First impressions small house like restaurant that actually serves on 2 floors. We had our reservations and were greeted and seated when we arrived! Dolce Vita is BYOB so I do suggest that you bring your reds & white for accompanying your meals My wife enjoyed their ; Roma Pasta Grilled chicken with alfredo sauce, mushrooms, diced tomatoes, and parmesan cheese. And for me; Chicken Cardinale L Sautéed chicken breast topped with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese in lemon, butter, and white wine sauce. Both meals had a truly delicate sauces that did not distract from the flavors of the other ingredients! I concluded my meal with a piece of Strawberry Cheese cake. Waitstaff we're very friendly and accommodating and kept our small table cleared as we finished with the plates. A house salad and complimentary bread was served with our meal! This place is hidden in plain sight right on Market Street in Camp Hill. Old school red sauce joint reminiscent of the family run spots I grew up with in Queens. Let's start with the good: one of the few things my daughter likes to eat is chicken Parmesan, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. As for the adults, our food was just ok. I had the linguini with clams, which could have used a little more flavor in the sauce. I saw a lot of oil and very little garlic. My wife ordered the shrimp and scallops Alfredo. The sauce was very buttery, which was good, but there were very few scallops in the dish. Tiramisu and cheesecake were solid, but my coffee was burnt and had grounds visibly floating on top. I couldn't drink it. I'm always happy to support a local family owned establishment, but unfortunately this one rates as average. read more

The owner is a sweet man and the food is amazing! It's located in a beautiful old house made into a quaint restaurant.

Soup was like hospital cafeteria soup. Salad was like grocery store salad with an extra slice of tomatoes and 2 pieces of cucumber. Pasta is filling, noddles cooked right but not much flavor to it (we ordered several different pasta, the chicken one was good but others all had no flavor). Dessert is quite decent. Overall, ok. So. I'm new to the area and was craving italian, so this place was new to me. I had a chicken Parmesan with linguine with marinara sauce and a side salad. The salad came first and it was like what is pictured- the most sad looking salad I've ever seen. They should really invest in smaller plates and mayhaps put more than 1 slice of cucumber in it? I was weary now. The chicken parm came and I really liked it! I'm a big food person So, I've been wanting an Italian place to frequent. The sauce was delicious and the chicken was really good. We went to Dolce Vita on Christmas Eve with some family. Some of our family have been here before but this was our first time. Anna and Maria took very good care of us. My wife and son had the Baked Ziti in vodka sauce. I had the trio dish which had stuffed shells, ravioli, and manicotti. My dish came with two meatballs which were amazingly moist and delicious. The ricotta was super creamy and flavorful. I did try my wife's baked ziti and the vodka sauce was fantastic. Oh, and we started with an order of mussels and clams in a red sauce. The seafood was fresh and the red sauce was amazing. I would recommend the house Italian for your salads too. It was very good. Super friendly people and believe me they were busy. The atmosphere is very appealing and intimate, I know for sure that we will be repeat customers. My 10 year old asked why we didn't get another order of mussels and clams to bring home. It would be 0 stars if I could. ... We finally tried this place after hearing about it last year. It was not only the most disappointing meal the entire place is disgusting. Upon entering the wait staff was not what I would expect for a restaurant trying to portray themselves on the upscale side. (Leggings, dirty shirts, and half in slippers) however I kept an open mind. While not the image I expected it shouldn't impact their service. I went to use the restroom, there is no toilet seat, no TP, just an empty roll in the floor and trash can covered in mold. I went in search for another only to be rudely asked what was wrong with it and it was all they had. When I said there isn't even a seat I was met with a shrug of the shoulders. The meal was just as disappointing. My salad was a bowl of lettuce with 1 tomato slice. The poor service was topped off when we were told we needed to leave as we were finishing up at 9 pm because they didn't have customers and wanted to close. ( the hours for a Friday night is till 10:30). As if this wasn't all bad enough I found the rudest "employee " was actually the owner. This entire evening was filled with unprofessional staff, a filthy and disgusting bathroom, a rude owner and mediocre food at best. Excellent! Small place with only a few tables. The marinara sauce was so fresh tasting of tomato and basil and thick enough to stick well to the pasta. Clearly fresh homemade pasta as well. We had chicken parm which was so tender you could cut with a fork, and gnocchi with sausage. Both fantastic. Tiramisu and cannoli to finish also very good. If it matters to anyone there is no alcohol served. But you are allowed to bring your own. Food was so good though we didn't miss the wine. Great find that we will definitely visit again. read more

