We had been to the Destin area a few times and wanted to stop by this place, but it always seemed to be packed. They have a few throughout the area. We eventually hit the bullet and stopped by. The wait was not too bad (less than 30 minutes) on a weekday morning. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and the fiancé ordered the waffle. Both were good but not excellent. The service was decent considering how busy the place was. They also have a donut shop, which we didn't try. Maybe next time we will stop by for the donuts. read more

First time coming to the Donut Hole and it's a great spot to grab some breakfast food. You can even compare this place to an Denny's or iHop. This place is in a league of its own. Great clean location, nice staff, clean restrooms. The "diet" plate was excellent and was more food than I could eat. We got some donuts to go and all of the ones we tried were excellent. I should have asked, but ordered corn beef hash, it was good but the corned beef came out in huge chunks(guess i was raised on the can stuff so it's hard to compare). Most of it was good but some pieces were tough or just so fatty I could not eat. My wife had the bacon omelette scrambled with tortillas and loved it. Been coming to donut hole for a long time- as a beach attendant it's convenient that they open early and food is cheap- or was cheap. Everything was marked up a decent bit and after finding out how they treat and manage staff in the front of house I won't be returning. If you plan on eating here just know there is always a wait unless you arrive when they open, but it's worth it! My girlfriend and I arrived and was lucky enough to find parking right up front. The parking lot was quite full at the time. We waited in line for about 20 minutes before we were sat and let me say there hostess was on it! She communicated with the staff and guest as well and she did it all herself! Once sat, our table was clean and our server Elvis welcomed us in. He gave us a moment to look over the menu and came back with our drinks (water & sweet tea) then we ordered. My girlfriend had The Everything Breakfast (Pictured) and I had the Chicken & Waffles (Pictured). We ended our brunch with there bakery up front. We got a chocolate glazed donut, pineapple upside down cake (Pictured), & a chocolate chip cookie (Pictured). It was all very delicious, but the donut. The Everything Breakfast: Pancakes were HUGE, yet light and fluffy. The strawberries & bananas were very fresh and a great addition to the pancakes. The bacon was crispy, sausage cooked thoroughly and full of flavor, Ham was sweet & the hash browns crispy, yet soft. I mean perfection. Chicken & Waffles: Chicken was hand dipped and delicious! It wasn't dry and had full of flavor. There Belgium Waffle was the best waffle I've ever had in my life. It was so crispy around the edges and once you dug into the middle there was such a light, fluffy texture. Amazing! The salty sweet balance was incredible and they did have syrup already handy on the table. Chocolate Glazed Donut: Not the best donut in the world. It was ok it great. It was kind of dry in the middle. Pineapple Upside Down Cake: Very sweet and tart. It's super moist and soft, yet there's an airiness to it. You have the tart pineapple to create a nice harmony between the two. I really enjoyed it. Chocolate Chip Cookie: This cookie is HUGE. I mean bigger than my hand lol It was good not great. Chocolate chips were huge - they were more like chunks. Sweet Tea: Refreshing & sweet as it should be! All in all, Elvis did an incredible job and I ended up paying about $34 for our meal & the baked goods. I tipped him $8, so the bill was around $41. Well worth it! Will we be back? I never had the chance to try one myself, but my fiancé couldn't stop talking about their donuts. I always order the blue crab Benedict, it is really fresh with good flavors. And the "diet" platter is hilarious and tastes amazing. This place is very tasty for a touristy area. However, if you compare it to any famous place in downtown Chicago, NYC or LA, it will disappoint you. It's a 3 star over all, but actually a 4 star for the Panama City beach area.
