Amazing. These donuts are the bomb. Made in house there specialty donuts are to die for. There best specialty donut is by far the maple bacon donut. I was unsure of it when I got it, but my decision was justified as soon as I took a bite! As well as the maple bacon the sugar jelly donut was amazing. The new craze in donuts are " Specialty Donut Shops". I'm not aware of when or where this all started but there is for sure quite a difference in taste and quality depending on where you get your donut fix. Donut Crazy has joined the donut revolution. They have a large variety on their menu with names like; cannoli , pb&j, maple bacon. They are not cheap! A dozen will put a crimp in your wallet for sure. The only drawback is that they are expanding opening shops in surrounding towns. Seeing that this is happening is good for the business but trying to keep taste and quality seems to have a negative effect on the donuts. They should take a tip from a similar shop in New Jersey call Glazed. They have taken the spotlight on gourmet donuts. The Glazed shop has a phenomenal customer following. They highlight taste and quality use only the best ingredients. Customers really don't mind paying $25 plus for a dozen from a large selection of flavored donuts. People come to their locations from miles around. Suggest Donut Crazy take a trip and see how great tasting special delicious doughnuts are made. read more

Clueless people working in the front and in the back. Waited 25 minutes for a breakfast sandwich (which cost $5 by the way) only to drive away with it, take a bite and find out they forgot the meat. I'm not a big donut person but I enjoyed the donuts here! I got myself a maple bacon donut which was good! I don't like sweet stuff much so it was enough for me. I brought home some sort of ultimate red velvet donut as well as 2 classic donuts for my family, all of which they loved! In total it cost around $12 for the 4 donuts. We were frequent customers of donut crazy up until today. My mom purchased a dozen donuts from the Stratford location yesterday and when she got home everyone noticed mold on the 2 powdered donuts and everyone was grossed out and wouldn't eat any of them. I called the owner today on behalf of my mom and explained the situation and instead of apologizing and trying to make the situation right he proceeded to tell me that there was "no possible way there could be mold on the donuts." He argued with me rather than saying, "gee I'm so sorry, I have no idea how that could have happened! Please come in and we will refund you." Instead...he pretty much implied that we were lying and would not refund us for the donuts. I told him we would bring them in to show him the mold. He said "we can't refund you, we'll just exchange them!" Terrible business man! Not to mention whenever we go there they screw up a simple coffee order and are more concerned about "flat top or travel top" for your coffee lid! Will never go back here!!!! read more

My first and last visit to Donut Crazy in Stratford. If I could give no stars I would. Went with my friend for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. When we entered, there was one girl as cashier. The woman in front of us ordered food. Next it was my turn and I ordered a coffee. She made the coffee. I then tried to order an egg sandwich and she said "no. I don't know what's going on. The kitchen is backed up. Your total is $3.70" I asked, so I can't order food? And she said no. I have never been refused food somewhere. There was only one other person inside. The woman before me got food so why was I turned away? This cashier also rudely yelled at another customer while entering, that there could only be 3 people inside at a time. I understand the regulations, but at least be kind to your customers. The coffee was gross, the service was HORRIBLEEEE. Save your money and go to the deli down the street. You're welcome. read more

I had never been to Donut Crazy, but my children have. They have brought donuts over to my house from them. I went there on Friday morning to purchase a dozen donuts because some of my family was coming over. As a few people were eating the donuts, my daughter went to get the powdered bavarian cream and gasped and said there was mold on it. We walked over thinking maybe it was frosting from another donut. It was not. It was mold, only on the two powdered bavarian cream. (obviously they were not baked fresh that morning as I was told and obviously somehow they had remained in their donut compartment for sometime without having been removed). I went to the Donut Crazy shop only AFTER we called first to tell them about it. I was greeted by two of the nastiest people I have ever met. They were waiting for me to arrive and upon looking at the two donuts in the box which clearly had mold on them, I was accused by both the man and the woman of having purposely brought in old donuts. After many rude comments by them to me, the man looked at the woman and said with anger - "give her her money back". I proceeded to tell them both how shocked I was at how they were treating me, and the woman proceeded to open the cash register and throw 12.00 at me (I paid 12.82) and state " I'm not the owner so I can treat you anyway I want". I then asked for the donuts back instead of the money because I was going to take the donuts with mold and bring them to the health department. They refused to give me the donuts back - the woman grabbed the box and took themj off the counter. I have never, in all my years on this earth been treated so rudely and disrespectfully by people who own a business establishment of any kind. Please go to Dunkin Donuts or Icing on the cake or the grocery store for your donuts! This establishment really has no business running a donut shop that treats people which such disrespect and rudeness simply because they are being told something is wrong with what they purchased. The owner needs to take classes in how to treat his customers and run a business. Shame on them. read more

I got the crime brûlée which looked gorgeous, but the filling tasted like run of the mill Boston cream filling. Stopped by for some specialty doughnuts during our visit to Connecticut. They did not dissapoint! My friend and I shared 3: Mud Pie, Red Velvet Surprise & Almond Joy. Surprisingly, sometimes simplicity is best - the Red Velvet Surprise was the best of the three! Would definitely recommend to anyone who appreciates a doughnut - be it basic or elaborate! Insanely good, and extremely super friendly staff. We found this place by searching yelp. From the moment I walked in I knew it would a experience. We started off with trying the PB&J and Fat Elvis. From the 1st to the last we ate not speaking a word other then MMMMMM. The following weekend we returned and my in-laws from NYC. Once they experienced the first bite they said, "this alone is worth the drive to CT". Their coffee is excellent, and spoke with customers about how excellent the breakfast sandwiches are. The rating would be 5 stars, except for a few not-so-nice workers. I was in the store on 6.2.2019. The owner apparently was in the store at the same time. I overheard the owner tell the two cashiers that she called and had been on hold for ten minutes. Both girls said they didn't remember the call, but when one picked up the phone, she could tell it was still on hold. The owner left about two minutes later, and one of the girls started speaking about her in a disparaging manner. I think this is a reprehensible act, and should never be done in front of customers. The owner was still outside at this time, and this writer went to let her know what was being said. She went back into the store and spoke with the manager (I'm assuming), then had an immediate meeting with the other two employees. The manager told them that if they were going to speak, they should wait until there were no customers in the store. One of the other workers then said, "motherfuckers just want to get people in trouble." This should also not been allowed to happen, loudly, while customers are in the store. I am not trying to get anyone in trouble. I think this is a great store, but it should be run with a better class of employees. The cook, who works in the back, is amazing. And, to be fair, I've never seen this happen with any of the other workers. read more

We came up to the area to visit relatives on New Years day and needed to grab lunch. Most places are closed and this place worked out well for us. I had the avocado toast with goat cheese and it was excellent. My husband had the egg and cheese sandwich he was happy with it. If we are here next time will have to try the donuts.
