My standards are to get the "popular" or leading menu item(s) the first time, usually cheap tacos so get a few to sample: chorizo, pollo, and barbacoa. They just didn't have much flavor to them or anything unique to draw me in. The sauces (red and green) are very good but they didn't add enough zip for me. I rarely leave food on the table but did this time. On a very positive note - very friendly staff and clean kitchen and eating areas. The seafood soup some gentlemen were eating looked great and the staff recommended the large version for more seafood. Give it a try, but there are street places nearby I put a bit higher.

They use crema instead of sour cream, the enchilada sauce is thick and has a great spicy kick, and they stick with traditional staples like corn tortillas. You can tell they care about doing things the right way. Overall, the meal was outstanding--easily some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. The portions were very generous. The beans were creamy with a nice amount of cheese mixed in, and the rice was full of flavor--you could taste the chicken bouillon, tomato, and spices in every bite. Everything was topped with cotija cheese and served with a fresh, well-done salad. All of that was just $12 for a three-enchilada plate, which is an incredible value for the quality and portion size.
