I am writing this after dining with friends last night. Each one of us had leftovers. You get a very reasonable AUTHENTIC portion for 2 meals. I love the friendly staff. They have helped me try new dishes, never disappointed. Love supporting this team.

10/10 would recommend if you're looking for some good cuban food, with excellent service. My husband, sister in law, & I came here and I will be back. We arrived maybe 1 hour before closing and were still treated well. The portions were large for a very decent price and the environment was clean and cozy feeling. Our waiter was so sweet and the food was delish.

from the moment we parked, we knew this place had been here forever or was an original building. My father and I went for dinner Saturday night and it couldn't be any more static to walk in to a fine casual family oriented Cuban restaurant that have been there for well over 30 years. We used to go to Casa Romeo in Pembroke Pines for 25 years and we were super sad when we heard the news of them closing. Would that be in said we took a 25 minute drive to go have some dinner and we couldn't be more pleased with how satisfied how flavorful and how great the service was. As soon as we sat down, the servers were attended to us very nice bilingual so in case you speak English, it's still an amazing spot to enjoy. We ordered the Chicharittas, along side of that they're warm garlic bread that's toasted came out with it. But Chicharittas were perfectly cooked. Thinly shaved, not overcooked perfect amount of garlic on there however, I believe it did have a lot of onions on top. I love onions, but I love the garlic mojo over Chicharittas a lot more! For dinner, my dad ordered the Bistec de Empanizado, with Arroz moro and yucca! That's usually my go to order however I ordered the Masas de Cerdo with arroz moro and tostones! Pork chunks perfectly cooked soft in the middle flavorful. The steak was really really good, thinly battered and fried, just enough chopped onions on the plate to where it didn't overdo it. the rice of course my favorite because nobody does it better! The yucca could have used a little bit more garlic sauce, but they give you some on the side so you can add it as you please, so I really appreciated that and the tostones, yummy-- Also served with the garlic mojo on the side. of course we had to finish off with Cuban coffee ! we shared both dishes, we love them and we were super happy when we left. There aren't many Cuban restaurants that are actually good and genuinely flavorful with a background of history. we will definitely be back !

Not too sure why their reviews are 3.7, as we completely enjoyed our entire experience! We originally planned to go to Havana, but they were closed. We walked & stumbled upon Don Ramon. So so glad we did. Large food portions, affordable, & DELICIOUS! Our party of 3 literally ate everything!!! Service was good, gentleman was super super kind! just a little slow considering it was a Monday & not busy but WOW other than that 10/10. Definitely will be back!

Excellent Cuban food! Great live entertainment. Well stocked bar but a def minus not having a bartender esp. on a Friday! I've had several excellent Cuban dinners there. Done takeout too. Parking lot is tight and scary. Service is better on weekends. My guy on Friday did not want to serve a single customer, at the bar. I do better on weeknights. Love the pianist playing standards.

I haven't been to a Don Ramon in decades! Came by with some old friends for lunch. This is the one off of Dixie not Military. When we pulled up 11 am or so into the parking lot, we thought they went out of business or not open yet. I guess we were the first ones to get there that day. Whatever. Friendly greetings for us, seated immediately with menus and drink orders taken. Big menu, I kept it pretty traditional and just got the Pan con Bistec. Good sized steak sandwich, straightforward and simple. Comes with sweet plantains or fries. Bread seemed fresh, steak was fine, no issues from me. Everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy their lunch too. Staff was friendly, fairly quick to get your order out and get you anything else you may need. Prices are about what I thought it would be. Nice lunch visit for us, nice to hit up an old school spot from back in the day!

Been driving past this place thinking it was a steakhouse for years until I saw a TV article on the place. It is clearly an established Cuban restaurant. So in we go to great welcome from Jorge a knowledgeable and friendly server. Cuban food is pretty simple but asked for advice and tried a beef dish with white rice and pork dish with yellow rice plantains and the rest. Generous portion washed down with Mojitos. Started with what I call pork scratching but are deep fried belly bits Great starter. Finished with Traditional flan with coconut. Will come again. Seems they have live music on weekends. Not Tito but I am sure just great like the rest of place Lots of parking right outside

Free restaurant parking. Ample seating, separate bar area. Tables and booth seating, good cuban food with ample portions. Good stuff! Had the Marquita's-fried Plantain chips, dinner special was Cuban sampler that was very generous, then cafe con leche. All good.

So good. Love the food and staff. Been coming here for many years. Still like Havana next door but this is the best.

The sangria was absolutely delicious and refreshingly cold This restaurant feels so cozy. You have to go down a ramp to go into the front of the restaurant. You have to park up slight hill, then walk down to find the entrance. The service was slow but pleasant. The place was pretty busy around lunch time, as they do have specials from 12-3 pm. I left completely stuffed with left overs. But i did have a lot of sangria! It was so good!

The food is always great. Our server knows us every time we come so the service is always good. And the ambiance is perfect. Their churassco is great. Try their Black coral colada

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

We had a very long table and the servers were great in getting our orders. I ordered the Horchata in the lunch special, Lechon asado. The Horchata was delicious and not too sweet, which was great. I really liked my lechon asado. It was a good portion but the one thing is my plantains were pretty burned. I also got to try some of my mom's tacos. And those were yummy as well. Would come back!

The colorful décor and nostalgic touches throughout the dining room create a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels more like sharing a meal with family than dining out. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated that they were bilingual, making everyone feel comfortable and at home. We shared the Bandeja La Casa del Mofongo con Tostones, loaded with chicharrón de puerco, chicharrón de pollo, masitas de cerdo, salami, and queso. At $22.99, the portion was incredibly generous and easily large enough to share. The meats were flavorful and well-prepared, with the pork perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The tostones were fried to perfection! If you're craving authentic Dominican cuisine , La Casa del Mofongo is definitely a place worth adding to your list.

Curious and hungry, we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza, and I have to admit, the dark tinted windows made the place seem a little questionable at first glance. I actually got out of the car to peek inside before committing. Once I saw several people dining and enjoying themselves, we decided to give it a shot. Inside, the restaurant was tastefully decorated with a charming Dominican countryside flair. Even the bathrooms had a playful sense of humor that added character to the place. Service started off promptly, and we were seated right away with menus in hand. However, while browsing the menu, I quickly realized that despite the restaurant's name, there were very limited Puerto Rican options aside from the different varieties of mofongo. The menu was overwhelmingly Dominican cuisine, which was a bit disappointing since we specifically came looking for Puerto Rican dishes. We ordered the empanada de cangrejo to start, which was flavorful and freshly made. We also shared the mofongo with masitas fritas, and I will say the food itself was well seasoned, hearty, and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress lacked warmth and wasn't particularly attentive. What stood out the most was that she didn't know what sorullos or alcapurrias were, which caught me completely off guard considering we were searching for Puerto Rican cuisine. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience didn't fully meet our expectations. If you're looking for Dominican-style mofongo dishes, you may enjoy it. But if you're specifically craving traditional Puerto Rican cuisine, this may not quite hit the mark.
