Very reputable Body shop. They are in business for many years. I live in the area since 1991 and know many happy customers. Their prices are not cheap but compatible with other shops. They do a good quality job and not a Mickey Mouse like some other shops. They take care of their customers. I was recently involved in a big accident and I fixed my care there. They take their time to make sure that job is done right . I had a situation where insurance company of the person at fault wS having an issue paying for rental and Don's body shop provided me with rental at no cost. We finally brought our car in. After months of discussion with Barry (owner) he assured us that his polisher can get the gloss out from the car's dull paint. I brought it in. I had previously taken my Toyota Tacoma to this body shop because my tailgate was stolen and this body shop provided excellent service with that. Installing a new tailgate from the dealer the same day they received it. Joey even went above and beyond by recommending a tailgate lock which he later installed himself. About a year later they stole my catalyctic converter and once again this body shop provided excellent service in getting me a new one from the dealer and installing it the very same day. And in the mean time that I had to wait to receive the caralyctic they recommended a muffler shop that installed a temporary pipe that removed the loud noise and also that same shop installed a protector to prevent it from being stolen in the future. I want to especially recognize Joey because he definitely, without question, goes above and beyond in what he does. He makes sound recommendations and those recommendations have always been super helpful. I went to a previous body shop before this one and the representative wasn't that great. Because of a referral from my BFF, I started going to Don's. Luckily, I'm not here ALL of the time. But when I have to utilize his services, he definitely does his job. What can I not say about the quality and professionalism you find at Don's? We're lucky to live in the local neighborhood and know from experience how great Don's is. Over the years, the body work we've had done here has been top notch. It's a family business and integrity is what stands out--you don't find that much these days. That and the quality of work keeps me coming back. Over this last month, I brought both of our cars here for body work. My dealings with Donnie have been great, and the work was done so quickly. I haven't even had my body work done yet and I'm giving Don's Body Shop 5 stars for customer service! I took my car in for an estimate for an insurance claim job and the guys at Don's were so courteous and helpful (especially considering I was interrupting their lunch.) They came right out, inspected my vehicle, took photos, and scheduled the repair work to be done. I have to wait a bit as they are very busy but their location is very convenient to my home and judging by their customer service, I'm sure they'll do a great job. Today I dropped off my Honda Accord that was in an accident just four days ago, I was met by Laura and her son Don, they both were exceptionally courteous and made me feel comfortable in leaving my car at their shop. Laura took all of my information and proceeded to drive me to Enterprise so that I could rent a car. Before Laura and I left for Enterprise, Don let me know that it would take a day or two to get the estimate (he offered to email it... awesome!), which is completely satisfactory. I will be back to give a final review after I pick up my car :) In mid-September I picked up my car and was stunned at how beautiful the car looked. The damage was so extensive that I thought the back left passenger door would forever be lodged by the damage caused by the other car that hit me. Don's body shop did a phenomenal job restoring my car to its original beauty. They even went the extra step of detailing my car which admittedly needed it!!! The car looks showroom new! The week that I was to pickup my car, due to my schedule I had to delay pickup. It coincided with their need to keep my car one more day, it was absolutely no problem for me because I needed an entire WEEK. I wasn't rushed to get my car and pay, Donny was quite apologetic, as was I because I'd burden them with holding my car an extra week. When my car was returned to me, they worked with me and offered to drop my car off at my home! I can not express how grateful I am that Don's Body Shop was such a pleasure to work with, everyone was courteous and a delight to talk to. They were forthcoming with what I should expect. Later, after driving my car for a few days, I called Donny to thank him for the phenomenal job on my car and I asked for a tint shop recommendation. USAA insured, stay away! When I dropped my car off, I told them I didn't have a rental and would be without a car until I got mine back. They had it for two full weeks for what was a three day job and blamed USAA. I was told me they'd had all the parts and my car apart but it sat for a week while he waited for USAA to call him and approve the repairs. I'm skeptical, but if we take his word for it my question is, why didn't he try calling them? He said he doesn't have "this problem" with State Farm. Customer service? On Wednesday, May 14, after they'd had the car for ten days I called to inquire and was told it would be ready for pickup the next day, Thursday, after 4:30. I arranged for a ride from Silver Lake to Montebello, but after we left my house I thought maybe I'd better call and make sure it was ready. Yeah, you guessed it - not ready. I guess their policy is "you call us, because we certainly won't be calling you." The next day, Friday, the car was finally ready. When I drove it home, I got a "check brake light" error message. All the lights work, but there's a short, the right rear lights, where the repairs were done, are noticeably dimmer than the left. I'm taking the car to my trusty mechanic and will pay out of pocket to have the short diagnosed and repaired. This is a modern car with complex electronics, I don't want to take a chance with the short frying my ECU. ***UPDATE*** I just heard back from my mechanic at Puente Hills Volkwagen. Don's failed to install the correct bulbs, they jammed bulbs with the wrong bases into the tail light assembly, he's unable to remove them so I may need a new tail light assembly. Further, the tail light assembly was reinstalled without the retaining clips, just two screws. And the mechanic's opinion of the paint job was, "damn, it's all orange peel. What an ugly job!" USAA says that since Don's is not a USAA preferred shop I will have to pay out of pocket for all the repairs. I could go back to Don's and ask them to make it right but frankly, I don't ever want to see them or talk to them again. read more

