Such a great experience! Located in an area of heavy hitters that sell delicious Mexican food- Don Jorge's has set themselves apart with kind service and delicious food! My sisters and I came on a Sunday evening and were welcomed warmly by the girl in the front. The decor is so cute and they were playing the Cowboys Game in the corner. Our waiter was a really kind and older gentleman and would check in with us consistently. Our food was phenomenal and could only be made by people who appreciate the difference of fresh Mexican food and short cuts. They automatically started us with black beans and salsa with chips- delicious! I really appreciated the protein. Horchata 6/10 I've had better but it was good! Al Pastor Taco Plate- 8.5/10 freshly chopped onion and cilantro topped a classic Al pastor taco. Juicy and Rick flavors with a side of classic rice and beans. Shrimp Caldo- 10/10 we ATE IT UPP! Juicy, fresh and warm on a rainy evening. It was perfect. The mixture of spices, fresh chewy shrimp and warm tortillas on the side. Wonderful experience to eat! Ceviche Tostadas- 10/10 and spicyyy! This was the biggest stand out for my sisters and I. We grew up eating ceviche regularly and if the shrimp/fish is not slowly cooked in the lime juicy then it's not worth it. The fish was soft and filled with flavor surrounded by fresh ingredients. The jalapeño was definitely fighting me with the spice but the flavor was absolutely everything. The food is awesome but, the service kind of sucks.... The waitress often go to the back just to be on Her phone and leave the customers behind always asking for help. They should be more attentive and provide better customer service. Also, it is really annoying that the kitchen music is louder than the tv's that supposed to be for the customer enjoyment. This place had the best salsa I have found in Dallas so far. That salsa and the birria tacos will definitely keep me coming back, but I'm very disappointed by the queso. It tasted like concession stand nacho cheese. The mole was also very good. I ordered the mole chicken enchiladas and was really looking forward to them, but I got a chicken leg and a small thigh that were both pretty dry slathered in mole. It was pretty disappointing. On the average, this place was meh. The good things are good, but they seemed to make a couple odd choices. read more

First of all.. I ordered 7 fajita & Barbacoa tacos on corn tortillas. I requested cilantro, onions, & limes.. for ALL tacos. Honestly idk how you got me so fckd up. DON JORGES IS AMAZING! We are from California close to Mexico so we are VERY picky about our Mexican food (and don't like TexMex). When we found Don Jorges a few years ago we were so delighted! Very tasty AUTHENTIC Mexican food and some of the best salsa we've had in Texas (bit of a kick to it). Authentic carne asada tacos, tortas, and much more. AND for the TexMex lovers out there they seem to have a solid selection, though I haven't tried anything from that part of the menu. Tonight-- I think we perfected our order. We ordered (to share) the Jorge Burrito and replaced the chicken with fajitas. When deciding what sauce to top it off with the waitress recommended the "Diablo" sauce! it was HOT but very good! We got two corn tortilla fajita tacos too. Everything was top notch and we left very satisfied! We've tried most of the Mexican restaurants in the PG area and Don Jorges is the only one that keeps us coming back for more! Found this place on Yelp, its bit out our comfort zone but it was pretty good, I ordered chicken fajitas but they brought me mixed with steak, the chicken was great but the steak had a funky flavor. My husband has 2 enchiladas and a crispy taco , his was all very good. This is pretty authentic, definitely not Tex Mex would of given 5 stars but messed up my fajitas. Passed this place a hundred times and didn't know it was there until I saw it on Yelp. It's a tad smaller than most places. However, the salsa and the food were both very good. It's also very clean. I had the Jorge Burrito with chicken fajita meat and it was excellent. I look forward to going back to this "new" spot agin in the future. read more

AMAZING. my husband doesn't even like mexican food, but this place is so great. best tip? sour cream enchiladas and black beans!!! they have something special in the enchiladas that has me thinking about them literally every other day... and the salsa has a great kick with a lime-y flavor. YUM!!! oh, and did i mention they make their own CORN tortillas?? yep, they do and they are awesome. i am highly recommending them to all of our friends and fam. granted, they are in pleasant grove and i know that's sometimes sketchy but this place is totally WORTH IT. if you're looking for real authentic and delicious mexican food, you've got to at least try don jorge's!!! read more

My family and I have frequented this restaurant for over 10 years. My mother eats here at least twice a week and I don't blame her. My favorite plate is the Tex-mex enchiladas. Some of the other items are a fusion of classic mexican and high end cuisine. Prices are very reasonable and allow me and my family to come often and try different dishes.
