Hey what a great little spot. I popped in for lunch and grabbed a carnitas burrito at the recommendation of the nice man at the counter. It was fantastic! Tender pork with all the fixens inside. You can't go wrong. Plus they have this bomb green salsa that put it over the top for me. In the town of Swedish or dutch buildings or whatever they are, this mexican place hit the spot. Not that this place needs another great review because they are doing so well, but they are a little hidden. The service was excellent on both visits. The food amazing !!! We had sopes delivered asada very good meat for my preference I would have love the sope to have been a little more of the crispy side but regardless they were delicious.. the tortilla chips and salsa were delicious freshly made .. rice beans all good .. definitely give them a try. read more

Went here for the first time while in Solvang and the service was great. Staff are both kind and attentive. My boyfriend and I got a Torta and a plain burrito. Our food came out quick and it was delicious. The ambiance and seating outside is also very cute and well lit. Recently stopped by this little cafe for lunch and we were not disappointed. It's located in a little cluster of businesses off Alisal Rd (use the back parking lot instead of fighting for street parking). We ordered the pupusas (pork) & the al pastor burrito. The pupusas come with a cabbage mixture and salsa that goes over them, along with rice & beans (honestly, the best beans I've had). The cabbage was a bit spicy for me, but 'spicy' and I don't mix well. The pupusas though, were really great without them. The burrito was ample & tasty, my son's new favorite. The owner was friendly & service was quick. Definitely our 'go to' Mexican place in Solvang. read more

Stopped off for Mexican food on our way home from Ojai- was excited to try Don Nachos due to their high ratings . The food was extremely bland - tasteless. From the chicken , to the Suisa enchilada , the fajitas, even the salsa had no flavor ... the tap water had a very unpleasant taste as well . On the plus side , the place was very clean and the employees were friendly . They need better flavorings and spices to give more taste and earn their 4.6 rating ! read more

I found this place after seeing an article posted online. I drive down Alisal regularly but hadn't seen this spot before. It's a cute location, but there is not very much seating. They are clearly very popular because I came on a Monday during the lunch hour and they were crowded. You order at the counter and then your food is brought out to you. My only complaint is that they don't include chips and salsa in your meal- you have to pay extra. I ordered the chicken burrito which was sooo good. My husband said it may be the best chicken burrito he's ever had. And their salsa has the perfect amount of spice. The staff were all very friendly. Parking could be a bit tricky, but Alisal does have a lot available out front if you can fight the tourist traffic. Prices are reasonable and the portions are pretty big. read more

Small spot for decent Mexican fast-food and vegetarian options. It's minimal ambiance and simple seating area. We shared a nacho plate with the meat on the side, and a guacamole side dish. I should have asked for more beans but it was a tasty dish. Only beer served plus sodas and tea. Service was okay and fairly quick. Only 4 tables for seating. Not busy when we were there. I take my kids to Solvang all the time, so it was surprising when I saw an article online about how good the food was here. (I had never seen/been there) The decor and ambience felt like an authentic taco spot but the food was not so great. The carne asada and pastor fell short, pastor had no flavor and the asada tacos were also pooled in oil. The service wasnt great. They put all the tacos on one plate, didnt give extra plates and for our family they left 3 napkins. They came back and gave a tomato based blended salsa that had no texture or flavor. We spent over $40 and ended up not finishing our food (my kids never turn down mexican food) and ate elsewhere. Wouldn't go back. read more

You'll find this place nestled in the back of the shopping center. The chips and salsa; some of the best we ever had! Chips were airy, crispy and the salsa a tad spicy but so so good! Don Nacho's is very hard to find on Alisal Road, just look for the "windmill" on the roof and just across the street from the fudge store. I've read most of the Don Nacho's reviews and they've taken all the "wind out of my sails", so I'm not going to repeat all the other positive, My wife and I agree, their food offerings are some of the best ever. The refried beans and the green salsa are the best! I did order the (3) enchilada suizas, assorted meats, chicken, beef, and carnitas, unbelievably great! Very good and authentic food. We got the street tacos, and red enchiladas. The salsa with our chips was roasted tomato, and had a little spicy. Nice place- lots of choices on menu. . 3 adults had dinner + pitcher of modelo for under $60. The beer was cold, fresh and the glasses came with sliced limes. My carne asada torta was delicious, served with really tasty fries. A beef fajita order got two thumbs up, though they said beans were salty.
