That isn't mentioned on their Google page or Facebook page, and on their Instagram, it isn't clear that it is 21+ all the time as it is written right after "late night." I went in on my own to order wings to go. The menu is not written anywhere, and isn't on the website (which would also be a convenient place to mention that anyone under 21 is not allowed on property), so the moved slowly as no one could figure out what they wanted until they reached the only ordering kiosk at the window. Maybe their flavors change frequently? A chalkboard or something would be nice. The wings were very reasonably priced and didn't take overly long. We took them up the road to someplace with picnic tables to eat--only to discover that one of the extra sauces was missing and another was wrong. It would also be helpful if they labeled the different flavors. Maybe it was an off night for the wings, but we didn't get the hype. I think this restaurant is suffering from being too successful too quickly and will hopefully find a way to scale up to accommodate its popularity. Maybe somewhere with menus and access for families. It's like a restaurant and bar, plus an owner who seems to care about his establishment. My cousin and I went in for the same chicken wings, lemon pepper. Not all wing places are the same, I have to give the person making these wings a compliment! They had the perfect amount of lemon/pepper, it was not overly salted like many other places. I actually enjoyed the nice and crispy wings, without the over powering of lemon pepper seasoning. And as I finished wings, the bottom of the container was not full of manteca/grease, again like many other places I have been to. They've never relied on gimmicks or culinary trends--they've relied on the tried-and-true flavors that have maintained a loyal clientele for decades. I'm taking about hand-cut, primal cuts of beef grilled over real mesquite, delivering that unmistakable South Texas char. I'm referring to plump, wild-caught shrimp from the Gulf Coast, the famous yeast rolls, and tubs of homemade salad dressings. If you've been there, you know how special the overall experience has been. I've read many heartfelt comments on social media asking why such a successful institution would cease operations. Well, dear reader, I have a unique insight into why. Randy Stokes has poured his heart into the restaurant, but he merely leases the building--not the land--from the Straus family. Approximately seven months ago, Mr. Straus decided to sell the dirt beneath the "Barn" to a real estate developer. The plan? To raze this historic site and erect modern condos. It's a familiar story of urban expansion, but it doesn't make the loss any easier to swallow. But before we close the door on "The Barn" forever, a glimmer of hope looms on the horizon. Randy Stokes and his team aren't necessarily hanging up their aprons for good. According to a reliable anonymous source, the team has expressed a desire to reopen The Barn Door at a new location, with eyes set currently on the city's North Side. I hope the promise of a new location comes to fruition, but even if The Barn Door closes forever, I will cherish all the wonderful memories of dining there with my parents and grandparents over the years. Especially if there's large groups of people eating lunch. We've spent over 45 minutes waiting for our food at times which has caused us to withhold going if we know we have a meeting scheduled after lunch. It's also cutting it close for the hourly workers who have to clock in-clock out for their lunch hour. -there is no "lunch menu", everything is à la carte which can make it a bit pricey. How to solve issues: -downsize menu options. Less items to cook means shorter wait times. -create a lunch menu. This would also speed up the process as well as create a fixed cost. Easily you can spend $20-$25 on lunch when you add fries and a drink. I love wings; this is the best wing spot in town hands down. There are things they can do to improve, we are all pulling for their success!

Upon seeing the receipt, I asked the server why she had rung the food as two combos instead of the dollar wing special with fries, drinks and dips added and she informed me that the wing special was for only one flavor and said maybe she should've asked me beforehand. Hearing that was beyond disappointing. We had asked about the special and even ordered the beer that was on special. It was poor service to not have been informed before or during ordering that I would not be getting the advertised deal of the day.
