I see bad reviews here, but my experience was better than expected for renting a vehicle at the airport. It's usually a process - find the rental car shuttle bus and ride it to the rental car agency then wait in line with your luggage a good hour and hope for the agent in the good mood. Luckily, I got an agent that was pleasant and accommodating. She answered my questions, repeated back to me the terms of the contract, gave me a complimentary upgrade and quoted me a fair price. The vehicle itself was new and in great condition. I drove it all around Denver and to Boulder. When returning the vehicle, I just drove right up in line and an agent came out to scan the door barcode and sent me on my way. That took about 2 minutes. The shuttle was there and got me promptly to the airport.

Not 24/7 as the website suggests. Rented a car to get from Denver to CoSp quicker than my 6.5h layover would've allowed. Checked in online so that I could grab the keys and go. When I arrived around 3:45a, 15 people were waiting. No one from the rental car company (Dollar or Thrifty) was present. We were told they'd be in by 4am, which came and went. The website instructed checked in drivers to access the self check kiosks, but those didn't exist. It's currently 4:45a, and there is still no one here.

Absolutely horrible! Rented a Chevy Equinox. Looked a little rough; exterior was filthy, multiple scratches and a chipped windshield . We complained about the condition of the car and the lot attendant told us to take pictures. We did. The attendant pointed out a chipped windshield and guess what. Dollar car rental billed us for the cracked windshield. WHAT A SCAM OPERATION you have going on here. My husband has been on the phone with them for two days now. Call one number, than told to call another number, then another, and everyone says the same thing "I understand, we apologize". Super quick to bill us for damage that was pointed out to us at pick up. Impossible to talk to anyone that can fix the problem. Folks this company is not worth the aggravation, use a different rental car company, We are fighting this, we have pictures' this company is totally unethical. Gives you a car that has damage, and then bills you for the damage.

First off, we waited over an hour in line, while only 3 agents were working, though there are about 12 computers set up. We had reserved an SUV for $458 for our trip. We got there and were told it wasn't 4WD and we needed 4WD for drive to Breck. So, he said he could upgraded us but it would now be about $1250. We reluctantly agreed. Upon return, we found out that he tricked us and didn't just charge us $1250 total, but added a $1000 "upgrade fee" (plus fees and taxes) to the original $458 charge, so we now paid almost $1800 for a halfway decent GMC Acadia for 5 days! They claim "you signed it so you were aware", but it was a total bait and switch type move. They also tried to charge us for trunk damage that was already existing (but I failed to take a pic of). Oh, also, they have signs there indicating that they fill gas for $2.16/gallon. Guess what? Not true, we got charged $9.99/gallon. The signage (posted with review) is very confusingly written, I'm sure on purpose to help with the scam. We deserve AT LEAST our original $458 back!

The dollar. And Thrifty counters at 4:30 am.

We arrived into Denver at 3:55 am, got our bags and took the shuttle from Island 4 to the dollar/Thrifty rental site. That was where the trouble began. DO NOT RENT HERE!!! We, along with multiple other early travelers arrived at 4:30 am and no one was manning the desks. Despite doing the checkin steps to make things faster for me, none of that matters if you have no one to give me the car. Perhaps it is time to get a kiosk because that would be open 24x7 and could give me my keys

Great experience picking up the rental car. Definitely check in online so you can skip the long line at the rental car counter.

Make it easier to reach an agent instead of keeping customers on permanent hold. Been trying to get through and cannot get a hold of anyone.

How is the return process? I'm terrified after the insanely long wait with reservations?

That actually isn't bad because you drive up and just leave the car. You don't have to get in the line for that.

They gave me a complementary upgrade to a very cool Ford Expedition, and were knowledgeable and friendly throughout the process. I do hope that they can overcome some staffing challenges to keep the line down though.

I landed at midnight and waited 45 minutes to get picked up from the bus to the rental car place. Then, I had to wait in line for about another hour. Finally, I got to the counter, and they told me they were out of cars! At 3:45 am, what else could we do? We ended up renting an expensive car. When we received it, we discovered that it had no battery left. We had to sit at a charging station for an hour. The next day, we had two flat tires! We called to exchange the car, but they still had no cars left. We ended up canceling and going with a different company. However, they charged my card twice. When I went to dispute it, they fought it. What a terrible company! The desk people were horrible. One even quit during the duration of my time waiting in line. He was set up to fail anyway. How do you overbook too many cars for people? It's wild! I will never go with this company again and will be sure to tell my family and friends about this awful experience.

This was a cluster…read more Waited a while for their busses (not their fault, just busy) to get out to the actual place to rent the car. When I arrived, I can only describe it in what felt like some kind of lifeboat situation. The little shack with rental counters couldn't be seen because there was a mob of stressed people wondering where to go and what to do. A MASSIVE line. Fortunately, I have a deal with them to just grab my car and skip the counter.. I think? I hope? I don't really know. I was supposed to look for a video board with my name on it, but it basically just said HDMI and was a glitching black screen. I walked around to see where my car was, and it was no where to be found. There were probably 50 people waiting for their car, and maybe 7 in reserve? So I went to one that sort of looked like what I rented, if I squint, and just took it. Went to check out, told the dude I sure hope I'm doing this right, and apparently it was all good! Ditto to drop off, the guy telling us where to park was like "sorry y'all this is a shitshow today!" We dropped it and that was the end of it. Again, hope it works out, I think it did? But yeah. Part of it is because Denver Airport is always busy and you need a car for the city or mountains. But I think Hertz should step it up a bit here. I'll rent from them again because I have the tier that makes it more convenient, but wouldn't consider it otherwise.

Hertz experience was the real disaster more than the airport in remodeling chaos. Every other…read morerental company had buses circling every 15-20 minutes, but we were left waiting for almost an hour. When the bus finally did show up, it was so overcrowded that people were literally at each other's throats. It was basically a free-for-all just to get on. Then, to top it off, I get to the lot as a President's Circle member, expecting the perks that are supposed to come with that. It was noon, the reserved lot was 80% empty, and the "premium" selection was a joke. Just a bunch of random Jeeps and huge RAM pickups ready to haul horses and a handful of base-model Nissan Kicks and Kias. It's just pathetic. You're paying for a top-tier service as seems Economy, Budget and Thrifty are better, but you're getting a bottom-of-the-barrel experience. They aren't even trying anymore.
