We've driven past here many times but I always thought it was previously frozen fish. Wow was I wrong! The fish here is definitely fresh and the portion size is what you would expect for the price (if you want cheaper stuff, go across the street to KOZO). The udon/teri chicken was perfect to share with my four year old and boy was the size of the teri chicken adorable. The bowl was the same size as a miso soup bowl (cant complain since the combo was only $11) My husband love the Sashimi cuts and it was nice thick pieces. The only reason for the four-star was the spicy ahi was not quite what I was expecting. It was more sweeter than spicy. They top it with a sweet chili sauce, which next time I'll ask them not to use but without it, I am unsure how the taste would balance out. Overall, we will probably be back since we live in Hawaii Kai but it's not my first choice. I'd rather drive to Kaneohe for Masa and Joyce or to King St for Mama Kim's or Kyungs. read more

Domo cafe is my go to for sushi platters- the size, quality and the taste is TOP TIER. The first time I ordered from them was for an office party I planned for a coworker & my boss told me that this was the place to go; he was absolutely right. My coworkers all went for the platters first, it was gone so quickly! That's a testament to how good it really was. My favorite platter is platter 9. I appreciate the fact that they don't overdo the Mayo (just a personal preference) and that the fish is seared perfectly. Yay for more dining options around the area! For the entire month of January you can get anything - yes anything! Off their menu for 20% off! I've been to the other locations and wasn't super impressed. I get really sensitive to slightly old hamachi for some reasons but this didn't deter me to try out their new location located right across of kahala mall where petland and assaggio is. They have their own parking lot and it was sufficient enough for the time being. Maybe not so much later during dinner time when things get back to normal. I ordered the Aburi nigiri which came with 2 pieces of salmon, hamachi, and shrimp for about $10 after discount. It was super good but also wasn't enough. You might need to order two items or maybe a platter to really be satisfied. Service was sufficient but I guess where the line forms and where people wait was kinda weird placement. Maybe the line has to form outside after a certain capacity cause I hid in between tables to stay away from the line when I was sitting on a chair. There was literally another customer right in front of me. Otherwise they have a lot of menu items but it took me awhile to order only cause what they had online was different. Located in Kahala, next to the UPS Store and Assaggio's, and across the street from Macy's in Kahala Mall. The prices are decent, not extreme like we're seeing in a lot of places. I ordered the spicy ahi poke bowl, and it was good. It wasn't awesome, but it was good, and the portion size was decent. I've been so disappointed with the other Poke bowl places that are charging so much more and serving lesser quality, that I stopped having poke bowls for quite some time. The fish was fresh, the cost for the Poke Bowl was about $12, and they served me right away, super fast service. It's definitely worth a try, and they've got plenty of Bento boxes and sushi options. I'll definitely be back to try some of their sushi rolls. There's lots of parking, and it's easy access. TLDR; decent Poke bowl and they have quite a few Sushi options. Can we all please take a moment to appreciate the best seared salmon bowl on the island!! This is the best thing I've ever eaten :) I finally got to try the seared salmon bowl after seeing it on Cheap Eats a while back when they first opened. I was a little skeptical at first wondering how good the quality was going to be and man did they surpass my expectations. The salmon was very fresh and soft where it would just melt in your mouth. Of course, you can't forget the garlic mayo to top off a seared salmon bowl. The only thing that I wish was to have it a little more seared.. I couldn't really tell if it was actually seared or not but nonetheless was the taste still amazing. The quality and texture of their rice was also top notch and just made the bowl that much better. They give a pretty generous amount for $12.95 considering that the fish is fresh. Domo Cafe is located across of Kahala Mall where Assagios and UPS is. Our udon was each plastic wrapped and placed in a plastic bag to make sure it didn't leak or spill really liked that. Udon was good, broth was good, filling for its size plus the side you also ordered. Shrimp tempura was good average as everywhere is about the same. Udon poke bowl combo I took spicy tuna. Super fresh tuna not imported frozen. Perfect little poke bowl to complement the udon. Also got a B3 sushi cause they have the best garlic salmon nigiri and also garlic shrimp. I don't always like salmon raw in sushi sashimi but this I can eat a whole filet! Cali roll also very fresh and large sized. After eating cheapy sushi places that have $3 Cali rolls this will be night and day