The tofu nachos were delicious and the chips were homemade! I think better than the tacos. I got the fish taco traditional style and potato gringo style. The tacos are a decent size and definitely filling with all the toppings it comes with. I could only finish one and a half! The fish taco was lacking flavor, I had to add salt to it but after that it was good. I think the potato taco had more flavor. The key lime pie was also delicious and homemade! Overall I don't think I'd come back, I think En Su Boca is a bit better. If I did come back, I'd probably just order the nachos. read more

The best year of my adult life was spent at their Carytown location, so when fire destroyed that one, I was emotionally devastated to say the least. Safe to say, this place is even more fantastic than the original. They've taken over an old and long abandoned pool hall in Scott's Addition, but kept all the fun. The interior is beautiful, with a long bar and plenty of space to move around, something the original severely lacked. They have four tables to play pool, and two tables to play shuffle puck. All the food is the same, and I have to say, these are hands down the best tacos in Richmond. The chorizo and the fish are my favorite, but if they ever have chicken skin during your visit, don't hesitate for a second - ORDER IT! I myself had three during my last visit. Speaking of, their tacos are C H E A P! They start at $2 and go up to $4, with most of their other menu items under $10. Another real treat is the Frito Pie - all the ingredients of their regular nachos served in a personal size bag of Fritos. Delicious! A cool spot with cheap tacos, good drinks and a rippin' soundtrack every time I come in. Definitely check this one out. A+ read more

Absolutely delicious. Service was great! Sat at the window because there weren't any tables available but it didn't effect the service at all. Food came out quick! The kids split a big cheese quesadilla, which was huge and came with sour cream and salsa, which they loved dipping the quesadilla in. My husband and I both tried two different tacos each, including the special - carne verde, the shredded chicken, carnitas (sooo crispy, yum) and the fish. Overall, super impressed! I should've known by the name to have low expectations for tacos. The tacos reviews are deceiving because their fish tacos are not great especially when they drip with sauce like a leaky faucet in turn making the shell soggy. MANAGER PLEASE READ: Paid to reserve a pool table. Was told to wait for the waitstaff's friends to play for free. Totally fine. Was not in any hurry. After the same waitstaff's friends left unbeknownst to us, me and my were friend engaged in a conversation when the same employee came up to us and not five minutes later AGGRESSIVELY told us if we weren't going to play pool we needed to leave. We had no idea that the other people had left and our table was open. The waitstaff expressively said "I want to go home so pack up your balls" even though the bar was open for another two hours. When we tried to explain that we didn't know it was our turn this particular waitstaff FLIPPED US OFF and told us to GET THE FUCK OUT IF YOURE NOT GOING TO PLAY. The consultation prize was a "free" game of pool that we were never able to even start and they knocked off one shot from our bill. Never tried their food before their original location burned down, but heard great things. Don't be confused when you first get to this location, look for the billiards sign that says Triple and you're in the right place. Parking is like all of Scott's Addition so just look around behind the restaurant on the side streets and find free parking. I came here with friends and managed to beat the dinner rush, but we weren't early enough for the happy hour (ends at 6pm on weekdays). The server was patient with us while we waited for our last friend, even though it took a good 15 minutes. The menu is super simple, just your traditional tacos plus a few interesting types like portabella and tofu. I ordered the chorizo (yes!!), shrimp, and tofu tacos and our table shared the nachos with pulled beef added. The server made a mistake and brought me a fish taco instead of shrimp, and I wasn't terribly upset at first- I was already considering trying the fish anyways, so I told them not to worry about it. To my pleasant surprise, the server ended up bringing me a packed up shrimp taco to take home, and I thought that was really exemplary of going the extra mile in service. All the food was delicious AND super filling. Their tortillas are amazingly fluffy, and they double up on the tortillas per taco like an authentic taqueria. Love this place! What a spot! Since moving to the museum district the convenience of this bar and the great time I always have had made it my go to place. BEST BAR NACHOS EVER. The toppings were generous and perfectly layered throughout the chips. Every chip had the perfect amount of topping... put together exactly how you'd put together nachos in your own kitchen as opposed to typical bar style - pile of nachos with another pile of toppings on top. If you're going for dinner on a weekend it's gonna be busy, and there will probably be a wait. The back half (with the pool tables) has stools along the sides and awesome big leather sofas to chill in, which is all classified as bar area (which you can order food at). If you want to hang and it's too busy to get a timely table but you don't care about having to go back and forth to bar to serve yourself it's a great option! I'm moving out of RVA in a few months and I think I'll be missing this spot the most. read more

