Sadly, I had previously visited this restaurant times and had a positive experience. This particular time my food did not taste good, and I was not able to eat it. I requested something else to eat and the manager told me that I should like what he fixed, and that it was a Popular Dish. He told me if I order something else he's going to charge me for both. I agreed because I was hungry, but I have never had an establishment act like this. He then proceeded to ignore us and not come and see if we needed anything else or if the other meal was OK. He sent his wife to give us the check. We told her we would not be back because we are very unhappy with how he handled the situation. He came over to the table and sat and argued for about 10 minutes about how he was right, and we tried to explain our experience from a customers perspective. He was unable to understand, kept making excuses like he didn't have enough help or his wife didn't check on us enough. Totally bizarre and inappropriate handling of this. Won't be back! read more

This is the only place in Cincinnati we've found that rivals the food we used to get in Chicago. Wait staff was prompt and extremely courteous, atmosphere beautiful (the wooden bar is exquisite!) and the food simply incredible. We couldn't decide what to order so we got two appetizers (Gimbab and dumplings) and they were both so good! We ordered Spicy Pork Bulgogi and Chicken Bimibam for our entrees. We were in town for sons soccer tournament this past weekend. I thought I recognized the name of this place from a previous trip there a few years ago, but after my wife picked up our takeout order, I learned it wasn't. I should have looked at the pictures I guess, but it sounded familiar. We ordered beef and chicken bulgogi dishes, and they were both unlike any bulgogi I've had. I've had bulgogi all around the country, hundreds of times, but never like this. I thought bulgogi translates to fire meat, but there was no evidence of any fire. There was no char whatsoever, like the meats were steamed or done on a flat top. No caramelization of the sugars at all, the beef was bland at best, and the chicken with some thick red sauce wasn't any better. No depth of flavor at all. And as others have stated, portions are quite small. We had some great Szechuan food the night before, and had a lot of rice leftover, so I asked the gentleman who answered the phone if I could pay to have noodles instead of rice. "No"he said. I again said "I'll pay any upcharge you'd like, so could you please switch to noodles". He went and asked somebody, and I was told, "that's just not possible". Yeah ok. Serve bland food and be rigid. Fantastic. On Taylor's recommendation I got the stir fry bowl, added squid, and a local lager. Accompanied by a 6 vegetable / relish plate this sizzling rice, egg, pepper, and vegetable bowl should be enough for two servings but I finished it anyway. I always enjoy my meal here! I love their Stone Bowl meals. Last visit they had family in the restaurant and the kids were very loud and running around. YUM!! I lived in Korea for over a year and this is the closest to authentic Korean food you'll find in Cincinnati. We waited 20 minutes to place our appetizer order and another 30 for it to come out. Our waitress only came to the table 3 times, the first to take our drink order then the appetizer order, then after the appetizer To get our food order at which time we wanted the bill. My daughter spilled a drink we did our best to clean it up with the 3 cocktail napkins we were given. We had to resort to grabbing napkins from the tables around us the bus boy did not help. We got our appetizer, we did not get plates, silverware, and napkins after waiting for another 10 minutes I got up and got our plates, napkins, and silverware. Tried Dolsot Bistro with a friend for lunch. It is located in the space where brown dog Café used to be. The interior has been updated with a comfortable modern Asian motif. We got there right as it opened so it was not busy at all. Our server was immediately attentive and helpful with the menu. My friend knew she wanted the Bibimbap. I am not too familiar with Korean so I got the beef bulgogi lunch tray. The server brought the Bibimbap to the table 1st - really appetizing presentation and aromas ...with a fried egg on top in a sizzling hot stone bowl. She asked what spice level my friend wanted and if she wanted the dish mixed for her. The bulgogi lunch tray arrived with a generous side of steamed rice, rice rolls, and two small deliciously crispy filled dumplings. It was a very tasty and satisfying lunch. This hidden away place is a gem in Blue Ash. The service was very attentive, and all of the food came out in a timely manner. Banchan tastes impeccable, and the bimbibap is top notch, crust on the rice came out fantastic, better than many stone bowls I've had here in Cincinnati. So good. What's this? Two 5 * reviews back to back?!?!?! I was torn between 4 and 5 stars. but in the end...it was 5. The couple of places back home that I go to have a very nice selection of Banchan. Dolsot Bistro brings out just six and the portions were very small. Then I tried them. all were superb. Still, would have liked to see the wide variety that I've become accustomed to when eating at other Korean restaurants. When I go to a new restaurant I tend to order a mainstay to me. If the restaurant can't get a basic dish correct then what else is going on. Half way through my meal the waiter came out and apologized for recommending what I ordered. He said they have many other more colorful, interesting, whatever...dishes. Told him that I was extremely satisfied and that my choice of "comfort food" was exactly what I wanted. The Pork Bolgogi had amazing flavor. The spice level was good - could have been a little spicier. I like things a little spicier - I was okay with it for a first visit. This is a slightly more casual version of his bistro and the menu is wider than what is offered at Sung's. The theme of the restaurant is Dolsot so many things come in a hot stone bowl with crispy rice. I went with a group of 5 folks and were promptly seated. They didn't have their grand opening yet and were ironing out the kinks of the menu and kitchen. I ordered the bbq eel bowl. It took a while (maybe 30 min) as they were ironing out their execution. They did provide some ban chan of boiled potato, seaweed and Kim chi. I thought it would be 3 dishes per person but they brought just 2 sets for the entire table. They were quite large though. But when the food came out, it was goooood and made up for things. The bbq eel was definitely tasty and so creamy like good bbq eel can be. The rice was tasty and crispy after letting it sit in the bowl for a few min. I'll definitely be coming back when in the area. read more

I found this place on Yelp and I am really impressed. My husband and I went here for dinner one random night - not a weekend - and when we got there the restaurant was empty. Service was great, and the waitstaff was helpful and attentive and helped us with our order. Our food came out hot and quickly and the staff helped us with what we we're to do with everything.
