After all these months having plenty of balloons are just sitting there, why don't they get more helium? I usually feel like a number to be rushed out of the store; this time I had an amazing experience. ----****----****----****----****----****----**** Here are some personal recommendations based on price and quality: What To Get? - Cleaning supplies & household items (Watch out: when buying for example a bigger bottle of dish soap rather than the smaller Palmolive's and Dawns'; you will get what you pay for) - Brand name candy and chocolates (Love that they have European candies such as Werther's, and Haribo's, and yes they are made in Europe!) - Advil pain relieve, and many other medicine cabinet needs - Telephone (car) electronics such as cables and car adapters. - Birthday Cards (2 for $1) - Party theme supplies (Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick's day etc....) - (some!) Pet supplies, yes not all their products seem safe; for example, the Flea and Tick Spray has some scary product reviews out there. What Not To Get? - Toilet Paper and Kitchen Towels; because, the cheapest rolls are next door at Walmart ($0.68 for 4 rolls of toilet paper, and $0.50 for a kitchen roll) - Beauty Supplies (Maybe the cotton swabs and hand soap are o.k, but other than that it is just a personal choice to limit my purchases on (chemical) beauty products. - Chips!! They are rather brand named and small sized, or generic; which tastes abnormally salty. - Many of their frozen.cold food items (not all of them), and that's simply because the quality of cold foods you would buy for a buck wouldn't buy that much, and qualitative (speaking of their meats and produce mainly). - Auto Refresher leaves and scented candles (They just don't smell (as good, and strong) - Brooms or a laundry bag or anything to good to be true for a dollar! read more

I enjoy coming here because it's close to where I work and I can buy really cheap party and household items. This store is pretty well stocked and I can usually find what I need here. They also have a pretty decent stock of holiday items. The employees are nice and quick at helping you check out and get on with your day. DO NOT Purchase 8 x 10 picture frames!! Like OMG You get what you pay for CHEAPER than CHEAP... The glass has several issues...Glass is smaller than the frame, this will show when you take the backing off, speaking of the backing, the glass will break here as well. It was really busy today, seeing as how it's valentines day. And I didn't like how rude the staff was today. Usually they're fine. But since it was busy, I'm guessing they were just stressed, but still. The manager needed backup and he was super unprofessional about asking for it, and started yelling the question to one of his employees, "DO YOU HAVE A TILL?!" The kids and I just love this place! On this day we came here to find gift bags and candy for Christmas. We found really nice and beautiful gift bags of all kinds. I really am torn between Dollar Tree and 99 Cent Only. Same concept, but they have different things. So it really depends on what you are looking for. I do like Dollar Tree for their more extensive "party supply" stuff. And they have more kids toys/party goodie bags stuff. They also have a good teacher classroom supply and craft stuff. They also have a larger selection of home cleaning/kitchen gadgets. I think that they have a decent selection of items for the specific holidays, but it could be better. I don't see as many 'brand' name items as I do at 99 cent only. But for a dollar a piece, you can certainly still get a good load of stuff. read more

I patronize this shopping center quite frequently. Since I divide my time, between PetSmart and WalMart, while I'm there I'll stop into this Dollar Tree, since it's convenient. They don't have any type of refrigerated food items, but they have lots of party stuff, soaps and lotions. The aisles are narrow, and store is normally quite messy. I can't express how much I love this place! Everything being a dollar is a plus. Great for gifts be it Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas you name it they will have something tasteful to offer! Just had to give this 5 stars based on a DOLLAR! That is almost FREE folks! The danger for me shopping here is that I intend to spend only a dollar or a few dollars and EASILY end up spending at least 10 buckaroos! I understand that the quality of some things suffer when your paying a low price. However that being said, you can't beat a buck! I love getting some party and holiday supplies. I also find the most random stuff here. Which can be dangerous to my wallet. Because I think that I will spend a dollar and spend lots more. I have come here multiple times and I have never had any issues. I was in line to check out, put my basket up ready to check out. Cashier rudely grabs baskets flips it over and drops everything on counter. Proceeds to ask me if I need a bad, I reply no and hand her my bag which she then just proceeds to scan my items and place them on top of my bag. I have no problem bagging my own items or emptying my basket but a little communications would help. Ya it's the beginning of the holidays and it will be busy and there will be long lines , but that's no way to treat customers. Unfortunately this cashier was not a wearing a name tag . I was on register 2 and it was about 1:30 pm on 11/26/17 if that helps management talk to the cashier that helped me. read more

I love the Dollar Tree, what can I say? I'm a sucker for a bargain ha ha plus there's a Wal-Mart next door and I can do all my shopping in one plaza. This dollar tree happens to be the most well laid out dollar tree store I've been to. Everything was nicely organized & clean but nothing out of the ordinary. They had a nice selection of Valentine's Day items as well as Easter items & even St. Patty's day stuff (; I was able to find affordable and cute decorations for my daughters V-day party & Valentine's Day cards because I remember how serious I took that when I was younger. If there was ever a dollar store that you should hit in San Diego, it would be this one. Strategically located between a Wal-Mart and a Petsmart and right across from Fry's, this place has it all. I recently went here a couple days before Christmas and was kicking myself for not getting gift card boxes and jewelry boxes to put presents in. There are lots of pretty gift bags, boxes, and other Christmas related things on the cheap that you would pay more for elsewhere. I suggest hitting this place up before a themed holiday to fulfill all your decorating needs (Easter, Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc).
