The pilot light went out on my water heater. They picked up the phone and were able to schedule a same day appointment. Good start. Technician arrived as scheduled and couldn't get the pilot light to stay on. Quoted $2700 to replace my water heater! Or $1000 to repair it! They were seemingly happy to take my $80 service call fee and move on after 10 minutes on site. An appointment was made for the same day, I was given a window, and was pleasantly surprised when I received a follow-up text confirming exact time of arrival. Elias came with an assistant, on time, and he was very thorough and explained all of his concerns. He was able to run a camera down my drain and take pictures. This gave me the confidence in understanding what needed to be done. When an unexpected issue came up Elias made it his mission to come out the next and fix the problem. They did very good work, they were thorough, cleaned up afterwards, and most importantly I trusted him. While no one relishes the idea of having big plumbing work done, my mind is at rest that not only did I fix some current plumbing issues, I also prevented a major future issue with my main line. We have a line of area drains which plug up when there's too much rain. And with the amount of rain that falls in California, you can't blame us too much for waiting 5 years to get it cleaned. Well, you know how it goes, folks. El Nino is coming! Before we called Dave - we had someone from the Cole Company come out - they wanted 16.75, we guessed for each drain. Nope! They wanted $1,675 and the plumber who came out immediately was pushing for the hydrojet. Dave came out same-day for this service and after a quick inspection, grabbed the snake. We had to troubleshoot the pipe orientations since we don't have blueprints, and Dave adeptly figured that out. Coming out of each drain we pulled a garland of roots - it was incredible! Two hours later the water was running, and we had a plan to keep the pipes clear in the future. Dave is an honest, local, capable guy with fair pricing. I highly recommend him. read more

Done Rite did it right! We decided to have our washer/dryer moved to the other side of the house to make room for an upcoming remodel. It required running a 3" drain out of the garage and across the driveway/yard to meet the main drain, as well as running hot/cold water lines and a gas line across the house to where there weren't lines before. Everything that was done was done with an incredible attention to detail, which is what you hope for when you're doing work of this type. Now, this is where Done Rite earned all 5, if not 6 stars, if that is possible. We made this decision to move the W/D 2-3 days before our new driveway was to be poured. If we waited until after the driveway was completed, the plumber would have had to cut into a brand new driveway. We were up against the clock (by our own poor planning), and when we called around to different companies to describe the work required and timeline we had, Done Rite didn't flinch. Their quote came in around average compared to the two others, but they were the only ones that committed to getting it done within the very short time frame. Robbie took the job and handled it flawlessly. They were in and out in 2 days, arriving early and leaving when the job was finished. They answered every one of my questions with patience (I had a lot of questions). They took great care to keep my garage clean (lots of concrete dust even with a wet saw) by sheeting off everything. They were clean, polite, respectful, and worked hard. They even had a concrete saw break down, and had another company (shout out to Foothill Plumbing) bring one within an hour to keep the job moving. After they left on day 2 (job complete), a neighbor approached me asking about the work I had done, and commented they have been using Done Rite for years and only trust them with their work. They took photos of the work, provided clear communication with scheduling, invoices, any changes to the work, etc. Big thanks to Robbie, Moe, Samuel, and Austin for getting the job done. We used Done-Rite for the first time to unclog two sinks which refused to drain no matter what we tried. Robbie and his trainee arrived early, very personable and professional. Everything was explained throughly (policies, fees, work to be done). The job was successfully completed, and they explained everything they did. They also cleaned the whole area they worked in and left it spotless. After I paid what we felt was a fair price, and signed a digital invoice, I soon received an email with a copy of the invoice including photos of the work done. Horrible company! Just out there to rip you off. Robbie the tech and Sarah in the office was great but he owner David (I believe that's his name) is a a rude jerk that lacks customer service. I paid and the service was done with a faulty part the first time so he had to return the next day. Installed the part and it lasted about 3 weeks. I called Robbie he came out and he guessed it was because of a screen that was there so-call blocking the water heater. He said he was guessing. He was able to light pilot and said if it happened again just call and he will have to order a new part. That he owner would have to call the company to state the part was faulty and get me a new one because they are all about service to their customers..... ugh yeah right! I called just called and David picked up and immediately told me that I voided my warranty by having a screen in front of it. Wtf?! He didn't even stop raising his voice to hear what I had to say regarding what his technician advised me to do. It's not like I'm trying to have him do something outrageous. It was what his technician told me! He kept yelling at me so I said it was fine and hung up because I do not need someone yelling at me for advising me what to do. I would give them a negative star! I would not recommend this company to anyone. Please stay away! Unfortunately it's so hard to find a honest and true plumber to actually care about their business and customers. So David is it worth it for your rudeness and lack of customer service?! As Robbie would tell you I had spoken to him about having your company do other work around my house. Good thing I didn't! Excuse me, first off you weren't there obviously you don't have the info correctly. Robbie never told me to not "stack" anything there when he came out the first time. He came out changed out the components and it was faulty. Came back the second and replaced the faulty one he installed. He actually said he will come back and replace it if he has to to get it to stay lit. So again before you run off with your story know what you are saying. Our toilet was leaking so I decided to install a new one myself last week. I got it in and everything seemed fine but we've had two major leaks in our home in the last 8 years so I'm a little paranoid about water. I decided to call someone up to re-install the toilet. I jumped on Yelp and found Done-Rite Plumbing and Rooter. I gave Dave a call and he had Marc at my doorstep within a couple of hours. Marc was great and walked me through everything he was going to work on. Even my dog liked him. He only barked at him once when he first showed up so that's saying something. Kitchen faucet was old, started leaking. Sent a message to several plumbers using yelp. Done Rite Plumbing answered the quickest, within a couple of minutes. They were able to schedule someone to come over the next day between 8-10am. I received a text message telling me they were on their way 30 minutes before 8am. Rob and Austin arrived a few minutes before 8am. They took off their work boots before coming inside, I didn't need to ask. I appreciated this as we have small kids and don't wear shoes in the house. They looked at our faucet, showed me where the leak was coming from. Our old sink was rusted from the inside, couldn't be fixed. I had purchased a moen faucet from Costco just in case it needed to be replaced. The guys gave a reasonable estimate for the labor. David advised we just replace the toilet since it was very old and the difference in price between fixing and replacing was negligible. He stayed in contact with us regarding his ETA. I called to request an estimate for some plumbing work that I would like done at my house. I was informed that there would be a $79 cost to have them come out and provide me with an estimate. I cancelled the request for an estimate. There are other plumbers giving me an estimate at no cost, so why would I pay them to provide a bid on a project? If you are getting bids for work, I recommend reaching out to other plumbers that won't charge you $79 to provide an estimate. read more

