After our waitress took our order, my gf did not get the mayo on the side as she had asked, and after we received our food, our waitress never came around to check on us, didn't refill our drinks or anything. The place was very loud, louder than visiting waffle house. I was trying to have a conversation with my gf sitting just across the table from one another, and we were having to literally yell at one another just to hear what each other were saying. My gf did state that the sandwich she ordered was a big sandwich, and was more than she could finish. Once we were ready to go, our waitress still hadn't been around to check on us. So I had to flag down someone else, to get us some to go boxes, and our check. Low and behold, when I was ready to checkout, the waitress appears out of nowhere, after all this time, I'm guessing because she thought she was going to get a good tip. I'm sorry, waitstaff only get a great tip from me, once and if they perform a great job duty, and this was not the case in this matter. Maybe, better luck next time, maybe Papas needs to hire better waitstaff worth hiring and keeping.

In contrast the gas station operator on this corner a month ago met me outside with a baseball bat cuz I asked one of his customers for 50 cents for a cigar. Today, I returned and ordered 2 fried shrimp tacos. The first batch was saturated with the red hot sauce. Normally, the tacos come with a light drizzle of both the red and white sauces, but this time they were completely soaked and far too spicy to eat. I politely sent them back and asked for them to be remade. Unfortunately, the replacement tacos were just as disappointing because the shrimp was severely overcooked. It honestly seemed as though the original shrimp may have been re-battered and fried again. Considering your tacos cost around $6.95 each, I expect much better food quality and consistency. I want to also mention that the young man working the front counter was friendly and professional throughout the interaction, and I appreciate his attitude and customer service. However, the food quality has declined significantly compared to what it used to be. Because of these repeated issues, I am requesting a refund for the four shrimp tacos purchased today. For me, I learned on this trip that I might just be a home-cooked breakfast taco person! Love that we tried them, but I needed a bit more flavor. That said, the price point and portion sizes are great, and you definitely get plenty of food for what you pay. A quick pro tip if you order: don't be fooled by the potato options. I thought adding potatoes would make the taco feel heartier, but it ended up being an off-balance mix with way too much potato and barely any egg. The simple egg and bacon taco was actually much heartier and ended up being my favorite. Also, I'd skip getting just a straight meat taco by itself. The tacos definitely need egg or toppings with them, and you 100% need to add salsa for flavor since the base filling is pretty mild on seasoning. Decent overall experience!
