It was fun, but absolutely exhausting because of the heat, humidity, and lifting the baby so he could see stuff. The next day, we wanted an easier adventure. We decided to go and explore Ollie's. Neither of us had ever been there. The baby is easily entertained by sitting in a grocery cart and being pushed around new places. It was the perfect venue for him and a great chance for us to see what the store was all about. The first thing that got my attention was a huge book department. They had a lot of great books at super discounted prices. For example, hardcover Michael Connolly novels were only about $9.00. They had several children's books for around $5.00 a piece, some of which we had recently bought on Amazon for as much as $20.00. They seem to have just about everything in the store. Most of the prices I saw were really fantastic. We were really just looking and only bought a few books for the baby, but I can see us filling a cart with awesome bargain finds. One thing that surprised me was how neat and tidy this store was. Similar businesses in San Antonio usually look like an earthquake happened. Wow! I just discovered that we have an Ollie's right next to Ingram Mall in San Antonio. I can't wait to get there without having to keep my cart in motion for the grandson. I hope it's as nice as the New Braunfels location. I'll let you know.

I have bought a fleece jacket with the hoodie ( very warm) a growler and a human bed ( likes like a big dog bed)so that my dog and I can hang out while I watch TV during the holidays. At Christmas they had quite a selection of inflatables and very reasonable at $19.99. They have a whole array of goods to include rugs ,Automotive ,and pet aisle .. the place looks a little bit disorganized, but this may be the fault of the customers moving things and dropping things off that isn't the proper area . sometimes it's hard to find the products that were advertised in the flyer because they have sold out .so if you're gonna go to Ollie's go as soon as the flyer comes out.

I loved this particular Uptown Cheapskate ever since I was a student at TXST. After graduating,…read moreevery time I'm in San Marcos, I always stop here and each time, I have always left with some items. After looking at some reviews, I do agree, majority of the clothes are leaning more towards the younger audience, but it makes sense because it is located in a college town. The clothes I see in Dallas are more diverse, but leaning more towards the mature side. So, the clothes they have do depend on the location of the Uptown. For this particular location, I think they're pretty good on having clothes that are trendy and up-to-date for college students. The most recent visit I had was very pleasant. They were doing an event for an anniversary and I was welcomed with a coupon at the door which was nice! I ended up a few things including a pair of Aerie Crossover Flowy Shorts for such an amazing price that I couldn't even find looking through Depop and Poshmark. After checking out, I was given a swag bag that had some cute pieces in there and I left with a cookie lol. I love and miss San Marcos so much! This place is also one of the reasons why I enjoy coming back. I remember thrifting in SanMo wasn't always the best specifically for me, but I think this place is guaranteed to have the items you're looking for. Of course, Uptown will cost more than a thrift store, but I don't mind that because it makes it more efficient for me to find items in excellent condition.

Seguin location for the most part is ok, just the smallest I've been too, so it is hard to organize. My complaint is that I found a decanter that I wanted without the topper but then I saw it laying on the end cap shelf. Yay!! I told the cashier that the topper belong to the decanter but manager said policy does not allow them to remove a price tag from item once it hits the shelves. This is absolutely ridiculous that I had to pay for the topper separately. Manager could have at least offered to mark it down. I was not asking for the 4 glass set we all know goes together but they price individually. Goodwill has gotten very greedy!! Just curious has anyone ever met a person Goodwil Organization has helped?

Like most Goodwills, this store is given over mostly to clothing , but there is a large selection of hard goods on the separate aisles. They have a decent selection of books and other media, but not much in the way of electronics or furniture. They have three dressing rooms to try on clothes and public bathrooms in the back. This is really kind of a two star thrift store, however, the staff does a good job of keeping everything looking neat and full, so three stars.

Everyone who runs this shop is extremely kind and helpful! It almost appears to be closed due to all the heavy construction on Walnut. I brought this concern to a volunteer while in the thrift shop, and she said, "We don't have anyone who can help with that, SWEETIE." I asked her to call me ma'am, but she doubled down and called me another patronizing name. Why are they there if they don't want to respect disabled people in all aspects? Isn't Hope Hospice about caring? Maybe the facility itself is, with its paid staff, but the volunteer-powered store is sorely lacking. The population is getting older and less able bodied; and damnit, we deserve some support and respect!
