Birria tacos
Thiago D.

Great little gem in Passaic for authentic Mexican food. Make sure to bring cash as they don't accept cards, but no worries if you forget because they do have an ATM inside. There is Mexican decor everywhere, so you really feel like you're in Mexico when you step inside! Servers are friendly and food comes out pretty quick. We went with the large guacamole and it was a good starter. Birria tacos are delicious and highly recommended. If you order the chicken quesadillas like I did you might not even need a starter because I was absolutely stuffed with the 3 pieces it came with. Tasty though!

It's taco Tuesday! It's starting to feel a bit more like spring now a days so hubby and I went to try this spot that my friend Sheila recommended. Overall the place is beautiful. It's spacious and has all kinds of Mexican art on the walls. No one really greeted us upon entering so we went to where the bar area was and asked if we could just sit anywhere. We went straight to the bathrooms soon after sitting down and being given menus. I really appreciate a clean bathroom especially during these times and they had a Fabuloso clean smelling one ;) We came for the $1 tacos and the hype of how good they were. I ordered two steak and two chorizo. They were delicious! Definitely made my Mexican heart happy. My husband had two steak, two cabeza (tender cow head meat), and one chicken. He had me try the cabeza ones and they were so tender we had to take some to go. One thing I didn't really appreciate was that our server didn't really introduce herself. It would have been nice to know her name. Would of made the experience a bit more amicable. She never once asked how we were liking it or what we thought. Or if we needed anything else. She had about 5 or 6 tables so she seemed busy but still no excuse. I used to be a waitress but I learned that just communicating a bit more will go a very long way. It felt like we were telling her what to do next every step of the way until we left. Her attitude about that was not very good either she seemed annoyed by us. Overall I enjoyed the food and the space despite the lack of service. I will definitely be back and recommend to my friends and family. How can you beat the $1 tacos! We ended up getting 14 tacos all together and two drinks for $20. Very affordable.

The best dollar taco I have ever tasted so far. I keep coming back! My fav taco to order are the chorizo and bistec ones. And you also have the option to order the taco with one tortilla since they normally come with two. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that they only accept cash.

Live music plus dollar tacos? You can't go wrong with either or. The tacos are truly worth the $1 dollar. They also have different Mexican drinks, where the cantarito is one of their best. It's a combination of juices with some light tequila, sprinkled with Mexican spicy candy on the edges. Definitely recommend visiting this place if you're around the area

Tacos were good but the service was awful, I ordered over $100 in tacos since I was having a get together with my family, I asked for onions & nopales but the only thing I received was tacos no nopales & no onions.

Once you come in, I must add that the parking is quite limited, make sure you park in a safe spot. As u enter the restaurant, it gives u a proper seafood vibe. What we ended up ordering were Oysters, crab cakes which came with fires, Calamari, seafood boil (one with old bay sauce and the other with Cajun seasoning) and Ofcourse the dessert- lava cake with vanilla ice-cream and some drinks. The best part? The seafood comes in a plastic bag with your choice of sauce. They do provide you the plastic bib, gloves and everything u need to indulge in your serving. The Cajun is absolutely delicious, it's spicy, hot and perfect for my kind of taste bud! Well it's not a perfect fancy date spot , but if you wanna get messy, get get going .. the Calamari, oysters, lava cake .. everything tasted perfect and I am going back there for sure.

The place was packed, and we were with a baby, but luckily got a table pretty quickly. The menu has great combo options where you can mix crab, shrimp, lobster, and more--all in one. TBH, that's the way to go instead of ordering everything separately. We ordered two Combo F along with shrimp fried rice and Cajun chicken fried rice. Combo F comes with Snow crab legs (1/2 lb), lobster tail, shrimp (1/2 lb), Potatoes (2 pc), Corn (1/2) Now comes the fun part... The seafood arrives in a plastic bag with your choice of sauce (Cajun, Garlic Butter, lemon pepper, Old Bay, Island style). They shake it all up, and then it's on you to dive in. You're given gloves, crackers, and tools to break open crab legs and lobster shells. Basically It's messy--but its beautiful mess ..lol I started off all proper with gloves and tools, but after some point, I ditched the gloves because it was just easier to enjoy the food that way. The Cajun sauce was absolutely delicious--rich, spicy, and full of flavor. I even ordered plain rice just to mix it with the leftover gravy... and wow, that was a amazing. Highly recommend trying that! Everything is essentially boiled seafood tossed in sauce, so don't expect anything grilled or crispy--it's all about the flavors and experience. The fried rice was tasty too, though the rice itself was a bit on the harder side. This isn't just a meal--it's an experience. Perfect for going out with friends, getting messy, and enjoying good seafood together.

Perfectly cooked and the sauce was perfect for scooping up with the fresh bread that was served with a nice little dish of olives when first sat down. Eggplant appetizer was grilled with a spice medley that beautifully enhanced the caramelization. It was vegetable preparation at its best. We had 2 whole fish entrees. A Dorado and Branzino. Both incredibly fresh and straight from the ice case that you can view and inspect on your way in. First preparation was an Egyptian style blackened rub. Very flavorful and cooked with precision. Crispy skinned and moist flaky inside. The second was also grilled with a topping in a similar manner to the sauce the shrimp appetizer was served in. Also very well executed. Service was welcoming and warm. The chef/waiter was beyond helpful and we appreciated his help with our selections. Absolutely worth the trip. We will return and you should make this a priority to try if you haven't already.

