Have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Menu has changed, yet again! Quality was has really gone down hill! Had the breaded steak/milanese de carne which I've had there so may times and it was full of fat! Thought I would try it again since last time it was horrible too! I could not eat it! We loved everything! Empanadas great, arroz great, tres letches amazing and the Sangria was also very good not to mention it is happy hour all day. Every Latin cuisine is represented so i know we will be back to try them all. The staff was super friendly, fast and attentive and even the owner came by and explained where our dishes are from in regards to their country of origin. I took my wife and daughter there on Mother's Day and had a terrible experience. We got a possibly underaged server who must have been new or a replacement. He got our drink orders wrong. We asked for lemon for the ice tea but that never came. Our orders were brought out at very different times. We sat and sat waiting for our desert and later again for the check. The food was bland and our three different dishes tasted very similar. When I expressed my concerns about the experience to the owner he seemed completely unconcerned and uninterested. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and provides ready and good help in making dining selections. This restaurant has a fascinating variety of South American and other Spanish cuisine, with authentic food from various countries. Among my fellow diners and myself, we selected a wide variety of dishes that uniformly looked and tasted good. Service is very prompt, also. I think the quality and tastiness of the food is well worth the price asked. To me, this is a very unique and special restaurant. My wife and I went here earlier this evening and I must say that we'll definitely be returning. We've struggled to find a good milanesa within the D.C. area and theirs by far is the absolute best. We also had some empanadas and finished the dinner down with some alfajores and churros. My family and I ( 9 of us) went to Don Churros July 6,2013 for dinner. Everyone raved about there dinner. I had the shrimp, rice and french fries, the sauce that my food was in was just delicious, I can't wait to go back again. I had Peruano Ceviche the first time I went here and had it again this time. It tastes very clean and fresh with lime and cilantro, as well as a spicy orange-colored sauce on the side that was very good. If you are afraid of raw fish like I was, this is the place to try it. This time we also had Chilean (with a verde sauce on the side) and fresh cheese (sprinkled with sugar on top) empanadas from their tapas menu - very, very tasty. Discounted Happy Hour beverages are a bonus. We had the same waiter both times and he made some good suggestions. The place can get crowed, so you might want to go early. I will be back! read more

This was my second trip there. First experience was 4 stars. Not so much this time. Service was abysmal at best. It was dead slow except for a large party occupying three tables pushed together. Other tables had not been cleaned yet so we had to wait. The waitress finally came for drink orders and left menus. She came back with drinks and took our order. They were advertising a holiday special of 2 entrees for $20.00. We asked what entrees were part of the special and were informed that they did not have that special on New Years Day. Seriously? What is a holiday special then? My wife finally ordered roasted chicken. Waitress came back to inform us that they were out. She should have been aware of that before we ordered. I understand that the food is prepared as ordered but it took almost 40 minutes before we got our dinner which was brought in by another waiter. Our waitress had vanished at some point. No one bothered to check to see if we needed anything else to drink or to ask if the food was okay. We finished dinner and after about 15 minutes I finally had to tackle a waiter (again... our waitress vanished) in order to get containers for leftovers and the bill. I order a chicken sandwiched with a price of $7.75 only had a few strips of onion, a small tomato, some melted cheese but no chicken. My friend order a soup of sancocho in the menu the price was $7.75 but got charge $8.00 the soup was just a tiny bowl of water with some tiny, tiny vegetables they forgot to seasoned the soup. Food was amazing. When it came to service, it was awful. One dish came out at a time, with 5 minute intervals. So you could say it was very awkward. And by the time all the food came out it was cold. Waitress was kind and helpful when we told her we did not like our entrees. However, the manager was not. We told him we did not like our steaks (which we had taken one to two bites out of) and his response was: I'll give you a 10% discount. We proceeded to tell him we would not pay for it. He responded by saying the food was good, it was just that we didn't like it. We again said we wouldn't pay for something we didn't eat and didn't like. So he then came back and said he would take one entree off and we had to pick which one. Beware if you call for delivery or pick-up! The hassle of getting the correct order made it not worth it. You might have a different experience if you dine-in, but their delivery/carry out system is not working. I called and tried to order food for 5 people. I could barely understand the man on the phone because it was so loud in the background and he could barely speak English. I started responding in Spanish to make things go more smoothly, but it didn't really help. Once I got to the restaurant to pick up my food, it was obvious that my order was wrong. Instead of getting potato soup, I got french fries. I was also missing one of my appetizers and a sandwich. We had to wait 30 minutes for them to make our missing food. They wouldn't put a rush on the order because other tables had been waiting over 30 minutes for their food(the employee's words, not mine). I expected that after all this hassle they would have at least given us free drinks while we waited, or given us the missing items for free, but we got no discount. Once we got home the first batch of food was already cold because we had to wait so long for the other orders to be made. As for the food, the portions of the appetizers were pretty small for the price. Also, we were very excited for the Churro con Chocolate Caliente(Churros with hot chocolate!) The hot chocolate was very liquidy so when you dipped the churros in you couldn't even taste the chocolate. The churros were very dry and mostly tasteless. read more

I went for an event at Don Churro last week with very high expectations of South American food. I had a reservation and they didn't respect that at all. When we arrived, there were no tables, no chairs. A lot of people were just standing waiting to be seated, us among those. After someone found us a table, nobody gave us a menu, no water, nothing...the food arrived late, cold, the service was awful. I have had so much better South American food in other places. When we were still eating, the manager, an unrespectful lady, told us she needed the table to play some game. WTF?? Who does that? You're paying for service and food, so at least let me finish my food. I will not recommend this restaurant at all. Very poor management! read more

After living in new jersy for so many years, finding a restaurant with Colombian food was very exciting. The place looked better than I anticipated, but that was the highlight of my night. To say that the service was slow is an understatement... at least it was friendly. The food was terrible and overpriced. The Arepas were the worst I've ever tried.... To the owner of this place, "learn to be friendly with ALL Clients" not to the ones that you think you should be. This guy (the owner) acted as the server once and I told him I wanted extra sauce on their pesto spaghetti and that I was willing to pay extra what ever the price might be. He simply declined with a horrible attitude, I told him that I have done it before and I paid for it and his face kept transforming to the point that I had not choice but to agree, however, his approach changed my mood and ruined my lunch. We arrived pretty late on a Saturday night and were greeted by Rosario and told we could sit where we wanted. The menu is extensive, and everything really looked good. We chose the Chilena (two seasoned beef enchiladas), Maduros (sweet plantains) and Pollo Saltado (marinated chicken), more than enough to feed two hungry people. Rosario was our server, and she was wonderful: helpful, attentive and of great humor. The food was excellent! It arrived quickly, was hot and absolutely delicious. The Chilena were well seasoned, not too juicy, great crust. The plantains were perfect: not overly sweet and cooked through completely. The chicken, well, not enough good can be said about this dish. The marinade was present as a bit of sauce, and everything just danced in our mouths! The flavors were plentiful and definitely in every bit of everything presented. The prices were very fair, the service great, the food absolutely delicious, the restaurant itself nicely decorated. Definitely going back for another visit! read more
