I'm a huge fan of bagel sandwiches and have tried bagels from many places. With that out of the way, Donut Basket has a small selection of bagels, but that doesn't stop their bagels from being amazing. I ordered #6 with Jalapeno bagel It actually taste like a jalapeno bagel versus other places where its a bagel with a slight whiff of jalapeno. Truly a gem and love that they offer something different from other donut shops in the bay area! They have FILLED small donut holes and FILLED small cronut holes, which is awesome. For donut holes you have the options of custard, raspberry, or chocolate (i think) for filling. For cronut holes, they can fill it with custard. They also offer cronuts here, which is a baby hybrid between a croissant dough and donut shape. Super interesting and it is very easy to order things here. Definitely very cool that this shop has something different to order, and everything is very affordable. You can pay with card, however if your total is less than $10 then there is a small fee. Might be best to have cash on hand just in case if you plan on spending less than $10 during your visit. read more

This is our favorite spot for donuts, and both my fiance and I agree it's SO much better than Krispy Kreme. The donuts aren't overly sweet like many places, and there's a ton of variety. They even have some more unique flavors like ube. Even when they aren't warm, the donuts still have a really nice buttery melt in your mouth texture. Recently I had to make a larger order for an event, and so many people asked where I bought the donuts because of how good they were! Walking around on foot to burn daily calories and running errands makes me hungry. First time inside. They actually have a very diversified selection of items/good menu. Down side would be not enough tables/chairs inside for customers, but then again, it's a very small/old place and most customers order food to go. They have everything else. Condiments on the left side of the place. Refrigerator, bakery display, and foods were heavily stocked. It definitely surprised me. Impressive for such a small place. Convenient. Cashier/staff attentive and friendly. Great place to order, grab and go. No worries about anything running out. Donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee beverages looked very delicious/tempting and portion sizes were huge! That's a bonus. I've had the cronuts at Dominique Ansel in NY during the craze and this version is decent. I prefer the cronut holes over the actual cronut. It has a texture of a croissant but not to flaky. Still has a slight taste of a donut, crispy on the outside and the glaze tops it all off!!! A must try if you are in the area. I arrived at 10:30am and actual cronuts were sold out. I love this place and the mom and pop who run it. They're always so nice and I always get extras in my box! Their doughnuts are always nice and fresh. I am a HUGE fan of their apple fritter and I can't resist getting a dozen or more glazed doughnut holes every time I stop in. I usually get the glazed cronut holes; great not filled, but amazing filled with the not overly sweet custard (if you're into custards!). The cronuts holes also come in cinnamon sugar, and the 'regular' sized cronuts (they're pretty big!) come with a couple more combo options. Their breakfast sandwiches are also good! Came back to get more cronut holes and ended up trying a bear claw as well. I think the bear claw may be their best item! It doesn't look like the typical bear claw (with almond filling and topping), but that's because it has this apple pie filling inside. Waaay better than their apple fritter because even at room temp, the outside is still soft and the filling still gooey. Cronut holes are still excellent. I've tried both the glazed and the cinnamon sugar, and while I prefer the glazed because they're a little less messy, both are light and fluffy and somehow more satisfying than regular donut holes. For some reason, their other donut offerings don't look super appealing. I tried one of the crullers and found it rather tasteless and boring. But don't sleep on the bear claw and their cronut holes! Happy there's a place in Milpitas that serves cronuts. My first visit here was on a Sunday afternoon, and they were out of cronuts but still had cronut holes, which are just as delicious. I ordered a dozen and the person at the counter snuck in a few more. My second visit I stopped by to pre-order donuts for my wedding the next morning and everything from the ordering to pick up went smoothly. First setting the expectation that this is NOT a swanky hipster bakery, but your neighborhood donut shop, it gets a solid 5 stars. It's down the street from my house and I've been getting donuts here over the years well before it switched management within the past year or two. Before the change in management, I would have given it a 2.5 to 3 star rating - the star equivalent of, "eh, it's alright." But now Donut Basket is a great spot to get some slightly above average donuts! Other Yelpers have reviewed the cronut and like I said, don't expect some super insane patisserie-level cronuts, but they are pretty damn good. Donut shops make me happy! I saw pictures of the BLT & egg croissant sandwich and knew I had to get it. When I went inside, I looked for it on the menu. I ordered the bacon & egg croissant sandwich, thinking it would be the BLT. To my surprise, it was a croissant filled with scrambled eggs and bacon. The croissant was buttery and fluffy! I drizzled sriracha inside, which made it pretty satisfying. It costs $3.50. My boyfriend and I also got a dozen of custard filled donut holes. All donut shops should learn from this shop by injecting the custard in once the customer orders it. No lie, they were delicious. They were humungo too! That glaze, that dough, that custard, mm mm mm! It was just as good the next day too (refrigerated of course). A dozen costs $4. Two days later, I just had to go back for what I originally came for: the beautiful BLT and fried egg croissant. It's funny cause I went up to the pop that works there and I said, "Can I get a BLT croissant?" He was like, "What?" So I had to say "Bacon, lettuce, tomato". Figures they wouldn't know what BLT means, haha. My sandwich came out in less than 5 minutes. The thing is HUGE. It was fully packed with lettuce, red onions (love love love), a big slice of tomato, a fried egg, bacon pieces, and just the right amount of cheese. There was so much lettuce and onions, I had to take some out because the flavors were too overpowering, but props to them for being so generous with their portions! The sandwich didn't wow me (I probably hyped it up for myself) but I'm glad I tried it! It costs $5.