However , my conclusion is that this place is just another central PA Italian restaurant good enough for the locals who don't want to drive into the hustle and bustle of the big city of Harrisburg . The service was not special . The waiter was nice but did not discuss the menu or welcome us or ask us any questions . The food came out quickly ...almost too quickly ...like a lot of the dishes were pre-made in bulk before the start of the night . We felt that they were looking to churn tables rather then create an enjoyable experience. The food was fine with some hints of possibly frozen at one time . Despite some of the negative reviews, I found the place pretty good! I went with a nice size of people, about 10-12 of us, and we were seated easily because we had a reservation. It's a small restaurant, kind of looks like the place you'd take someone on a date, but it really was very nice. Kind of dark, but again, an intimate setting. I ordered the lamb rosemary, which came with a salad with cappellini pasta. Each came out in reasonable time and the each were very good Note: This is a BYOB establishment. The food was very tasty and the rack of lamb was good. Not too small, not too huge, just right (sadly, I'm a quick eater, and its a horrible habit I am trying to break), but overall I had a pleasant experience there despite it being expensive. But it's fine to go there once in a while, wouldn't go there every day. Nino, the owner, was very nice and worked with us to make sure we had a nice meal, and we did. My family had a good experience here. The atmosphere was great, food was good, service was great, and a good time was had by all. They sat us on the second floor room and we all had really good service. Appetizers came quick and were tasty. A table of about 10 of us and no one had complaints on their meals. Restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, but we knew this and planned ahead. We brought plenty for ourselves, wine, beer, mixed drinks. Cheaper than most places. All in all it was a nice experience. We've been coming to Dolce Vita for a long time now and have always been pleased. We are doing our best to help keep this tiny restaurant in business during Covid. The proprietress is unfailingly welcoming and personable. My husband can't not order the lasagna and I love the eggplant spinach rolls, always delicious. The portions are generous, easily enough for lunch another day. My husband thinks the red sauce is the best anywhere. We keep meaning to check if they sell it in a jar to take home. Maybe next time we'll remember to ask... Everything comes nicely packaged in a box for takeout and is still at serving temperature when we get home. The atmosphere is nice, the restaurant is clean, and a man who I assume is the owner was very warm and friendly. Dinners ranged from roughly $16-25. I definitely recommend it. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here, and the experience was terrible. I set up the event about three months out, and I called back at least three times to make sure all the details were in order. Things started to go wrong as soon as I arrived on the night of the event. First, the waitress pulled me aside to tell me that the restaurant needed an order for everyone. This was not mentioned once on any of the previous calls as I'd understood everything to be "family style," where the food is brought out and guests take what they'd like. I asked the owner on the first call if that was how they did their events, and he told me it was. I quickly resolved this minor setback and got everyone's order. Ten minutes later, the owner pulled me into a side room to tell me that they were out of Chicken Parmesan. Keep in mind that we'd pre-arranged that Chicken Parmesan would be one of only three options offered to the guests. As if that wasn't bad enough, the owner had me go out to inform the guests that they needed to change their orders instead of owning the situation. Thankfully, my friends and family took this in stride, but I felt embarrassed to have to personally tell guests that they couldn't get the meal they'd ordered. On top of those two issues, we received almost no service in our space. We had one overwhelmed waitress. I don't blame her for the fact that she couldn't deliver all our salads, refill our waters, and bring out our food; I blame the owner who'd clearly mismanaged our event. Two guests didn't get their meals until everyone else was finished eating. Further frustrating me, the restaurant ran out of the deserts we'd selected, and several of my guests didn't even get the deserts I'd paid for. I'm not a confrontational person, and I wanted to leave the restaurant. So I didn't try to argue or yell about any of this at the end of the night. I simply paid my bill and left. In retrospect I very much wish I'd refused to pay the full price for all the meals since my guests did not get what the owner agreed to serve. As we left the restaurant we noticed that many of the guests downstairs were eating items we'd been told were not available on the night of our event. My friends suggested that because the owner charged a flat rate per person, he served most of us spaghetti and meatballs to save himself money on chicken parmesan. I don't know if that's true, and I hope it's not, but at the very least I can say that this restaurant is badly disorganized. I would advise others to avoid holding any events here. read more