Dave kept me informed of his expected arrival time and was available at the last minute to asses a stopped main drain. He stated prices up front and was communicative about what he was going to do. I followed him on to the roof as we tried to get a scope down a vent to view the problem. He showed me the blockage (roots) clearly. Unfortunately the vent was too small for an higher power hydro cleaning head, but Dave had a couple of backup heads to try, just not as powerful. After about an hour of back and forth with the pressure head, I could see the progress he was making to get the drain as clean as it could be without the advantage of a 4" clean out at our house. Dave gave me a fair price and talked to me at a level I could clearly understand, without a lot of the industry jargon BS that I've dealt with in the past from others. His ability to match the explanation to his customer and not over explain things was appreciated. Before leaving he had emailed me an invoice for the work done and an estimate for down the road work to be done. Not feeling like I am being ripped off or talked down to is important to me when picking a contractor of any kind and Dave not only did excellent work in a speedy manner, he made it easy to suggest him to my friends. read more

This review is long overdue since I have been using Done-Rite Plumbing since the fall of 2014 when our master bath backed up and google pointed me towards them. Dave picked up right away, at 7pm, and was at our house within a half hour. He was very straight forward, polite and kind enough to take his boots off before coming inside. Fixed our problem but was honest that it would be back due to an issue with an angle down our pipes. We dropped the ball and didn't fix the issue and I had to call him back a year later. He cleared it up and since he knew we had construction ties wouldn't bid the job to dig up the yard since he knew we could have it done cheaper than he could even come close to, honesty at it's best. Since then he has provided service for other family members of ours in the area and everyone is always super happy with his work and especially his professionalism. It's not easy to find honest help for things like construction and plumbing and I can vouch for Done-Rite in that they won't be the "cheapest" quote but for a good reason, you get what you pay for. Do it "rite" once rather than wrong twice or more. We just had to have them come over the day after Thanksgiving for a backed up laundry sink and once again had top notch service with no run arounds, up selling, or hidden fees. I'd really have to be in a pinch to call anyone else for any plumbing needs. read more

A few nights ago I tried to crank the garbage disposal back into service after a routine jam and noticed a stream of water coming down from the base. "Uh oh," I said to myself. "Time for a new garbage disposal." I called Do It Right Plumbing, because we had used them in the past for various jobs, and they told me they'd be here on Friday between 8 and noon...and then noon to 4...and then...Monday. Wah waaaaaaah. (Things happen. I get it. I used to work in the plumbing business.) I called Done-Rite Plumbing (not to be confused with Do It Right Plumbing), and the very kind CSR--who used to work at the same plumbing company I worked at back in the day--told me that they could come out on Saturday morning. (Eureka!) Christian, the technician, showed up when Done-Rite said he would show up, and was super professional, straight forward, and an expert at what he does. I wanted a "mid-range" garbage disposal, and he sold me one that was just above mid-range for a decent price and a 10% discount--right within my budget. Christian removed the old garbage disposal and installed the new one very fast, and the next thing you know I am paying for it and he is on his way and my wife and kids can get on with our day with peace of mind.