The soup was so fresh and flavorful that I would honestly come back just for it. The mackerel was a big portion, crispy outside and tender inside. The Mul Naengmyeon was such a surprise. It's not the usual sweet and sour style. The noodles were super thin and cold, and the broth had a really unique flavor. I loved it. We also tried the Sundae Platter and Seafood Scallion Pancake. The pancake was a little oily but so good, with big pieces of seafood. Big portions, good prices, and lots of side dishes. We ate really well for under $20 per person. Good for both a quick solo meal or coming with a group.

The broth was decent but not great; it leans more on the herbal side and isn't as spicy as other places. Oyster, Seaweed & Beef Soup (3/5): Packed with seaweed, but only came with about 5 oysters and very little beef. The broth had a strong, decent seafood flavor. Fried Spanish Squid (3/5): This wasn't on the menu, but I was excited they could make it since I'd seen photos from 7 months ago. However, it was baby squid rather than the body of the squid. It also felt a bit overcooked, lacking that fresh, chewy texture

When I told my mom where we were going her reaction- "omg that place is still around?!? It use to be excellent back in the day!" Well I am happy to report this place is just as good today as it was during my mother's heyday. I decided to get a few oysters and clams to start off with and everything was just so fresh. As an entree the Seafood in a spicy red sauce was easily one of the best I have had in a very long time. There was a generous amount of seafood within the dish, the sauce I swear I could just drink it out of a cup and the pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband got the bbq ribs which I didn't try but you could see how they just slid right off the bone and he couldn't stop talking about how good they were. We ended our meal with some strong espresso. I enjoyed how it is a very casual atmosphere with a nice bar area that had a few TVs to watch some sports games. No need to dress to impress. The service was a little bit on the slower side but the waitress was very nice. The man who brought out my oysters, I asked him which were the east coast and which where in the west coast oysters, along with asking him where in the west coast my oysters were from and he couldn't tell me. I just think a place should just know these things is they are selling them. Nonetheless we still really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to return.

North Jersey offers a diverse, high-quality seafood scene, ranging from upscale Mediterranean-style fish markets to casual, beloved neighborhood spots. Situated less than 2.5 miles from MetLife Stadium, Biggie's has been a neighborhood institution located off of Route 17 South in Carlstadt and is best known for its clams-on-the-half-shell and wide selection of beers on tap. My partner, our friends, and I have been to this family-owned establishment numerous times and decided to have dinner last night. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon entering this casual vibe, we were greeted by the host. There is a lively sports bar side full of TVs and a dining room side, where we got a booth immediately by the window. Their menu has a wide array of options, rivaled only by the countless photographs and mementos that fill nearly every inch of wall space. There are many sandwiches, a half-dozen salads, thin-crust pizzas, and a substantial range of pastas. For starters, we decided on two dozen East Coast oysters on a half shell and Steamed Mussels with white wine butter broth. A side of Italian bread was brought for dipping. As a main meal, we opted for the Turkey Chili, Baby Back Ribs, Fried Calamari, Caesar salad, and Fries. The food was excellent and delicious, using the freshest ingredients. The portions were healthy. The staff went out of their way to make one feel welcome, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Our server was Hadiyah. The price was reasonable. Stepped in and was greeted by the nicest lady who immediately offered me a sip of their "uptown" drink - a mix of iced tea and lemonade. It was quite tasty. That was just the beginning of the warmth that this establishment exuded, they were super nice and friendly. They asked my name, but I forgot to ask theirs. As I waited for my food, she began bringing me samples of the sides and desserts. She had me sample the banana pudding (she asked first if I ate bananas) - this was super flavorful of banana, as another review said, not just vanilla pudding with some sliced bananas in it. Beyond that, she brought me a little piece of frosted banana bread, a dense, rich flavorful lemony cake, and a frosted pound cake. The lemony one was my favorite. Next came a bit of sweet potatoes, with huge flavor that I haven't really experienced before in a dish like this. She also let me try the mac and cheese (great spices in it!) and collard greens (tastes just how you expect!), as well as one of their "French fries" which is a round slice of potato, really good and so much more interesting than normal fries. She brought this out with her rib sauce to taste/dip, which was also good. She also had some great conversation about boxing and bringing the neighborhood together. When I got my food, it was bursting out of the takeout container and she had to use a rubber band to keep it closed. The cutlery set came with A dumdum lollipop and a piece of bubble gum as well. I ordered: 2 piece fried chicken - leg and thigh with mac and cheese and collard greens and cornbreak. They also added a few fries in, coleslaw, and hot sauce. The chicken was tasty, but the pieces were huge! The cornbread was dense and sweet, delicious. The coleslaw was super creamy. I'll be back and I'd encourage anyone nearby to check it out.
