We have always used Don's Body Shop because they do a GREAT job but this is the first time I was the one to drop my car off. Somebody hit me. I didn't really understand the process of waiting for the rental car etc. etc. but Mario was soooooo nice, helpful and informative. I even made a joke about my husband thinking I was too stupid to handle this by myself.......right before I gave him the wrong insurance info. One nice Saturday my girlfriend and I decided, let's go for a nice drive. So we got in my new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and decided to drive through Oakland to head up into the hills. So here we are having a nice conversation about who knows what, probably our expectations for the day or Harry Potter. When all of the sudden here comes this large white SUV alone the side of us and it's REALLY close and BOOM it hits us. Was told by a goodyear that I needed to go to an auto body shop because they couldn't change my front low light. Apparently the cover was stuck, and they said to access it, I needed to have the bumper removed. When I showed up, they had me pick up the bulb. They were done within 10 minutes, and didn't even charge anything. They were so helpful, and said that the cover came loose without needing to remove the bumper. I wish I could give Don's Auto Body 6 stars. The paint on a few spots on my truck was peeling and, in some spots, worn down to the metal. I stopped by Don's for a quote on getting the paint fixed. They gave me a fair price and seemed the most professional. Also, some other shops were unwilling to work with me because I wasn't an insurance claim. It didn't matter to Don's that I was a non insurance customer. I'm really happy that I went with Don's. They did an incredible job and made the paint on my truck look brand new! These people are great , they really took care of my car . I was helped by a friendly guy at the counter named Mario, he was very helpful and made sure my car was well taken care of. The only thing that needed to be fixed was the bumper but they painted the hood to match , washed and detailed my car for FREE ! (They even saved my cigarettes that were in the ashtray and put them in a bag for me haha) Mind you my car was admittedly pretty dirty when I took it in.I will never go anywhere else for body work from now on. Our family owns a LOT of cars and have been giving our business to another local body shop in Hayward on Mission Blvd for 20 years. Sadly, the customer service at the other body shop deteriorated, so I decided to find another place to take our vehicle after someone hit our car. Don's Body Shop was incredible. They were courteous, professional and most importantly, did a FANTASTIC job repairing our vehicle. The vehicle was finished in the time promised. I can see why some of the reviews complain about the front desk secretary. She is not warm and friendly. Normally, I would dock a star for an employee like her.
