Guest had al pastor tacos and I had the Takitos Mexicanos. We were served Guacamole that was runny. The quality and flavor of the meat used in both dishes was poor at best. I usually go for the fajitas or seafood dishes, and I'd say about 75% of the time, the food is spot on. There have been a few occasions where the food wasn't as great or was a little overcooked, but overall, it's pretty consistent. 1st off , the restaurant was clean which is a + The chips didnt have any salt or flavor at 1st , but flavorful salsa made up for the bland chips. The tacos we had were excellent. I was afraid that they would be "runny". B/c the previous Mexican restaurants we have visited had that problem. With alot of mexican restaurants you have either 1) good food / horrible drinks or 2) bad food / good drinks. This place had a good balance of "good and good" . I love the ambiance of this restaurant. It has dim lighting and plenty of space to sit (booths and tables). The chips and salsa are really good! The chips are perfectly salted and the salsa is very mild. The queso is also probably the best I've had in the Ohio region. The staff is also super friendly, and food comes out quick!! I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga and it was really good. The tortilla was crisp and the veggies were well cooked! I asked for the hot sauce and it was really spicy, so be careful if you have a low tolerance for spicy. Overall, I highly recommend. I came to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I actually came to get a gift card because someone else told me how great the place was and that they were coming this weekend. Somebody that had done something nice for me and I wanted to return the favor with a gift card. But ambience and the people there were so kind and friendly and welcoming that I felt the need to come back for dinner. I came back with my Spanish speaking exchange student from Spain. He loved speaking his native tongue again. The waiter was able to recommend a couple of dishes to us that we decided to get on his recommendation and they were amazing. I had the shrimp and scallop fajitas so delicious. My exchange student had some kind of beef and cheese taco that was fried. It was quite delicious, but I can't recall the name. Something they don't typically have on the menu, but was recommended to him. I put the name of what he had in the photos that I attached. I can't seem to pull the photo up to look at it though. Anyways, if you're looking for a great place to eat Mexican food, that's very homey, beautiful decorations, and wonderful people check this place out. I can't believe this restaurant has been practically in my backyard for a couple years and I had no idea. I'll be coming here regularly. read more

Had a Saturday late lunch at Don Patron and it hit the spot! Jumbo lime margaritas are tasty and strong (no salt on the rim though). Chips were ok, but the flavorful salsa was tasty! I got the bean tostaguac (basically a tostada with guacamole) and it kind of lacked flavor. I would suggest adding queso for more flavor. My bf got the Texas Special and added beef tips. The combination of queso and beef tips were absolutely Scrumdiddlyumptious. We did not receive free shots at the end of our meal, but I would guess that is either due to COVID (saving money) or our early seating (we were there around 3). We had a pretty good experience overall. The Durango burrito was delicious. I loved the cheese sauce on top, and the steak, chicken and shrimp together were awesome. The Patron burrito was also good, but my wife didn't taste as much pineapple as she expected. The chips and salsa were top notch, and the jumbo margs were humungous. The service wasn't bad, but also wasn't the best either. I really needed a napkin and the server came up and before I could ask for some, gave us each a shot of tequila and walked away. I never got the napkin, or an explanation for why we got the shots, but I guess you could also call that awesome service, I mean, free tequila is cool. read more

Looked like Mexican food but didn't taste like Mexican food. The chimichangas were not fried like they are supposed to be. They were regular tortillas, a bit on the chewy side. The chicken inside wasn't bad. The toppings were kind of gross. Some shredded lettuce, a half slice of tomato and some refried beans. The beans were good. The second meal was a burrito. The red sauce smeared on top was too much like pizza sauce. It it was supposed to be ranchero sauce, it failed. The meat was just ground beef, lightly seasoned. Not bad, but not the best. There was no cheese, that I could see, on top. No rice or beans. For that price they could have included a dollop of each at the very least. The salsa had no spice or heat at all. We love this place! Best Mexican food in the area. I have two teenagers and they are always excited to come here. The food is excellent. It comes out quickly and the price is right. I usually get the fajitas and I am never disappointed. Very generous portions. My kids mix it up. They have gotten their tacos, burritos as well as their enchiladas. They have always been pleased. I also shouldn't forget to mention the free chips and salsa. It is hard to stop eating them. You always need to remember to save room for the main course! The food is always top notch. Why I write this review is for the COVID-19 precautions they have taken to maintain customer health. 1. The bar and cashier have a plexi glass screen. 2. There is a hand saniziter station for customers next to the cashier. 3. They have created a traffic flow pattern, using tables, to direct traffic flow. Yesterday, Sunday, offers a jumbo margarita for only $5.00, so of course I tried one. It was very good and you can actually taste the tequila in it. Also tried the cheese dip ($3.50). Excellent! their salsa is a little bit spicy, so if you don't like heat go directly to the cheese dip. If you do like spicy you will enjoy the taste of their salsa. For dinner I had the Cozumel, a flour tortilla filled with pork and cooked with onions and bell peppers, covered with cheese and brown sauce ($10.99). When I say it was filled with pork, I mean it was stuffed. Seared nicely, the pork was just full of flavor. They do it right! Everything they produced was just dripping with taste. Now I have a dilemma: When I return should I try something different or stay with something I know is good? Such a problem! The only problems I encountered are I had to remind the waiter that I ordered a margarita. He apparently forgot. I also had to remind him I ordered the cheese dip, even though two of us ordered cheese dip at the same time and he served the other person right away. Also, one of the party had a shrimp fajita and complained the shrimp was sparse. But another person had a shrimp burrito and said the burrito was full of shrimp. So I can only go by what I ate and my meal (I will excuse the waiter this one time because of the quality of the food and hope he gets better as time goes on) was as good as it gets. read more

My friend picked up take out for us (2 people). It was awful. The burritos were almost tasteless and her dinner was a mess. For two people we received a very small bag of chips and a tiny container of salsa and another tiny container of white cheese. We had to split the dips. NO NAPKINS OR SILVERWARE. HORRID. Especially, with COVID-19 going on, one would think a restauranteur would try a bit harder to please the public. This place is a hidden gem in Hudson. I have lived about 5 miles away from it for years, and I have never ventured there before. I went for the first time last week, and it did not disappoint. While it did take a few minutes longer than usual to get the waiter's attention to get our drink order, the food was good and the service was uphill after that.