different. I'm giving three stars only because it was my first time here and I n ow they just opened. I had the spicy ahi inari and they put so much of the syrup or sauce over it that it yolk away from the flavor of the fish. In that sense I was disappointed however, everything is fresh. When I first saw Domo Cafe open, I think I prejudged it, it's so unassuming from the outside, I figured it was a generic typical to go sushi place... I had very low expectations for this place. I was so surprised when I finally get it a try. I was in a rush and hungry and needed to grab something quality but quick. I happened to be right next to Domo and heading in to town so I swung by. The menu photos looked impressive, I opted for the Domo special. They were quick, friendly, accepts Apple Pay, and had my food ready for me in under 10 mins. The mix of fish and rise with avo and ginger and furikake was soooo good. The flavor was on point and not too overbearing so you can still enjoy the taste of the fresh fish. Ever since they moved to kahala it has been so convenient to grab take out at Domo cafe whether I'm eating at home or going to the beach. It is located where lanikai juice used to be with ample parking. I ordered the spicy salmon and ikura which is the perfect combination. I love the sauce on the spicy salmon that gives it a little sweetness. The ikura is salty to give the bowl all the flavors it needs to finish the rice. I also ordered the lychee iced tea with lychee jelly that is very refreshing. We also ordered the mixed don which is spicy ahi and shoyu ahi and avocado. Poke is as fresh as it gets, I got the udon w/ Teri chicken combo and there onion poke bowl added avocado. I would recommend!!! we had to go to the kahala address because the one by rockza/sura closed down that location but it was worth the drive and the wait! So far this is the best poke I ever tried here on Oahu, they don't have as many poke choices as foodland does but you cant beat the freshness of there ingredients and you can also add on as you please. My mother has always told me that good things come to those wait... I guess she was right considering how delicious the takeout sushi was from Domo Cafe. The boyfriend and I were heading home after spending all morning at the beach. We quickly were able to make our way into the store to order. The interior of the place was nice, clean, and brand new. We ordered our food and were quoted a 25-30 minute wait. Not bad, the boyfriend and I figured that would be just enough time to run across the street to Kahala mall, grab a smoothie and come back right when out food was ready. From the time we ordered until we had the food in our hands, the wait took about an hour. When we finally got our hands on our food, I swear we ate like we hadn't been fed in days. The boyfriend and I did no talking--only eating. For takeout sushi this place is next level. We ordered the domo special bowl, salmon and ikura bowl, and garlic-grilled special. In my opinion both bowls lacked that extra oomph of flavor that made me want to say wow, that was incredible--however considering how hungry we were, they both were delicious nonetheless. The garlic-grilled special was my favorite of the three as it was delicious and filling. The fish here is fresh and this biz is still working out its kinks. The pieces of sushi here are decent size, they always taste fresh and the wait time is minimal. The Hamachi is one of my favorites and they give plenty wasabi, way more than other places. Make sure you check out their fridge area where they have different items. Sometimes they even have Uni, but you gotta check their instagram. Domo Cafe opened up in the Kahala area where the old Lanikai Juice location use to be in the plaza square where the UPS store and Assagios Kahala are. It's nice to have another eatery option in your neighborhood that's a little different and a bit more affordable than some of the other choices around, especially in the Kahala area. Domo Cafe comes off to me as something very similar to an Ahi & Vegetable as a cross between a sushi take out and a poke bowl eatery. They serve a variety of bentos that all include either poke or sushi and something else or both. The faves include Bento A8 which is a tempura, poke and nigiri option and B6 which is the salmon + ahi + hamachi nigiri. They also have poke salad for those watching their figure like I should be and a little heartier dishes like teriyaki chicken, unagi or sukiyaki bowls. If you're in the area it's worth taking a look to pick up some lunch or dinner to go. They also have bubble tea's as a nice treat to accompany your meal. read more

Located right across from the Macy's parking lot you'll find Domo Cafe. They've got another location in Chinatown, but at least parking is easier at this Kahala location. I've brought a friend here to order bowls to go during their grand opening special one time, and found myself coming back here to find a big jolly bowl of poke. I personally like the mixed poke bowl, and recently tried out the salmon bowl. Holy. The fish is just so fresh here and there's a good proportion of fish to rice scoop.
