One of our new go to spots for Mexican food. Some of the food is hit or miss, but I usually stick with the enchiladas Suizas. The chips and dips that come before the meal are always tasty. The service can be a little slow, but it's usually pretty busy when we go, so hard to blame the servers. Live music sometimes if you enjoy that, we tend to sit away from that since it can be loud. This place is A-maz-ing!! There used to be a location in Houston when i was a kid. This restaurant was my intro to Mexican cuisine and became a core memory as a kid! The father of a childhood friend was the owner and the memories of this place stuck with me. sadly the place closed down. Coincidentally it recently opened in a location in Katy. Gotta say it was everything i remember and more!! The food is so so good, and the atmosphere has a good vibe and the staff is so friendly! As for the owner....well it's still the same owner and a nice little reunion had its moment. Def suggest giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. I called in a takeout order today at 8:15 p.m. and didn't receive my food until 9:35 p.m. well over an hour later of waiting and asking. To make matters worse, I didn't even receive what I paid for. Not only was my order incorrect, but I was also overcharged for less food than I was supposed to get. Completely unacceptable service and poor attention to detail. read more

The food taste was as expected. However for the price it lacked substance in the portions. We had the mix (beef, chicken, & shrimp) and barely had enough meat for 1 taco of each. The shrimp was butterfly but not very meaty. For a little more price, it's better to venture down I-10 to Pappasitos Memorial City area and have a better experience and some leftovers (we didn't here). I'm so disappointed in this location due to the poor service and bland food. I've been here several times and it's the same story; 1. Someone takes over 7 minutes to even come by the table. 2. The food is unseasoned, chicken & quail dry and overcooked. 3. The ambiance seems to be suited for LARGE groups 5 people minimum and not smaller groups. 4. I unfortunately decided to not even order food because of our waiter. Although he was kind, you can tell he was not happy to work or accommodate us (or maybe he doesn't have experience) I honestly don't know. He first said no drink menu, then proceeds to bring us one, he said free refill on the house and then said never mind. Just very odd. Then the outdoor patio was closed so call before to make sure if it's open. Although the place is very nice! (That's what one of the stars is for) The food needs some loving, everything was very bland and the chicken had a weird taste, almost felt like it was not fully cooked (chewy). I tried my husbands plate, the enchiladas de mole but he ended up just eating the tortillas and sauce. Same thing with my sister. The cauliflower appetizer was good but not worth the price. Do not order a michelada here, according to my husband "it is the worst michelada ever" overall the lemonade was good and chips and salsa were tasty (thats what my other star is for) read more

The food was good but I must say service needs to be better. We had reservations but still had to wait 15 mins even though a party of 7 was seated after coming in behind us. Again, food was delicious but service was slow. We kept having to remind our servers to refill our drinks even though it wasn't busy. Buffet was set up beautifully. Well here we go again with the salad. This time upon ordering the Magda salad the waiter returned and said they do not have fresh ingredients to make the salad. So faced with this dilemma my wife ordered the ribeye tip street tacos. She had tried one of mine on a previous visit. Our entrees arrived together with no issues. So the question is will the wife go back to the Magda salad or stay with the tacos?! read more

Met some old friends up at the new Doneraki on I 10 (Katy)and enjoyed ourselves very much, sat at the bar for a couple drinks, then sat in the dining room and had dinner. We had the ribeye steak with baked potato, baked potato was huge and the steak was great. The salsa is awesome. We use to visit the old Doneraki on Westheimer and Hillcroft back in the day. Customer service was non existent. I had placed an order and my son wanted lemonade which they were out of at the time. So the server suggested a watermelon aqua Frecas and was charged for it when it states clearly kids get a free drink. then I asked if I could get a substitute with my burrito(didn't want fries) I said beans and rice instead. This is not the Doneraki you remember and loved. I hope it's just because they have only recently opened. Staff seems confused and lost. We ordered fajitas for two and received the incorrect beans. The beef had no flavor other than grissle. The glasses are tiny, and there appears to be an ice shortage. We had to ask twice for silverware, and it's Hella expensive. GOOD PLACE FOR WHITE PEOPLE- NOT FOR HISPANICS We arrived to this new place to try and and support a new business in Katy: As soon as we arrived, the hosts tried to sit us on the bar, which was completely empty and badly lit. Sitting on the ACTUAL open restaurant area? no way, that is reserved for white people: plenty of blond and white people there. We are just so disappointed in finding yet another 'Mexican' restaurant that treats Hispanic people differently and tries to hide us, as far away from the open restaurant as possible. This was our first visit and everything was great! The atmosphere and decor is nice and feels upscale. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! My husband and I both ordered the Doneraki enchiladas and YUM! The fajita beef was packed with flavor and very tender. My son ordered the chicken fajitas and he loved them as well. Really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is nice, but that's about the only good thing about this place. Margaritas are not good and over priced for the small size you get $18 or so. Ordered cheese enchiladas, they were only okay, nothing great. They did serve great green and red sauce. The chips were very good also. This was a $19 lunch including tip. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Very very disappointed and dissatisfied. Where do I start our server was just not it. From the initial greet not a bit friendly and we didn't even know his name. He took our drink order and appetizer order and when the app arrived we sat for good while waiting for plates and we had also asked for lemons with the water that we never got. I asked for a moment cause I was not ready and he put in my friend's order but of course it was not put in correctly. Disappeared for a god 25 to 30 mins since he was busy with his other tables. If that was the case maybe he should have gotten help. Margarita that was ordered had to be sent back since it was all watered down. When we brought this situation up to the manager and other people that kept asking us how we were doing we explained to them our frustration. And they apologized many times but instead of improving the experience continued to get worst. And I very disappointed in the manager that didn't even give us any discount or did anything to make it up to us for such a horrible experience.
