    Some of the doughnuts

This is a nice friendly moment and pop doughnut shop. Its small, but they have a good selection. The doughnutshop are really good. I was surprised to get an extra doughnut. They treat everyone like family here. It seems like most of the customers are regulars. They have a bunch of customer pictures on the wass. There's even a free library with a few books. Come visit this friendly little shop.

Ham & Cheese - Batter raw and needs to be toasted first not microwave

Came here to get Ham & Cheese Croissant. The price was fair at $6. Nice little donut shop. Small selection. Lady was nice. English lacking. The strange thing was the ham & cheese was given sort of raw/uncooked with option to microwave yourself. She did mention toasting as an option. I tried microwave for 50 sec as suggested but the dough was still raw. After a few bites had to go back and request it to be toasted and it turned out much better. Suggestion to owner: Ham&cheese shouldnt be served raw this way from fridge and should be cooked already. And if not, microwave should not be suggested. Rather straight to toaster before giving to customer.

I had a wonderful experience here at Donut House, was recommended by my co-workers who used to work here and stated that the donuts are really good. Upon arriving at Donut House around 9am on a Friday, there were a couple of customers before me coming out of the shop with boxes of donuts so you know it has to be good. Entering in the shop, you are welcome in by the staff (Not sure if she's the owner) and the show case of all the fresh donuts, lots to choose and I was overwhelm because I didn't know which ones to get. It's been a long time since I haven't had a donut so it was hard to choose one. I ended up with a sugar twisty, just one donut and I was caught off guard when she handed me the bag...she added a couple of donut holes. You guys, the twisty was only $1.95 and in this economy what a freaking steal! And you get a couple of donut holes too on which I ate later on that day since the twisty was just enough for me to get my morning going. I love that there are tables for you to take a seat and enjoy your food, and how there is a little library in the corner of the store and lots of selections of drinks from Hot to Cold. This is a local spot, a mom & pop shop so I'm definitely coming back because this to me was a hidden gem in San Clemente with reasonable prices.

Donut House in San Clemente is a hidden gem that delivers exactly what you want from a classic donut shop: fresh, delicious treats and that old-school charm. Whether you're stopping in early for a box to go or grabbing a late-morning coffee and donut, the service is always fast and friendly. The ladies are awesome!!! Their glazed and old-fashioned donuts are melt-in-your-mouth good, and the crumb and maple bars are crowd favorites. You can tell everything is made fresh daily, with just the right balance of sweetness and fluff. The coffee is solid, and their prices are super reasonable--especially considering the quality. It's the kind of spot that locals love and visitors remember. No frills, just really good donuts made with care. Rating: 5/5 - Worth the stop every time you're in town.

Writing this review makes me want to take a road trip to San Clemente. My family and I recently stayed at the Surf Breaker Hotel and took advantage of its proximity to the Donut House. We kicked off each morning with donuts, muffins, croissants, and breakfast sandwiches. They even had a beverage menu with a number of elevated coffees. I personally loved pairing their chocolate glazed old fashion with a chai tea latte. Other favorites among our group included their tiger claw and the maple bacon donut. They seemed to be well stocked throughout the day, so no need to crawl out of bed at 8am. Be sure to check in on Yelp for a free donut!

Great experience! The customer service was awesome and the donuts were even better. Absolutely delicious. My dad said he'd never had a "good apple fritter" in california and I got one from here and he said it's the best he's ever had. 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic donut shop, the kind of donuts you'll drive a little further for…read more I stopped in late one morning while in San Juan Capistrano and near the plaza it's located. It's a small shop with some counter seating and several tables outside the front door. They had around a dozen types on display. Sadly, they were out of old fashioned donuts (my favorite). But on the happy side of things, right when I walked in, they were putting out some brown butter donuts, fresh out of the fryer. I immediately pointed and asked for one of those. I also chose a maple raised and a maple bacon. The woman helping me was quite perky with a great smile. I'm certain the thought of why this guy was buying three huge donuts to eat all by himself never crossed her mind. I ate them throughout the afternoon...the warm brown butter one as soon as I got into the car. The cake of the donut was so soft and warm. If it were larger, I would have cuddled up next to it and taken a nap. The brown butter glaze was topped with a Maldon sea salt brittle. Sweet and salty. This was my favorite, probably because it was so darn fresh. The other two donuts had thick, soft cakes but not as soft as the fresh one. The maple donut was great. You could really tell they use quality maple syrup in the glaze. The maple bacon was similar with the addition of bacon on top. It was messy as some of the crumbled bacon fell off with each bite. They provide individual boxes for each donut so keep it under your chin to catch the crumbles! The bacon is seasoned with black pepper and cayenne. These are high-quality, delicious donuts. I think they're some of the best out there.

Otherwise, I rarely get to visit since it's quite a trek with my work and busy schedule. From my many prior reviews, you know I'm a fan. My favorites (Lemon Blueberry, Old Fashioned, and Maple Bacon) are my go-to. However, on the occasion where my friend chooses a mixed variety, they are all a hit! Great donuts, beautiful packaging, and friendly service is what you'll get here at JD Flannel!

Niguel Bakery & Donuts isn't just a place we eat -- it's where our kids grew up…read more Let me get the obvious out of the way first: yes, the donuts are legit. Our go-to favorites are the chocolate cronut (dangerous), the glazed old fashioned, and their cake donuts -- the kind that remind you why donuts were invented in the first place. But here's what most people don't realize... The deli is a hidden gem. My wife's favorite is their American Mexi-Cal style breakfast burrito -- and for good reason. Huge, insanely good value, big crispy buttery potatoes, soft chewy tortillas, and a portion size that laughs at inflation. I recently had their Boar's Head deli-sliced ham and cheese on sourdough with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles, and I genuinely don't have the vocabulary to describe how soft and perfect that sandwich was. It's not "good for a donut shop." It's just really good. But honestly? The food is only part of why this place matters to us. Our kids practically grew up here. Dave and Dani have known our family since before our kids were even born. They've seen both of our children grow -- literally from in the womb, to infants, to toddlers, and now our kids are 2 and 7 years old. We'll be posting photos through the years because... yeah, this place is part of our family history. That's not something you can fake. This is one of those rare neighborhood spots where you sit for hours in the morning, coffee in hand, talking with locals, laughing, and catching up. It's where the community actually feels like a community. The owners, Dave and Dani, are some of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. Dave is basically a big kid himself (especially when it comes to cars) and somehow always finds ways to surprise my kids with random little toys -- the kind of moments kids remember forever. I grew up in a small town in Virginia, out of my own mom's deli and convenience store -- where locals gathered over coffee, the Washington Post (and yes... cigarettes back then ). Living on the West Coast without family nearby, Niguel Bakery & Donuts gives me that same feeling of home. This is a place where kids can still feel safe like the old days -- riding bikes with friends, scraping together change for a snack... and if they're a little short and have been on their best behavior, Dave and Dani might just take care of them anyway. That kind of generosity can't be taught -- it's who they are. It's an East Coast bodega-style bakery/deli, right here in Laguna Niguel, and they don't just talk about community -- they show it through the countless non-profit events, food donations, and local causes they support. If you're looking for more than just donuts -- if you want great food, real people, and a place that feels like home -- this is it. We'll be here tomorrow morning. And the next day. And probably for years to come.
