They have a QR code so yiu can take a look before going thru the line.. once you stand in line you get your tray and proceeded to get your sides.. then go to the counter with the meats.. the ladies there was so helpful.. the guy behind the counter was business only.. because they want to move the lines be prepared to know what you want when you get there.. it was super busy but we were lucky enough to find a table that fit our part of 6.. we shared 3 trays of food which was more than enough (we had leftovers) paid almost $300 for the 6 of us but it was so worth it!! We all agreed this was the best BBQ we've had in a long time.. We will definitely be back and of course recommend this place to visitors like us!!

I also tried the chopped brisket (brisket and burnt ends sitting in a soup of BBQ sauce). That was also delicious (and more reasonably priced), but I could have done with slightly less sauce. It really was like a soup and while the sauce was tasty, there was too much of it. I went later in the afternoon (around 2/2:30pm) and got their last two beef ribs so going earlier is better. You order at the open kitchen and then pay at the counter when your food is ready. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, you can take your food and sit at any of their tables of which they have many (this place is pretty big). I cannot comment on how this place stacks up to other BBQ spots in Austin, but I very much enjoyed the beef ribs.

Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. BBQ - next best BBQ to Franklins on I35 at Concordia. Franklins is more flavorful but this place does not have the wait and there is plenty of seating inside and out. Service is very fast and the place is CLEAN! I have been here at least a half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. I have tried the chopped beef sandwich. Huge! Cut it in half for a regular serving and have the other half for dinner! I have had the 2 meat plate. I normally do not like to spend over $10 for lunch but again this makes 2 meals! Today it was pork loin and sausage. The pork was a little dry but the smokey flavor was tasty. The sausage is the way I like it dry and not dripping with grease when you bite into it. The banana pudding is pretty good - next best thing would be if you made it home yourself and from scratch. Next time I am going for the brisket which a lot of the ladies have and love. read more

Best barbeque I've ever head. Everyone knows about Franklins and Salt Lick etc., but this place is a hidden gem tucked way out in Eastern Travis County. The ambience is cozy and quiet. The food is all cooked to perfection. The brisket falls off the bone, the sausage is flavorful and has that casing "pop", the pork ribs are just as good. What really sets Donn's apart, though, is their actual barbeque sauce. I don't know what kind of crack they put in that stuff, but it's absolutely delicious. I wish they sold it in bottle so I could bring a supply home. Come to think of it, I'm not 100% sure they DON'T sell their barbeque sauce... I'll definitely ask them the next time I visit. I was planning on getting turkey from Donn's since I've not been well and not having to cook was a big deal. I looked up prices on Favor for delivery, called on Monday to be see if I needed to order and was told to wait until Wednesday to order for Thursday pickup. However, when I called to order, their prices were outrageous! $35.05 for 2 pounds of turkey????? Give me a break! I just got home from HEB where I bought a 5 pound turkey breast for $8.00!! Now I don't have to drive anywhere on Christmas Eve and I got a lot more turkey!! I will never eat at Donn's again. Anyplace else gets my business from now on. read more

Donn's BBQ is absolutely amazing. As far as I can tell, it's not too well known, but it is DELICIOUS. Pretty much everything is good here, from the brisket to the chocolate pudding. It's not particularly close to me, but I'll go pretty far out of my way to swing by Donn's. The line always moves fast, and the food is out in minutes. My main recommendation would be a 2 entree plate with brisket and sausage. Maybe some pumpkin pie for desert. If you want to show someone a "secret" BBQ place that isn't Franklin's or Salt Lick, start here. It's better anyway. Good job, Donn, whoever you are. read more

I'm not a happy customer. I've been coming to this Donn's for over 10 years. The prices continue to rise and the quality and quantity of food continues to decline. The breakfast tacos used to be so huge that one would be a meal. Now they barely have any filling. I was a huge fan of their pancakes that used to take up the entire plate...now they are smaller than fast food restaurants. Shame on you for making loyal customers pay more for less and less food. I have eaten from this food truck before and the food is really good, so the rating is not based on…read morethe food quality. However, on this particular day, I went by the food truck at 3 pm and all their plates were sold out. They only had two pans of seafood broil at $75, which I am told would feed 4 people. The stated hours are to 7 pm. I did not plan to buy food for 4 people...just one. The food truck manager said I should have called first to check to see if they had any plates left. Well, I could have called and so that is totally my bad. However, it is a reasonable expectation that you will not run out plates of food 4 hours before closing. I am going to be less likely to patronize this business in the future.

Because let me tell you right now, Mama'z earned it. It did everything that a 5 start review deserves. First, friendly service, even on a cold rainy day, even if it's a food truck. Service was still there. Second. They give you a FULL container of the food. They didn't skimp on a single thing. Sides, main dish, nothing. In fact they even gave me some extra gravy for free. Third, that first bite makes your mouth want to go tap dancing. You keep eating when you're full because it taste so good . Drop what you're doing and go here. You're welcome.
