In this day and age of Service King Autobody and Walmart Superstores, it is getting more and more difficult to find successfully ran family "mom & pop" shops. Well, I am happy to say that Don's autobody shop is a family ran business. Mom works at the front taking calls and request, dad supervises the repair area, and the son does the repair estimates. I was referred here by a close friend, Boone V., after some scumbag hit my Lexus in a supermarket parking lot. Had 3 additional quotes from other shops, and son (Joey) was able to match in-between the 2 lowest bids that I had, and complete the repair at least 2 days before the other bids, this would offset any additional cost on the rental car when compared to the other bids. My Lexus was completed in the amount of time estimated by Joey, and the repaired bumper and 3 stage paint job (required for most current Lexus) was perfect. They are definitely a busy shop, and most likely work on repeat customers and referrals. I believe they have been in the autobody repair business for a long time. It would be difficult to fine an autobody shop owned and managed by people with so much knowledge and experience. I would give Don's 10 stars if I could. Not only was the work done impeccably, the staff was extremely kind and courteous. I received a call that was car was ready, two hours early per my request, and when I went to pick it up they said it would be a few minutes longer because they noticed my headlights were dirty and they were going to clean them up for me. I said I had to leave because I had an appointment down the street that would not be done before they closed. They offered to drop off the keys and paperwork for me at my appointment place when they closed. Not only did they drop off my paperwork and keys a few doors down, but they even parked my car right in front of where I was. So incredibly kind. These are the types of experiences you only get from mom and pop places. When I received my car they went above and beyond. Was rear ended so I took my car to Don's Body Shop. This family run operation is a reliable and honest place with friendly and fast service. You will not be disappointed with their professionalism or the detail of work they do on your vehicle. I knew that I made the right choice when on separate occasions I mentioned to my appraiser and rental car dealership that I had taken my car to Don's, they both had nothing but positive things to say. The appraiser told me that they are honest and fair. The rental dealership said that they've heard really good things from their customers and that it's rare to see such a professional auto body shop in this industry. The wife, Laura, is very sweet and helpful. The husband, Barry, with his years of experience, is very knowledgeable and great at explaining mechanics to a layman. The son, Donnie, is also very knowledgeable and friendly. It took them less than a week to fix my car (probably took them longer to wash and clean the inside of my car, lol) and the rear looks like new :) When additional damage was discovered after the bumper was removed, they immediately contacted the appraiser (and myself) to update him on the new discoveries (not sure if a body shop typically contacts the appraiser but I appreciated it, as well as keeping me well informed of the status of my vehicle). Furthermore, they listened to my concerns; after the accident, even though I was rear ended, a mysterious rattling noise was coming from the front of the vehicle (not intuitive and bothersome for someone who really doesn't know much about cars). They found the culprit, which ended up being the muffler; the impact from the accident pushed it forward, loosening/bending the hangers that normally kept it in place and causing it to hit the catalytic converter whenever I drove over slightly rough terrain (don't I sound like I know what I'm talking about, it's all thanks to Barry and Donnie). Verdict, I would definitely recommend this place to family, friends, and strangers. I was very happy with the final product...almost made me want to ding up my car some more and bring it back here so that they can make my car look brand new again :) read more
