We went to Dolly Spankers today for brunch. Everything was wonderful! The food was delicious, weather was perfect on the deck, and cocktails were great! Alayna our waitress was the best! She checked on us multiple times throughout our visit and was very friendly. My only recommendation would be to add Aperol to your bar. I asked for an Aperol Spritz and was told the bar didn't have it. It's a pretty popular brunch drink! Would review the visit as 9/10

There is ALOT going on here! This is the old Crabby Dicks but under a new name. The menu is a bit different but still features a good variety of seafood. There are some things I'd have again and some things I would not. The mussels and sides were amazing. The wings and Brussels had an interesting flavor I would say. And some of the mains were good, others lacked. I went to a staff happy hour and was impressed with how well the staff handled such a big group. They were as timely as they could be and remembered everything! The only problem we had is that dishes and empty plates were not being cleared at all! So a pile up happened. Seems like some of the kinks are bei bf worked out but it was a good time!

Sorry but I had higher hopes. I was surprised. First, our waitress was very good and we left her a 23% tip. The food wasn't her fault. Cream of crab soup. Wasn't soup it was batter. Taste wasn't bad but you could eat it with a fork. Ceasar salad was so salty i couldn't finish it. Dont know why so salty. Cauliflower wings were pretty good. My brisket was like my mothers day old dry pot roast. Potatoes had no flavor and dry!! Over cooked. Corn bread was so dry you couldn't pick it up, just crumbled and fell apart. Kids friend had crab and shrimp pasta. It actually looked good and they said it was. I did not taste that. So all in all $110 for this meal Uhg Maybe a new chef today

We had Maddie the server several times over the last few yrs even going back to the previous restaurant. Shes great. Food is spot on and the scenery from the seats is beautiful looking at the water.

I aggressively despise this place. why would you name food after genitalia. that will never not be weird to me. my peel and eat shrimp was great. fries were great. crab balls -__- were good. the egg roll thing was also good. everyone finished all their food so how much can I complain. the restaurant itself is the cabin of a ship or something idk but the decor is appropriate. waitstaff was nice. I think the owner or manager was coming around greeting us. not a bad experience. just not my vibe personally lol. also there were no vegetarian options sadly but it's a seafood restaurant no biggie.

Substance in unclean bathroom. Not Busy!

The crab was NOT fresh. We got food poisoning. The restaurant was filthy. I wish I had read the reviews before dining here. Never again.

Ask the Community - Dolly Spankers

Do they offer gluten free options at the Crabby Dicks in Delaware City?

While they don't list items as such on the menu ... they have a selection of Steamer Pots and other steamed or broiled seafood that would be gluten free.

Old school; low key, wood paneling, classic bar, pitchers of beer, brown paper covered tables with a roll of paper towels, mallets, a shaker full of Old Bay, and a bucket for the emptied shells. It doesn't get much better when you're looking for great crabs. They only serve #1s and at market price. They come out on a tray, they're coated in Old Bay and steaming hot, and come with optional melted butter and/or a vinegary crab sauce though they don't need a drop of either they're so flavorful and sweet. Our server was very kind and seemed to know all the locals, and she told us the nearby location the crabs were from. Be aware that you can't put tip on a credit card and they no longer have an ATM. If you go, you shouldn't expect fluff, frills, or fuss, but you can count on the best crabs you can find based on our experiences. We ordered 1 1/2 dozen crabs, a basket of fries, 3 pitchers of beer, two water bottles, 2 single beers - one draft and one bottle, and our total bill was $190 ($100/dozen for crabs). Also be aware that they have crabs Thursday through Sunday, and you can call to reserve the the # of crabs you want. We learned the hard way last year that they can sell out quickly based on reservations. I almost forgot to mention they bring out ice cold frosty beer mugs! Cheers!

With plenty of outside seating and perfect views of all the boating action on the canal Schaefer's is the perfect spot for an early dinner. While the place is always busy, especially when the weather is nice, we were seated within 15 minutes---just enough time to order a few drinks from the large outside bar. Our server was exceptional given the number of tables he seemed to be handling as he stopped at our table frequently between trips to other tables and getting orders in. I think it was great he had help---our appetizers and food were brought to the table by another staff allowing our server to focus on taking orders and getting them to the kitchen---a very well run restaurant! We had the Fresh Berries & Greens salad---Served with honey raspberry dressing, gorgonzola cheese, mandarin oranges and toasted almonds. Portion was on the larger size and worth the price. Also tried one of their specials for the day--a Mediterranean garlic chicken flatbread and it was baked to a crispy crust and topped with a balsamic glaze. Highly recommend if you see it on the menu. While we waited for our dinners we sipped on a couple glasses of red blend and enjoyed their Chips & Salsa which included Tortilla chips served with tomato and mango salsa and guacamole. Chips were fresh, the mango salsa had a nice kick, and the guac was tasty and not bland. An appetizer very much worth trying! Lastly, if you go on Saturday's during the summer there will be live entertainment....sound was just about right for an outdoor venue.

