As always dinner here is on point. Haven't been here in a bit since it's not anywhere near my house but was in the area. Same owners I believe as senor Pepes in the rosedale area. Home made tortillas alone should be bringing a crowd into this little gem. The rice was nice fluffy and tasty. Beans tasted like real refried pot beans to. I always get the VISTA DEL MAR which is chicken shrimp and crap cooked in butter served with melted cheese and avocado. It's my go to. I would give this place a 5 star but they don't have any beer on tap. All bottles The salsa was also tasty. Not hot enough for what I would prefer but very flavorful. read more

What I love about this place is their consistency. I come here for the chili verde huevos rancheros. They are the best I've had outside of homemade. Hash browns and beans are cooked perfectly and the chili verde sauce is super tasty! The restaurant is spacious with ample seating and a nice jukebox. You can even get a spicy Bloody Mary at 9AM and they too are delicious and inexpensive. Early morning breakfast here will not disappoint. read more

Both times I've been here I have waited 20 minutes for someone to come take out food order. I can understand if the place was busy except today we went in right after they opened and weren't busy at all and still waited 20 minutes. Worth it! I've been around the world and one thing I've realized is that there are so many variations of types of foods, flavors, and the way the food is cooked. Don's menu is pretty straight forward, and almost feels like it's missing something. The menu feels "generic" to me. By that I mean it looks like the same stuff you'd find at any other Mexican restaurant. I bring this up because I feel they are holding back, perhaps they have a different way they cook or flavors. Perhaps the food would be considered more Salvadoran, Peruvian, Argentino, etc. The food was really good, but if I make any suggestion at all it would be to put more of your original / ethnic foods on the menu. If not, it's ok too. The food quality and taste was good and definitely worth checking out. I liked the inside of the restaurant. It was small but nice. If they don't already do this, I would recommend they have some entertainment on Fridays through the weekend. Maybe have some ethnic music and dancing. That could be Mariachi music and Folklorico. I've been coming here for years for the taco Tuesday special (3 tacos and a margarita 8$ I think ) . Or I also enjoy the bean and cheese pupusas which are huge and under $4 . However today I had Don Pepe chicken tacos . The service was fast and the food good . My only minor thing was the taco were so full when trying to take a bite , the taco broke . Overall a good problem to have I suppose . What caught my interest though, the table across from me obviously wanted a free meal they kept complaining about the food, they insisted things were under seasoned and burnt . Went with some friends a week prior and had the best seafood nachos and chicken flautas. So I figured why not go again the following week. Big mistake! The server was super rude to me and when I proceeded to order the flautas, she rudely asked what kind. Told her beef flour flautas, which she then gave me a dirty look before walking away to turn my order in. When the flautas was brought out, I've noticed that it did not look like flautas at all! She argued with me that I don't know what flautas look like and that it's how it should look?!! Well told her I was there a week ago and had the same thing and they were fried but that bish thinks that I am an idiot. When I was ready to leave and the check was brought to me, that waitress all of a sudden became super nice since it's tipping time! I paid up and left! My husband was craving either chili rellenos or chili colorado so I did a search on Yelp and I found both items on their menu. This place has been around for a long time but I couldn't remember having eaten there before. My husband said he thought he had maybe eaten there with a friend. We started out with a couple of cadillac margaritas which proved to be quite strong. We both enjoyed the chips and salsa. He chose the Relleno Poblano with rice, beans and corn tortillas. I chose the Chili Colorado, with rice, beans and corn tortillas. We shared. We were both pleasantly surprised with how flavorful everything was. Excellent Mexican food. We had the 3 item combination plate which was $9.95. The beans were exquisite and the rice was very moist. The Chile relleno was really good. The hard taco with shredded beef was really flavorful. The sauce they used to put on top of the enchilada and the Chile relleno was the same with lots of flavors. They bring complementary chips and salsa which are always appreciated. We asked for spicier salsa which they brought free of charge and it had just the right amount of spiciness. The waitress was bilingual and she was a super nice lady who checked on us a few times. The bathrooms were extremely clean. We definitely recommend this place :) read more

I came with my daughters niece and sister for a girls night out and it was horrible!!! I ordered a Cadillac Margarita with a shot of Grand Marnier and the Margarita was made with sprite!! For my meal I ordered Vista Del Mar, it was supposed to come with crabmeat shrimp and chicken with a creamy sauce rice and beans. Where the crab meant was I don't know. I told them it wasn't in the plate, they brought some crabmeat juice and cheese without the crab. I was Over it and kindly declined the dining experience overall.
