hi.. been eating dons for years at one time i raved about the chicken ceasar salad NOT ANYMORE barely any lettuce some romaine i dont even know what the other was spinach? 6 croutons barely any parm cheez but it was packed with chicken probably 10-12 ounces way to much no balance like in the days when dons was great i disposed of the dry chicken im very disappointed the owner is a real nice guy he tries hard to please his customers i think he needs a new general manager for quality control good luck god bless read more

It's taken me some time to write this because Don's has always been our go to pizza spot. Over the last 6-9 months Dons has gone downhill. The first time we got something not so great, we just brushed it off as an off evening because we've NEVER had problems. Two visits ago our pizza tasted off, sauce was different, and it was $20 for I think 12 zucchini sticks(can't remember the exact amount but I thought it was insane that deep fried zucchini would be that expensive). Yesterday will be the last time we order at Dons. We ordered at lunch time, asked for well done pizzas like we do every time for them to be mushy. They honestly tasted like they were from the day before. The sauce has changed. The dough seemed off. A cook was eating his food where they make the pizza, and to top it all off I pulled 4 slices of tiramisu from their dessert cooler to give to them because they were covered in mold. The person who was eating behind the counter looked annoyed at me and said they must've missed that last night. These pieces of tiramisu had been there moldy for a longer than just the evening. Great cell structure on the crust. The crunchy texture eats like a fresh Sourdough or French bread. Pizza had lots of toppings. We ate in. Cheese pull on those first few slices removed from the pan were noteworthy. While I enjoyed the amount of vegetables on the veggie pizza, I enjoyed the flavor of the buffalo chicken pizza more. Buffalo chicken pizza was more tangy than spicy. Even my child who doesn't like spicy foods ate a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza. People at Don's New York are welcoming and friendly. They checked on us a few times. Coloring books and crayons are available to help keep kids occupied. read more

This place is horrible. my Ma order Pizza and wings for me and my family to come over on Sunday to have Sunday dinner the wings were disgusting mild wings sauce was watered down and the wings were pink when I showed these pink wings to there driver who was disgusting as well and suggested the pink color might undercooked chicken and when my ma called I heard a rude manger that refused to come to the phone and so my ma decided to take the awful wings and get her money back and the manger refused to give her money back and was so rude so they riped my ma off almost 100$ and had no remorse on top of this the owner decided to call my mother in a threatening manner at 9:30pm to change my review And then lied to Yelp saying that I wasn't a firsthand customer so I shouldn't be allowed to make these reviews I was the one who was supposed to be eating the food I was there so this was my experience be careful people where you eat this place needs to be shut down read more

