Awesome spot!!!! We walked in on a Saturday morning and the customer service here was awesome! Very cheerful and friendly. I wanted to try everything here so my fiancé and I ordered two of each to taste. A sausage, jalapeño and cheese kolache, glazed donut and potato, bacon, cheese and potato taco. They have coffee and fridges with cold drinks. They have a few tables to sit at so we sat and ate our goodies. They have salsa here for your tacos. It's not spicy unless you're sensitive to heat. I tend to eat very spicy stuff so it wasn't spicy. The taco was ok. The glazed donut was tasty. The stand out item for us was the sausage, jalapeño and cheese kolache. The cheese and jalapeño pieces inside the kolache is where it's at! So good! It definitely had a great kick to it and for me it was delicious. The outside of the kolache (bread) was nice and soft. We have had some amazing breakfast tacos, donuts and kolaches elsewhere....but eating local with superb customer service really made this spot stand out. The prices are VERY reasonable here! The service this morning was wonderful. Despite their A/C being out the employee was bright and cheerful. His attitude was not at all effected by the sauna he was working in. The Chocolate glazed donuts were amazing. I got a potato & egg taco but sadly the potatoes weren't cooked all the way. But all in all I'd return to this place simply for the service and coffee. read more

This newer place, tucked between Bealls and Goodwill on Palm Valley/79, is a nice treat! They have two sizes of kolaches and several different types. The large sausage and cheese was nice, as it had some heft to it but also melted in the mouth--very tasty! They will warm them in the microwave for you right there. The glazed blueberry cake donuts were just the right mix of cake, moisture, blueberries, and icing. The place is easy to get to and has more than ample parking. Inside is painted white which makes it seem clean and airy. Today was my first visit and I was in a rush but I'm pretty sure there were a few seats inside, too. According to the counter person, they've been open about 6 months and are owned by the same owners as Daylight Donuts in Georgetown. This has been a regular stop for me since they opened. The owner is super friendly and they have the best kolaches especially the jumbo in round rock. TIP: if you toss a few dollars in the tip jar you're sure to get some free donut holes or a 13th donut in your dozen next time. They are located next to Planet Fitness which is convenient since after a few visits to Donut 79 you will need to stop there too. read more

This small little shop tucked into a strip mall will keep you coming back for more! The donuts are delicious! If your in the mood for a old fashion covered in chocolate or a sausage stuffed into sweet bread run to Donut 79. Get there early as they only make a limited quantity and they sell out of the good stuff fast! Coffee is nothing special and the cold drinks are a bit pricy so keep that in mind and you will love how cheap the donuts are!! Eat up!! read more

OH FOR THE LOVE! The last time I visited this establishment was YESTERDAY AT 6:15AM and guess what, to my great surprise, it was NOT YET OPEN! What kind of donut place isn't open at 6:!5 in the morning?!?! COME ON! And I"d love to say this only happened once and the rest were great times, but I've been to this place at least three other times (under old and new ownership) and they weren't open for two visits! I managed to get inside the door on only one occasion... only to find out they were out of, you guessed it, DONUTS! This was at 6 am in the morning mid-week. The blueberry donuts are delicious and fluffy! What a gem in Round Rock! I also had the bacon and egg taco as well as the potato and egg. Although smaller tacos than most places, the tacos are surprisingly very good for a donut shop. The salsa seems home made and very delicious. After reading some of the positive reviews, I was excited to try this place out. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. After walking in, I initially began ordering donuts...until I noticed 20-30+ fruit flies flying all around and on top the donuts in the donut housing. What's more bothersome is that the cashier didn't notice this until I pointed it out to her. She was kind and try to shoo the flies out of the case, but I canceled my donut order immediately. I looked over in the kolache case, and thankfully, there weren't any flies. The kolaches were very good, tasty and fresh. With that said, I'm not sure what the sanitary conditions are in the back of the shop if fruit flies are breeding and then able to make it over to the food... read more

These are hands-down the best donuts in RR. I'd put these up against Round Rock Donuts any day. I love the white icing varieties, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything here. Stopped by for my second time today. My gold standard for donuts has been Serena's up the road a bit, but I think this place is just as good. Sometimes there's a 10-15 minute wait at Serena's, but not here. Donuts are fresh, warm, and crunchy on the outside while moist and tender on the inside, just the way I love em! Two diff times I got charged for bacon and didn't get it in my tacos either time. Twice I got food poisoning from their bfast tacos in the same week. Called and told em and they just offered me something else. Used to be a regular I will never eat there again. Also their donuts are brought in a personal van and they are uncovered when delivered. Like I don't care how they are brought it but cover them, that's just gross!! Sausage kolaches are either undercooked(doughy) or burnt, in the same box!!! The service wasn't that great. We asked for multiple different things and got told repeatedly, "oh no we don't have that... no we don't have those either". Then when asking to get some tacos without cheese, were told that they all had cheese on them but she could "scrape some off"..... I'm sorry? My son has a severe dairy allergy. If you don't have some without cheese you should offer to make some fresh. But I don't think any of the tacos we got were made to order. Rather just kept hot. I was happy to see an option other than the highly over-rated Round Rock Donuts, and was at Donut 79 the day they opened. The donuts are good, and I've been back a few times since. However,posted hours are 5am-2pm 7 days a week, and they seem to be having problems lately opening on time. I work nights, and stopped in this morning at 6am on the way home. 2 people were carrying trays of donuts in from the back of an SUV, and they were not ready for customers. The last 2 weeks, I went by at the same time. The lights were not on, and nobody was in the store. Today was 3rd strike for me, so they need to get things together or face losing more customers. read more
