I walked back to my car and searched for a nail salon nearby. With 4.9 stars () I decided to give Dollish Polish a call. It was my lucky day as they said they could take a walk in. Regina introduced me to GelX and let me tell you I'll never go back!!! She is kind, funny, and does a great job. Jesse has been my nail person for over a year. Every appointment is an art session and honestly filled with love, life, and LAUGHTER. My niece often hears me talk about Jesse and sees the amazing work she does. If you consider yourself tall at all, don't get a pedicure here. I remembered this place from when I randomly needed a pedicure in early 2020. The owner was doing by appointment only and I was really happy with it. I thought of this place again today when I needed another pedicure and unfortunately, I left extremely unhappy this time. This salon needs a different pedicure set up. And now that I'm reading other reviews, I see I'm not the first person by far to complain about this. There are uncomfortable chairs, on a raised platform with basins on rollie carts that you put your feet in. Im 5'9 and had to hold my legs up the entire time, because if I relaxed them... I would have tipped the basin off the platform. I was extremely unhappy, stressed and uncomfortable the entire time. I couldn't focus on the pedicure Yesenia did because all I could think about was keeping my legs up. It looks fine, but there are still callouses on my feet. Don't even remember a massage. She dented the polish on my big toenail putting my sandals on and had to re do it twice. I said no problem, paid the $33 dollars she asked for and left. I told her and the other girl that was working they needed a new system and how I was leaving unhappy... but I don't think I fully conveyed how upset I was because I didn't feel good that day. I don't think I should of had to pay anything for that experience. read more

I took my sister to get her very first set of nails, and of course she did an incredible job and left my sister obsessed. Unfortunately the Owner comes off with a real nasty attitude towards others. This lady will straight up make you cry and feel like a horrible person over whatever she feels like picking at on that particular day. I really loved all the techs there. Their work is incredible and impressive but the vibe the owner brings makes it real tense. A little paint and decor change does not make a tense environment any better. My first appointment was with the owner, Yanira, but unfortunately I had been involved in a minor car accident before. I had texted her telling her I'm going to be late and apologizing, and she had called and asked where I was and MET ME THERE. This is just one of many examples of how Yanira shows up for her clients. Booked an appointment online with any tech for a pedi and a dip manicure. I called because I had a question, and good thing I did because turns out I wasn't able to get a dip mani. BUT the tech I was assigned to, Christina asked exactly what I was looking for as far as a mani. I let her know that I didn't want any acrylic (FYI dip powder is acrylic, I HAD NO CLUE!) and that my natural nails were a nice length, she knew exactly what I needed, when I didn't! First, I want to say that this rating is NOT a rating on the shop as a whole. This is for the Tech Alejandra. I called the shop on Friday and asked if they had an opening for an acrylic overlay. The girl that answered said she did at 9am. I told her I couldn't do that time. I told her cuz my kids were getting a hair cut down the street at 11. Then she said that 11:30 would be ok. She got my name and number and said I was going to get a text and that I was down for 11:30 with her and her name was Alejandra. So I never got the text. I get to the shop. I was greeted nicely and they said Alejandra was there yet.. I did get there a bit early.. no worries. I waited like 5min before one of the very nice techs said Alejandra wasn't coming in today she is at an event in pomona. I get it that things come up. I'm not mad about that. What's disappointing is that I did give her my number when I booked, why couldn't she just text me to let me know?? She swears I would have been like NO you have to do them. My first experience was amazing. Jesse is so good and careful, I got a GelX set and was extremely satisfied with the results. Today I had another tech and it was not so good. One of my nails is tilted to the side and the rest I am not happy with. I had to do extensive filing of the sides in my own to make them look a bit more decent, but I am still not satisfied. I'm even thinking of going to get a whole new set because I don't think I can stand them for 2-3 weeks. It really depends on who your tech is. I was looking for a new nail place, and had literally been stalking the studio on Instagram for two months and decided to make an appt. I am sooooo happy. They take your temp when you come in, have you wash your hands and after you are not allowed to touch your phone during the service (idk if it's the same for pedicures) to prevent spread of germs. Environment was wonderful ladies were pleasant and nice to talk to. I did express Mr concern with the pedí chair very cute but NOT comfortable for my height what so ever. I wanted something basic for my nails, because I am a basic biatch. Lol I reached out to this nail salon through Yelp and they responded quick & directed me to their online booking system. Their system is so well organized and you can choose which lady you'd like to do your nails. I chose Yanira and proceeded to book her, she was super booked. I'm talking about 3 weeks out, which was not a problem for me. Their booking system makes you put down a credit card and choose your service, that way if you bail without cancelling, they still make 50% of what your service would have cost (genius!). This motivated me to not miss my appointment. Their appointment system sends you various reminders so that you don't miss your appointment. I want to say I got maybe 4 reminders leading up to my appointment which was helpful because I'm forgetful. I showed up for my appointment, Yanira and her employee were attentive and Yanira made me a delicious coffee with whipped cream and everything.