I came here based on a suggestion from a friend and was highly disappointed. First off, we were never greeted or talked to by anyone. we waited for 15 mins before being asked what we wanted to eat. The salad you get with your meal is basically a small toss of lettuce that didn't even fill half the plate and drowned in dressing. The bread wasn't homemade or even close to it. Im pretty sure it was a sub roll cut into slices with some Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I tried one piece and left the rest. The meals were nothing like what their site pictured. The person I was with ordered chicken Oscar and it should've had lump crab meat on it but there was no crab meat so she told the waitress that it was not very good and the waitress took it back to the kitchen and never gave her any resolution for it. I wanted to update my review because even though we were about 2 minutes from walking out, we ended up eating our meals and we were not happy with them at all. As someone else that reviewed Dolce Vita mentioned, their food is incredibly salty. After waiting an hour and a half for our food, I expected it to be phenomenal. It was not. I'm still also blown away with how poorly our server treated us. I would consider my fiancé and myself foodies. We will travel far and away and pay ridiculous prices for good food. Let me start by saying my girlfriend and I had the most lovely dinner Friday night. The Roma pasta was on point. We sat out side on the patio and the atmosphere was beautiful and very relaxing. The owner Nino showed up right away to welcome us. Told us to relax and popped open our wine with a smile. He went over the menu with us and brought us hot garlic knots. The welcoming environment made us feel right at home. Nino came out a few times to check if we were enjoying our meals and told us if we did not like it he would make us something else. My wife called for reservations a day in advance and asked for 6:oo pm they asked if we could make it 5:45 pm, no problem. We arrived several minutes early and were seated. There were 6 of us and we were waiting for one friend who arrived at 5:50. At 6:25 we asked if they could take our order. Finally at 6:35 they took our order, prior to that the only thing they offered was water that was already on the table. The waitress who has been there a long time, I have eaten there many times, never completed the order and walked away as we voiced our displeasure of they way we were being treated. The other waitress finished taking the order.They sent out salads and now it"s 6:45 and the salads looked inedible and I'm convinced this was done on purpose by the chef. The chef came out with first waitress and they were talking and posting at us. The chef then gives me this look like he's going to do something to our food, it was the strangest interaction I have ever encountered at a restaurant. We promptly left after that interaction. I loved the experience that I and my coworkers had for dinner here. We had a reservation for 7 and were greeted and seated appropriately. The icing on the cake was the bread basket given to our table. This complimentary garlic bread was delicious and perfect for us to nibble on while we eat items for our food. The place is byob with no corking fee (maybe that's because we had twist off haha). After ordering apps and entrees our salads came out first, which I liked, rather than having them come out after the appetizers. Our server was very friendly and explained the order of our food and gave us expectations for our dining experience. The calamari and bruschetta came next. The bruschetta was delicious and full of flavor, and easy to eat, as the bread was not too hard as it sometimes can be at other restaurants. The calamari was a good texture but lacked any memorable flavor, I wouldn't order it again. My meal came next and the chicken itself was not very appealing. The sauce was delicious and the chicken itself, despite not looking very pretty, was cooked really well. The crab on top of the chicken was also not very flavorful. The side of pasta used the same sauce as the chicken and made for the perfectly sized meal. While some things had excellent flavor, other things could have used a bit more seasoning. However, I will definitely be returning... especially once the outdoor seating is ready for the season! read more

We had heard wonderful reviews from several friends about Dolce Vita & we are so glad we chose this restaurant for a night out with our dearest friends who suggested we give it a whirl! We reserved a table on the front porch & it was a perfect setting! It was beautifully lit & surrounded by flowers and grape vines. Tables were properly spaced and it felt warm & cozy. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer & they were spectacular. The texture of the mussels were spot on & we ordered an extra side of bread for our soaking pleasure. Nino, the gracious and friendly owner, suggested I try the Capellini Di' Angelo & it was delicious. The tiramisu caused a spoon war as I originally planned on sharing.
