This is a lovely, hospitable place and we had wonderful service. The bantam (assortment of small-plate appetizers served with Korean meals) was well flavored and a nice variety. But the bibimbap options we tasted were pretty homogenous. The separate ingredients didn't shine and combine to create something special. Instead, they made for one-note dishes. Wanted to try this for the first time and suggested it to our friends (wife never had Korean cuisine). Fresh and some different banchan not typically served (I ended up eating every little bit), amazing Unagi (BBQ eel) bibimbop with crisped up rice, bulgogi was not bad (I prefer having the actual grill for charred pieces), chop chae was not the traditional style as noodles were cut up into short pieces and was only OK so I much prefer the traditional style. Overall quantity of each dish was average size. Service was phenomenal, Mr Oh was floating around checking up and stopped at our table which turned into a nice conversation. Our friends loved it. Oh my, this place is something special. The ambience is wonderful. The setting comfortable, clean and classy. Our waiter Jonah was perfect. Down to earth, knowledgable, helpful and easy on the eyes. We ordered Yangnyum Dubu, an appetizer of fried tofu with a sauce that begged to be slurped up. I ordered sake tasters, 4 small cups of flavored sake, cucumber, strawberry, melon and something else forgotten in the pleasant haze that makes sake a favorite. Dinners were Jham Bhon, a noodle soup with more seafood and meats than I can remember. It's a dish to be relished, unique and delicious. Dolsot Kumchi was the other dinner, a stone bowl of kimchi, pork belly and other delights. I was transported by the combination of flavors. I love this place. read more

I was a big fan of the downtown location and was excited there was another location to visit. I went a few months ago and they had a lot of the old staff working. The service was fast and professional. Went recently with my family and the staff has changed for the worst. The two guys working talked loudly enough for me and my family to hear their inappropriate conversations. The food also isn't very good and lacked the flavors I used to enjoy from them. I don't know if they have new owners but something is missing here. I might try it again in the future but I'm going to search for a new Korean restaurant to try! read more

Came here with a Cincysavers deal $15 for $30. Pretty decent. Had the Haemul Pajun and husband got bibimbap. It was good. The dipping sauce for the pancake was lacking in flavor. Overall it was good. Not sure if I would make a trip out unless I had a deal or something. read more

We loved this place. Food was delicious and authentic. Service could be slow sometimes but always friendly and attentive. Before today, I would give them 5 stars without any hesitation. But what happened today??!! We ordered our usual Mushroom Dolsot and Yuk-Gae-Jang soup. They were awful. The soup was extra salty. I just couldn't finish it. Husband added lots of water to the soup, but couldn't finish it either. There were big chunks of white rice in the Mushroom Dolsot. It looked like somebody cooked the dish in a hurry and didn't even bother to mix it well. I hope this was just a one-time thing, but if it happens again, we will not go back. read more

Our party of eight really enjoyed our visit to Dolsot. We are a group of friends who meet to try out different restaurants. We wanted to sample Korean food and were quite happy with our experience. The interior was comfortable and inviting, the staff attentive. It was quiet enough for good conversation up and down the table. At our invitation, the chef/owner came out and answered our questions about Korea, the restaurant business and his family. Seven of us had the dolsot--loved the crispy rice and the spicy sauce! I saw the good review in Cincy Magazine and was intrigued as I enjoy good Korean food. Dolsot did not disappoint. I got the Bibimbap with chicken. You can't go wrong ordering this classic no matter what protein you choose. Next time I will try the curry rice or perhaps the mushroom dish. What makes this restaurant standout beyond just great food is the welcoming wait-staff. Two women waited on me and both were friendly and conversational, but not to the point of being intrusive. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was that I found the build-out ordinary and typical of mom and pop asian-cuisine restaurants. It is clean but could use an interior and lighting designer's touch. You will be happy if you dine here. read more

This place is a gem. My husband and I enjoyed the dubu appetizer, mushroom dolsot and ghalbi. All three dishes were absolutely delicious. On top of it all, Mr. Sung and the servers surprised us with some dessert. Such a pleasant dining experience. We will be back :) read more

This new Korean restaurant in Blue Ash was a real treat. I had the BIBIMBAB in the stone bowl. It was an amazing mix of vegetables and rice with a sunny side egg on top. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the rice and the different textures and flavors of the vegies. Loved the creamy egg on top and the spicy sauce. My friend ordered the JAB CHAE - stir fried sweet potato noodles and mixed vegies. Before our dinners came they served six side dishes that included kimchee, and different pickled vegies and a seaweed salad. Our waitress was attentive and personable. The restaurant was nicely decorated and it was a relaxing evening. Recommend! read more

This place was amazing!!!!! I have never, NEVER met staff as friendly as these men were. They were attentive and friendly and so happy. I'm pretty sure the owner was there, and he was also extremely friendly! The interior was clean and simply dressed and just beautiful. The food was amazing. It was so delicious and fresh! I got the Beef Bulgogi, and it just melted in your mouth it was so tender! The sides were so delicious and fresh. I just can't say enough about this place. It was my birthday, and the owner brought me out a slice of cheesecake with Happy Birthday, and my name written in kanji. The whole experience was so personable! This is my new favorite restaurant in Cincinnati! I can't wait to go back! If you are looking for a great meal, friendly service and something different, this Korean Bistro is for you! read more