I have to say this restaurant is fantastic. We sat on the covered deck right along the water got to see the boats coming in and out. The food was fantastic. They make an excellent bloody Mary, which is one of my favorite drinks! My mom had a peach Bellini and she raved about it. Our server was fantastic. This has become our new favorite, so we will definitely be returning and I can't wait! We had the crab dip and the muscles red for our appetizers. We love muscles and do you eat a lot of muscles I have to say they need to add more sauce to those muscles and it would make them far better. The crab dip is great. I had to crab meat tacos fantastic. My fiancé had the broiled seafood combo. It was good but for that price there was not enough food. I wish I would've taken a picture of that and I didn't so that's my fault. Definitely need to put more food on that plate for that price. My dad had the crabcakes and he said it was very good so all in all we all loved it. It's super close for my parents coming from Jersey so this is definitely be when we return great experience.

My latest travels took me through Middletown, Delaware. I drove into the city around 5 pm, and I…read morewas so hungry, I could eat the butt out of a skunk. With a quick search for local restaurants, I came across Randazzo's Trattoria. I punched in the address of 103 Patriot Drive into the GPS, and off I went. They have some merch by the front door in a little branch-off area to the left as you walk in. Then I turned right and met with a queue of people waiting for a table. Very rarely do I run into a queue waiting to get into a local restaurant. However, everyone I've ever visited has been so worth the wait. Again, my foodie senses were tingling in a good way. As I waited, the counter was to the left, and behind the cashier, you could watch the staff make the pizzas. I was mesmerized. I love places that have an open view of the kitchen. There is something poetic I find about watching a cook or a chef prepare a dish in the kitchen. I overheard the hostess talking to the couple in front of me about their reservation. So good tip, if this place is going to be a return stop, make a reservation. When it was my turn, the hostess was friendly and showed me to my table. I sat with a perfect view, directly looking at the kitchen door. So, there was more to the kitchen in this place than just the pizza counter I saw as I stood at the front. The place is a flurry of activity. The wait staff was flying through the place, getting drinks, delivering food, and getting refills. My waitress told me later on that they were short-staffed, which explained all the activity. Again, the staff was really hustling, which included the hostess. When she wasn't showing guests to their tables, she cleared tables, ran orders, and got drinks. I started with the side salad that came with my meal. It looked and tasted fresh with a wonderful balsamic vinaigrette. It was a delicious and delightful beginning of the meal. I didn't see any rusty lettuce, and it wasn't served on a cold plate, which suggests it was plated earlier in the day and kept refrigerated until serving time. It doesn't always mean that; sometimes, places refrigerate the plates they use for serving salads, and that's not a bad thing. But I have come across places that have done the aforementioned offense, and you can usually tell with the lettuce and other veggies being dried out and not tasting as good as fresh ingredients. This was not the case with Randazzo's side salad. Next, whenever I see garlic knots on the menu, I have to order them. What can I say, I'm a huge lover of all things bread. Especially when it's covered in garlicky goodness. For me, these knots were perfectly made. They pulled apart, steam escaping from the now-exposed crumb within. The crust had just the right crispness. And the overall chew was wonderful. The interesting part of this dish, for me, was the sauce. It was a thin, semi-watery sauce. It had a mild taste, and the seasoning wasn't overbearing. It complemented the garlic knot well. To my taste buds, the sauce became the welcome mat to the goodness of the garlic knots. As it hit my tongue first, it was like it was saying, Welcome. Allow me to introduce you to my friend, the garlic knot. These are a must-try if you ever visit the restaurant. Then it was on the big show. The main course. I ordered their Chicken Piccata with Linguini. In all the dishes I've had, it's always been served with breaded chicken. This one threw me a bit with them making it with grilled chicken. But my goodness, it did not disappoint. The chicken was so tender. Perfectly cooked. And look at this portion! The picture does not do it justice because it was a massive plate. The other star of this dish was the sauce. Most dishes I've had are a mixture of lemony butter, maybe white wine, broth, or sometimes oil. This was not your plain Jane Piccata sauce. The lemon and butter were definitely there. I think I tasted a hint of wine, but they either added flour or something else that gave it a little more body and a creamier texture. And the Capers! They were huge. I've never seen capers that large. They just added that little extra to the dish with their little pop of lemony smoothness when you bite into them. And the linguini was wonderful and cooked perfectly. The dopamine my brain was flooding my body with sent me deeper into gastronomic bliss with each bite. Before I knew it, I had finished the entire plate. My stomach yelled at me later as I waddled my way out to my car, but damn, it was worth it. My overall experience with Randazzo's Trattoria was absolutely wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly, even as they ran around the restaurant, truly hustling. And I speak from experience, that is not easy to do when you're working a full shift. If you ever find yourself in Middletown, Delaware, I strongly suggest stopping by Randazzo's and giving them a try.

We have dined here several times and have enjoyed the very good food, atmosphere and nice staff. However the credit card reader they use charges a 3% service fee for both credit cards and banking card / cash transactions, which is nuts! This fee is typically absorbed by the company, not by the customer. Furthermore it appears to be illegal in Delaware. When we used our ATM the server would not take off in the credit card fee. She stated there is not an option for her to remove this fee for cash. Reminder: An ATM is as good as cash and it is federally illegal to charge these fees for banking cards or for cash. My thoughts are either the staff needs to be educated on how to remove this fee or the software needs updated so a 3% fee does not reflect on cash or ATM transactions. Check your state and federal laws. Thank you for looking into this.
