Calamari and eggs ( got 2 eggs poached )
    David J.

One of my go-to's in Pacific grove for breakfast. I don't live there anymore, but when I visit family I check this place out. I always get their calamari steak and eggs (served as you'd like). This is a classic cafe serving to what it feels like to me- home food. It's mellow. Diner-like almost. And a warm cosy, atmosphere. Nothing posh, but just good food and a friendly staff to get you want you need. Always enjoy putting this into my breakfast schedule if I'm craving something good.

Our favorite breakfast spot in Pacific Grove HANDS DOWN! We have tried so many menu items and everything is delicious and so hearty! The service is fantastic and the restaurant has such a nice and cozy atmosphere! My personal favorite menu item has to be the olallieberry pancakes - such an amazing flavor and consistency - try them!! I recently also tried the breakfast burrito and adored that as well!

Food is great and outside seats have a nice view of Downtown Pacific Grove. It's a decent size place but it can get crowded with a wait on the weekends, though not too bad. Loved the crab Benedict and the different options for mimosas!

Decided to stop by here to fuel up pre cycling adventure, apparently it was a busy Sunday despite the cold weather. Wait was a little long but food was decent, service was slow Our group of 6 was seated outside in the back area. They did not have room for us inside. There was no heat lamp and area was unfortunately foggy and cold at the time. Food and coffee took a while to get to the table. Felt like maybe the server forgot about us being out side in the back seating area.

Stopped in today to have breakfast with my niece, it wasn't super busy & we were able to sit down right away, the coffee was tasty, we both ordered the pancake special, i had bacon, she had sausage, i want to try lunch next time

Good breakfast and brunch place with many choices. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Cute cottage like building with homey and warm at atmosphere. Friendly service. Good coffee that they refill.

Outside patio pet friendly, amazing kind services, quick and we barely waited. Walked past the other cafes and breakfast spots in town and the waitlist was outrageous we walked a little further down the street and Toasties had us seated quickly and our food was not only quick but extremely delicious. Will be going back.

Spanish omelette topped with salsa and sour cream. And six tiny pancakes.

My husband wasn't a fan of the grilled chicken, but everyone else's meals were delicious. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, the eggs were great, and the thick-cut toast was fresh and so tasty. But the real star of the meal was the Cinnamon BUN Pancakes... WOW. They were absolutely delicious! Soft, flavorful, and honestly some of the best pancakes I've ever had. I couldn't get enough of them. The prices were also very reasonable, especially for being so close to the beach. Great food, great location, and a place we'll continue coming back to. You waited for things but not long at all. The food is very good for what this place is. The corned beef is shredded and the flavor is excellent. It is not greasy or wet. My wife asked for poached eggs and they came out perfectly done. The tuna melt was very good as well. The bread seemed house made and had the perfect crunch, the tuna was the show, clearly fresh with not too much mayo. Had a little dill, celery and some tomato. Very nice indeed. Even the onion rings were above average. I certainly will recommend and return

We had the option of indoor or outdoor dining. Based on previous yelp photos I decided to try the Cappuccino and I am glad I did. Made with LavAzza coffee I felt like I was in Italy again. My husband and I decided to share the combo plate. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, chicken sausage and a homemade biscuit. The salsa that it comes with is amazing so don't skip it. The portion was large and plenty for two people. The food was fresh, and flavorful. While the food was great, I think what makes this an amazing spot is the team. Each person was attentive, very friendly and made sure everyone had what they needed. I think we discovered a new spot and plan to be back. Oh and I love that they have a sign out front about providing a sandwich even if you can't afford one.

The meat was in cubes with veggies & a white sauce. Given that information, it had no flavor. The sauce was watery & barely added anything to the dish. Similarly, the chicken pot pie was incredibly creamy with not enough seasoning to balance it out. -Service/Staff: Despite being sat by the entryway, staff barely checked in on us to see if we needed anything. On multiple occasions, they checked on other groups around us, but not us. This was slightly upsetting as we felt invisible. -Overall: This place was just average. Nothing was particularly stand out about the food & the staff wasn't attentive during our visit. We were hopeful as it had great reviews.

They have outdoor sitting area as well, which also seemed very beautiful. The first impression was great. The service was good. The food tho was a bit of a disappointment. Just a simple omelette, potatoes and a toast, no veggies, no interesting sauces.. nothing. We sat in a separate banquet room and loved the ambiance and floor to ceiling windows. My white mocha only got better with each sip (chocolate settled at the bottom), and my cheeseburger made with Angus beef was so juicy and satisfying. I should've cut it in half to save room for the sweets. The salsa that came with my cousin's Quiche Lorraine and strawberry spinach salad was so delicious that I ordered a side of it for my fries. Urbano kindly shared the recipe when I asked. Although it was a red salsa, it also had tomatillos, which gave it the salsa verde flavor too. Wish they bottled that. My sister was ok with her Crab Cakes but wished she had ordered the Crab Benedict instead. I also had a couple bites of Nutella waffle that we ordered to share. Urbano also gave us a big cookie that we took to share later at the beach. How sweet!
