When we pulled up it def looked like a hole in the wall (hurricane Irma took their sign!) but the donuts were crazy good! Great cheerful customer service, and the prices crazy cheap! This is by far my ALL TIME FAVORITE donut shop. The variety is amazing. They have super fresh donuts just about any time of the day. I was a teacher and I used to call in orders for special party days in my classroom. They always got the order right and the order was always ready on time. The only reason I didn't give them 5 starts is because there is very little seating inside. I mean, there are maybe 8 chairs to sit in at two tables. The furniture is also kind of beat up. The tables are probably 7-8 years old and it's definitely time to replace them. The last time I was there (Nov. 2018) there was some kind of construction going on inside and that's the reason there was no more seating anymore. Also, plan on waiting about 10-15 minutes on average to get your order. Because Donut King is so popular, there is usually always a bit of a line to buy your donuts. They also serve other foods during the day. We've gotten castle burgers before and they also have chicken and waffles. They also serve jambalaya, although I've never had it there. The coffee is always hot and delicious. You won't be disappointed and I guarantee you'll be planning your return trip soon after you leave the first time!! read more

When I die I want my family and friends to throw Donut King cream filled donuts onto my coffin instead of flowers. THAT is how much I like them. Some of the kids who work here could be a bit more cordial, but they work at a 24 hour donut place in Minneola so I don't really blame them for the attitude. I normally LOVE their donuts. I always buy the glazed jelly donut. Red jelly. Normally great as the donut is LOADED with the red jelly. However, in the past two weeks, I got donuts that had almost no filling. This happened to me twice. The amount was only about the size of my finger nail. Either the filling machine is malfunctioning, or the person filling the donuts is not paying attention. Like I said, this has happened twice now. When they come out FRESH fresh from the back, even more so. But they are all fresh so you can't go wrong. Also, being a northerner, I missed my White Castle until I came here. OMG! When people say these are the best donuts ever they are not kidding! I've always been partial to Dunkin Donuts but they have officially been dethroned by Donut King. So what makes these so much better than everywhere else? Pretty much everything. For starters there are so many different varieties of donuts. Each time I have donuts from here, there are always three or four I've never seen before. And the flavors aren't just your generic everyday plain or frosted-they have those but they also have donuts topped with fruit loops, toffee or butterfinger, red velvet and Bavarian creme filled. Then there's the size of them; they are much bigger than your standard donut. And then besides the low price they are offered at, you have taste. They are fluffy and don't leave me with that awful heavy feeling after. The chocolate frosting tastes like ganache and the Bavarian creme is super sweet. And for those of you unconvinced, they also have donut holes so you can sample a few different varieties. read more

Holy smokes this place is nuts. Huge selection of donuts, and they are amazing. I get a coupon about once a month for buy 6 get 6 free, and bring them to work. I'm everyone's favorite guy that day. The doughnuts are hearty, delicious, fresh. I haven't had anything other than donuts here, but they have some really delicous looking pastries that I would love to try one day. On my first visit to the Winter Park location, I tried the maple bacon donut and the Heath bar donut, and my taste buds nearly died of happiness. Warm, fresh, soft, and perfectly sweet. I initially wanted to leave a poor review. I wanted to explain my experience on Sunday, March 22nd. I thought the customer service was lacking, the gentleman that helped me looked annoyed that I was even there and the donuts were dry, uneven in shape and left nothing to be desired. I called (around 6pm) on Sunday after leaving the store to speak to a manager about this, only to be told, "I'm sorry, there is no manager here to deal with your problems." I was very frustrated, but decided to wait it out. Here is where my experience changed to a positive. I called Monday, March 23rd around 4-5pm and asked to speak to the manager. I was placed on a brief hold and then a young lady answered the phone. She sounded young, but she was apologetic and understanding. She reassured me that she will personally make sure that my donuts are exactly what I am wanting. She informed me that she will be there until 10pm the rest of the week, so I am at ease knowing that she will make sure I have exactly what I want. I did not catch her name because I was frustrated at the beginning, but please thank your employee for me. She turned my entire experience around! read more

Being from New Orleans and missing home this place is a gem to me. Please do not have high expectations of a cute or fancy little donut shop or diner. It is a "hole in the wall" that lacks any type of decor. However , all looks aside it's the food we go for. All of the donuts are AMAZING and the White Castle burgers are perfect! I don't understand how such wonderful donut creations from this little place off highway 27 in Minneola. People flock here, myself included not minding a 30 minute drive for a dozen donuts. It seems irrational, but these donuts are truly worth it. Ordering a dozen will allow you to try many different flavors, which is a benefit to spending the same $10 on a cake or cupcakes or some other food. A maple bacon donut is a must try. I came to Orlando with high expectations of the cuisine we would find here. I had a real Triple D moment at this little out of the way donut shop. Don't get me wrong, they have killer donuts. But I noticed gumbo on the menu. Yes, gumbo. What could I expect from donut shop gumbo? Children, let me tell you, I received a full flavored, sumptuous, hearty serving of the best tasting gumbo I have ever eaten. I got chicken, shrimp, and sausage with a thick gumbo gravy filled with all the right vegetables served over rice. The rice served as a vehicle to get that gravy from plate to mouth which served its purpose because there wasn't a grain of rice left.
