Extreeeemely yummy and highly-addictive madeleines. Fresh, not too sweet, moist, cake-like, the egginess just right--the way madeleines should taste. Blows other so-called madeleines out of the water, including Miette's. I can eat 3 to 4 in a sitting. Oink. Available at most Peet's. Trader Joe carries them, maybe Andronico, sometimes Mollie Stone (probably with a huge markup). Starbucks used to carry them but they cheaped out, went generic and slapped on their own copycat packaging. Cheaper when you buy them in bulk (box of 60 in 3- or 6-packs) directly from their headquarter, to split with friends. They freeze well up to 2 months. (They recommend that you store in freezer, not fridge, and take a pack out when you have a craving. Thaws in half an hour and best eaten within 10 days fresh or after thaw.) No preservatives or trans fat. Also comes in lemon and chocolate dipped...but I like the original.

These madeleines are carbolicious and so worth the calories. Eating the Lemon Madeleines is like eating candy. You can't stop once you start. You can order the madeleines in bulk and pick them up to save $20/box(for shipping). They come frozen and defrost nicely over two days. We order one box of the Lemon and one box of the Chocolate Dipped Traditional Madeleines for our wedding. They looked great and were gone instantly.

Traditional madeleines are soft, chewy, moist, and buttery. They reminded me of a light pound cake - love them!

Outstanding Asian bakery located on Grand Ave in Oakland! I came here at 1 pm on a weekday, and…read morethey had the full selection of their current pastries. The women working at the counter were so sweet and patiently explained the menu to me as I was picking out my treats. I ended up getting their Okonomiyaki Danish, Banana Milk Milk Bun, and Yuzu Meringue Bun. The danish was probably one of my favorite savory pastries I've ever had! I loved the crispy layers, and the flavors were absolutely on point. The Banana Milk Milk Bun had a great banana milk custard filling that was prominent yet not too overpowering. The bun itself was incredibly soft and had a topping that reminded me of a pineapple bun or a concha, which I loved. The Yuzu Meringue Bun was slightly on the sweeter side, but it was filled with a delicious, tart yuzu creme that paired perfectly with the crispy exterior. Aside from their iconic Okonomiyaki Danish, they rotate their menu with different flavors of milk buns, cream buns, croissants, and other baked goods, so I'd love to come back to try their other items. It's also an Asian-woman-owned business, so I will definitely be recommending this spot to others!

Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking. Crossubi -- A very unique concept and not bad overall. I just wish the interior wasn't quite as hollow; a little more filling would have elevated it.