Well, fourth time ordering from Don's and it will unfortunately be our last, even though my husband and I love the food. We love it so much in fact that we have already recommended many friends and family. Tonight, I thought I would use their online feature to order dinner for delivery. My husband and I ordered the two pizza special for $30.99. I wanted a cheese pizza with jalapeños and my husband wanted a pepperoni. The online order system says: 1st Pizza Toppings. I selected jalapeños. It adds $4 to the total. (Note, while this is pricey, we know that they change $4 for every topping and don't mind). It allows you to select as many topping as you want for the first pizza, but as said above, I just wanted jalapeños. So I moved to the next section, second pizza toppings: I selected pepperoni. While ordering I was concerned that it would add both topping to both pizzas, but when I selected both toppings for both pizzas it added $16 to the total. So I was confident we were only getting one topping per pizza as our total was $38 (it would be $47 with both toppings on both pizzas). Well, our order arrived an it had both toppings on both pizzas. I was so bummed because I don't eat meat. Please know that I am 26 years old and my least favorite thing to do in the world is complain about food. I NEVER send food back. But I mustered up the courage to call. The woman on the phone was nice as I told her about the issue, but when I concluded telling her what was wrong she said, oh I'm so sorry that happened....we'll have a good night. I think she realized the awkward pause on the phone because she then sheepishly asked if we wanted one of the pizzas to be remade. I apologized profusely (again, even thought it wasn't my fault) but asked if they could both be remade because we wouldn't be able to eat either one. She said she would have to check and came back on the phone and said, "the cook said he would remake them but he told me to tell you not to use the online ordering system ever again". I apologized and thanked her. I then got off the phone and cried from feeling so embarrassed. My husband and I gathered up some money to give the delivery driver a tip again. When the food arrived about an hour later (which is not problem) I met the delivery driver outside, thanked her, gave her the $7, and grabbed the pizzas. As I was walking away she told me they needed the old pizzas back. I told her okay, and went a grabbed the uneaten pizzas (Don's, they were uneaten because we COULDN'T eat them like we said). I handed her the uneaten and cold pizzas feeling completely embarrassed once again. Coming from someone who has ordered four times in a month, and left a 5 star review, let me say you lost a costumer. Thanks for remaking the pizzas you made wrong, but we won't ever be back. The pizza is tasty and I would definitely eat here again. The honey hot wings were also quite good. I thought it was a good price for the food. My one disappointment is I just put the pizza box in the fridge with a couple pieces left...yes it should have been in a plastic bag...but the next morning when I went to move it to the bag the bottom of the pizza had stuck to the paper/cardboard-like material that is sits on in the box. Been ordering from Don's for many years. Last few times service has declined significantly with food being cold upon delivery. We called after over 1 hour for delivery, they told us they don't see the pizza and driver is out so should be a few minutes. 15 minutes later, nothing. Knew this would happen with new owners! The pizza served to us today tasted like the sauce was watered down, the cheese was running off the pizza over the plate and the crust was as thin as cracker. When asked what happened they said it's because it just came out of the oven, the previous owners never served anything that looked like this! I've never revised a review so this is the first time. My first experience with Dons was incredible. Pretty close to NY pizza as far as our valley goes. Unfortunately upon my last three visits I was hoping that I'd have the same experience as the first, this was not the case. One of the times I've called in for a delivery I barely could understand the person who answered the phone and I don't believe she could understand me either so that became very awkward. Always on the lookout for different pizza places to try and today we found Don's. Located in an older shopping center in Peoria the parking lot is large and we easily found a spot to park. When you first walk in you are greeted with a counter where the menus are on the wall. Once you place your order you are given a number and they will bring your food to you. The inside is large and quite a few tables to sit with friends or family. We ordered the garlic knots, fried zucchini, 18 in pepperoni pizza, hot wings and baked ziti. We were also given a salad that comes with the ziti. You can buy individual fountain drinks or a 2 liter of soda. We did the 2 liter and they gave us some cups. Everything came out pretty quick. At first glance the zucchini looked burnt to me, but it was delicious, outside crunchy and zucchini not soggy. My garden salad was the least favorite part of the meal. While the lettuce was fresh and crisp the cucumbers were soggy and super dry. I lost total interest the second I ate one. The garlic knots were good, portion was a bit small though. There were five of us and only four knots. The pizza was HUGE. It looked and smelled so good. We were advised to give it a few minutes once it came to the table because it had just came out of the oven . It's definitely a NY style pizza, thin crust and soooo cheesy with plenty of pepperoni. I'd of preferred a more flavorful sauce, but still really good. The wings weren't over sauced and crispy. The baked ziti was shared by my daughter and her friend. It comes meatless which is good because her friend is allergic. They devoured most of it. They both really liked it. Service was great. I read some reviews with so many people saying otherwise. But they were so welcoming to us, smiled and checked on us throughout the meal. I'd come beck again for sure. They offer sandwiches, calzones and more as well. We ordered Don's while staying in Glendale because of the good reviews. The person taking the order was surprised because there was another Don's closer to us. He was cool and explained that the other one was closer, but was owned by a different family. I said that's ok and ordered anyway. We had the meat lovers and wings. The pizza wasn't greasy at all. The crust was thin, yet held up like New York style pizza. Overall, the pizza was really good (as my wife is very picky when it comes to pizza). We also got the hot wings (the hottest sauce they had and regular Buffalo). The wings weren't small, wasn't over cooked and dry, and both sauces were tasty (the insane sauce could be hotter). Overall, this was the best pizza we had in Arizona so far. People say it's expensive, but it's reasonable compared to where we live. If you order cheap pizza, expect cheap ingredients and taste. Damn good pizza! Best pizza I've had in AZ for sure, and waaaaayyyy better then your run of the mill Papa Johns or Pizza Hut. Yeah, it's a bit on the pricy side, but everything is these days. Even a couple large Papa Johns pizza will run you $50-60 with delivery. I've seen mixed reviews about their wings. I haven't tried them yet because I want to try their suicide wings.