When my company relocated to Commerce about 5 years ago I began using them for all of our company cars as well, which unfortunately for my company but good for Don's, is probably about 30 repairs per year. Service is great, everyone is friendly and knowledgeable and the cars come back looking like new. They work directly with our insurance company, eliminating extra headache for us. This shop deserves a 5-star review for the job well done but I'm taking 0.5 star off from dealing with Laura. I was referred to Don's by a co-worker, the location is really close to work and they came to tow my car right away. My communication with Barry was great from the start, he is very attentive, knowledgeable and straight to the point, just the right guy to handle your car. Unfortunately, his wife, Laura is the opposite, she seems dazed on the phone, forgetful, inconsistent and lots of silent pauses during a conversation which I had to constantly checking if she's still on the line. The job done on the car was spectacular, very pleased, they even flat out the license plate (badly bent from the crash) and ran it through car wash before I pick it up. I had car lashes installed, Barry mentioned he carefully took it out then put it back on so both lashes wouldn't be ruined from the giant roller at car wash, so sweet of him!! Overall, it's a smooth experience but would've been awesome if I only need to deal with Barry. When I called to check on the progress, he even offered to drop my car back to work when it's done. However, Laura told me the next day they couldn't do it due to liability issue, which is understandable. Long story short, I recommend this body shop 100%, my advise is to be overly patient with Laura because the great job Barry does is worthwhile. read more

The shop is about 2 miles from my home so I went and visited the shop and went over my repair needs with Barry. I took my car to Dons last week. A piece of tire flew and hit my bumper taking off paint and cracking the under wheel. I took it into to Dons to get it repaired. Since I have never had to have my car repaired before I was a little apprehensive. I actually yelped them before taking my car and and read the positive reviews. So I decided to take it in. When I took it in I was warningly grated by Barry and Don. They said it would only take a few days to fix and paint everything. I thought I was going to have to wait weeks. They kept me informed and up to date on the progress of my car. When I went to pick it up I couldn't believe my eyes. My car looked brand new. They had my car detailed and waiting for me in the front of the store. The bumper looked better then before. I had a question about how to repair some wax buildup on the bottom bumper. Right off the bat Don went to the back, brought some kind of spray and drag, and completely removed it. He was very friendly and helpful. I hope I will never have to go back but if I do have another problem with my car there is not doubt that I will bring it to Dons Body Shop. read more

Scope of work was a small dent on driver's side rear door, driver side rear quarter panel and redo of front bumper because of extensive pitting and chips on a 2007 E550. They were willing to work with me on what needed to be done when other locations were not accomadating. This is nice family run business and I am happy with the job they did.