(Currently sitting here eating leftover nachos) My first experience at the new location was terrible. I had to park 5 blocks away in the pouring rain since there's no parking lot and limited street parking. Then I had to wait about five minutes before the hostess appeared and was sent to the bar to purchase a gift card. Only after searching for the $5 tokens they use for several minutes did the bartender mention they only accept cash for them. And of course since it was raining so hard I didn't want to get my purse soaked and had just grabbed my debit card... Besides that, I love Don't Look Back. We came with friends on a weekend night and had to wait about 40 minutes for a table, which we expected. I do think they could put some more seating or tall tables in the pool area since there is such a long wait on busy nights so people don't have to stand awkwardly in the middle of floor with their drinks. We got a variety of tacos, chips and dips, and quesadillas and were all happy campers. My husband and I called in an order last night to be picked up. Got two tacos, a quesadilla, and a small order of nachos for around $20. Husband picked it up about 20 minutes later and we were astonished at the gargantuan size of the small nachos. We didn't even put a dent in then last night, they're just as good cold (and I hate leftover nachos), and I've only been able to eat about half of them the second time around. I forgot that the tacos come either gringo or traditional style, so I just went with traditional - don't if you're ordering tofu. I was really disappointed considering how much hype and attention they'd been getting. I went with one friend on a weekday and our wait was not long. The two-person tables are so crammed together that the people seated at neighboring tables have to stand and slide their table over so those seated against the wall can get out (or else risk food being knocked onto the floor). Being so close made it impossible to not overhear neighboring conversations. My friend and I both ordered margaritas however they tasted like watered down Gatorade and had very little tequila. I ordered the frito pie. The dish was quite small for the price. There were not enough toppings for all of the chips and I was left with a pile of soggy Fritos. When the original Carytown location burnt down, I was heartbroken. When the new location at Triple Crossing opened, my heart soared... Though I was a little nervous. The food was decent. My server was polite. The host was very unwelcoming. I had friends in town that invited me to meet them at Don't Look Back tonight-- I'd never been there before. I arrived first and when the host met me at the front he advised that he did not have any available seating. I let him know I was willing to wait and he said it would be about 30 minutes. I had to ask him if he would like any information from me, so he took my name. After about ten minutes, he came outside to let my friends and I know that he could squeeze our party of three at a two top if we didn't mind. We didn't, so we were seated at approximately 6:09 (I got a phone call as we were seated). After we paid our check, my friends and I chatted for a bit until the host "hated to do this to us" but asked us to leave because people were waiting to be seated. Another first for me!! I was instantly bothered because I checked the time and it was 7:25. Not to mention, there was a couple seated next to us, at a four top, with their check paid and Togo boxes bagged up for a very long time-- I noticed because I felt like the woman was actively listening to mine and my friends' conversation lol. Great place! Got here for my gf bachelorette party and this was our first stop! Friendly staff, they offered us mimosas even though it was about 20 mins after they "stopped serving them" food was good, tons of space to hangout, pool and other games to play and the drinks were delish. I like this place. The setup is a little odd, but it's casual and comfortable. The staff is friendly and the happy hour specials aren't bad. My one complaint is that nothing is spicy. The chips, which seem fresh (and may come warmed, if I'm not mistaken), are light and crispy --but the salsas are rather bland. I've had mixed results with the daily special taco (1 or 2 great, more often meh), and even the regulars. But I've never been disappointed with the fish taco. My favorite tacos in town! The carnitas is so flavorful and has a light crisp on the outside that adds to the texture. I always get the traditional style because the cilantro and onions adds a lot to the flavor. I've driven or walked by this place so many times and had no idea that I should've walked inside. After someone recommended it to me, I decided to give it a shot one weekend afternoon. It was busy but not packed and the patrons and staff were all friendly. I was leaning toward the enchilada but my server redirected me to the tacos as this is their calling card. So, I decided to try the fish, carnitas, portobello, and breakfast tacos. My only mistake on this trip was getting four tacos. They are much larger and more filling than I had anticipated. I mean, I finished them though... they were delicious. The fish taco was great with the cabbage on top. The carnitas taco was my favorite and they do not skimp on the fillings. The portobello was very flavorful and probably my other favorite. The breakfast taco was good but seemed very plain next to the other three. Not its fault. I look forward to coming back, trying more, and hopefully updating my review to five read more

Beer was quickly brought, chips quickly housed (yes, order them: they are fresh & crisp). The tacos themselves are filled to the brim (literally) with flavor. I get the Covid19 precautions, if they didn't take every precaution there would be a Yelp review to destroy them. However, can someone at least serve the drinks instead of us going to the bar? After all, a waitperson did deliver our food, so what's the difference?! Damn, just sit our drinks at the end of our big ass 5-top lounge table. And I'm sorry it's a plastic cup, but margaritas do come with salt, but no effort was made to even salt the plastic cup. Just close if you can't even bother to make an effort or at least explain why a plastic cup cannot be salted while I'm standing there waiting for my drink. Maybe dipping a plastic cup in lime juice and salt doesn't work w/ plastic, just tell me that so I understand that you're not just making trifling drinks. It's ok, I'm reasonable. Regardless, the vegan potato tacos I received were pitifully filled. I felt like I was eating a plain tortilla w/ almost nothing in it. Thankfully others in my party later received more filling, but mine were pathetic. But of course, we had no server so no one checked on whether our food was ok or not.
