Terrible!!! My first experience here wasn't great awhile ago. My boyfriend wanted to try it so I went back. BIG mistake. He found something hard in his food. We couldn't figure out what the heck it was so he brought it up to the counter and the person behind the counter said he didn't know what it was and sorry. Boy am I disappointed in this place. While it is a cute and very clean establishment the food was awful. I did a create your own burrito bowl. I chose brown rice, black beans and pulled chicken. I topped it with lettuce, corn, chipotle sauce, cheese, sour cream and medium salsa. The portion was HUGE, for mean it could have easily been 2-3 meals. Sadly even with the chipotle sauce and salsa it was so bland. There was zero flavor or seasoning to anything. I was really hoping for bold flavors but got none. I could literally make this but better tasting at home. My second issue is the paper bowl it was served in. When I picked it up to throw out my trash (which was 3/4 of my meal) the bottom of the bowl has soaked through and ripped and made a gigantic mess everywhere. They should probably invest in something sturdier. I don't think I'd recommend this place or go back. You'd get a better meal at Chipotle. read more

I came with my family on Friday night, it wasn't busy and the staff was very friendly. I ordered traditional tacos hoping they'll be as good as the ones I'm used to have, they were ok. The steak taco was good but pretty small and only had onion and cilantro, no tomatoes no lime. The fish taco was a small fried piece of tilapia. The chips are extra. "Meh" and "Man, I'm an idiot I got ripped off" is what comes to mind when I had the food here. One would think they have multiple locations they have to be doing something right...right?? The customer service here is great, the typical older woman employee that is here is a 5. The environment is a 3, it looks nice inside, but you'd think with the prices I'd be able to sit in an air conditioned establishment. Other positives is that you can customize each taco and order tacos individually instead of say $9 for 3 all beef tacos. I feel like you pay for that though in the price. Chips and guac are good Hint: order out but definitely call to place your order or order in person. I had an issue with placing an order online and then called in. I will say they did credit me back the double order, but not after having to come back in person twice. Still here? These are all my opinions based on living in Texas for 27 years, before moving up here. So I'd say I'm a Tex Mex expert. Cons: -Lacking Flavor, Pricey I think a beginner cook would do better with a packet of McCormick taco seasoning and a can of Rotel. Beef and Cheese Empanadas are disappointing. The meat was dry and the cheese was all in one place instead of mixed with the meat. It taste like a unseasoned deep fried hamburger patty. Cumin, onion, oregano anyone? The Bravo steak tacos looked like something I could have just done at home. Amount of meat in the taco makes it look like I ordered a vegetarian taco. Churros, $4 for two churros smaller than two highlighters???...They were the size of chubby kid crayons. I might as well bought a cinnamon sugar donut for .70 at Weis. Chorizo in the bowl was lacking flavor, it just killed the bowl, despite the quantity and cost. Can't have all three something has to be sacrificed. Summary: Cons: proteins are lacking in flavor, very plain, over priced, dry, extra charges for sauce, pico, ect., doesnt taste Mexican at all, where are the spices? Pros: customer service with employees on site, chips and guac, after some stops in person I received a refund on a misorder. Needless to say I will not be returning. I'd rather take the 30 minutes it takes to stop at Weis to buy and make tacos at a home than the 10 minutes it takes to drive here and home. read more

We have been customers since the restaurant opened on Crawford Avenue, Bethlehem. We like to dine in and have been back weekly since the Covid restrictions lifted. The reason for the bad review is because since May 5 the soda machine has been broken so, no diet soda. Absolutely terrible meal. I've had Don Juan catered at work events in the past and it was amazing. Our most recent visit was terrible. We ordered take out and realized once we got home our tacos were extremely soggy. I picked up a taco to eat it and "water" completely poured out of it. We have recently had delivery and pick up from here. Both times, the orders were accurate, punctual, packaged well, and delicious! Reasonable prices and make it easy to have a casual mexican meal. No big deal...we live close so I ran back. The woman I handed the bag to didn't say a word and left me standing at the counter for several minutes. I finally asked if I could get a refund on the item since my food at home was getting cold. She came out and asked if she could make me another one, and I said sure. 5 minutes later she came back and said it would be 7 min for Mexican rice. I told her please give me a credit so I could just leave. She then made a burrito with white rice and promised to give us a credit. A week later and still no credit on our account. We stopped in for the first time a week ago, and came back a few days later for more! The food is really good- I had the carnitas traditional style tacos and they were wonderful! The pork was tender and moist, with amazing seasoning. The empanadas are good- not quite as large as Puerto Rican ones, but the ground beef inside was tasty and well seasoned. The fresh salsas are great! We had the garlic salsa and poured it on everything, it was so yummy. We just moved to the Bethlehem area from NC a few months ago and have been looking for good inexpensive Mexican food. Don Juan is the place! Thanks to Juan for welcoming us!! read more
