Fresh fluffy donuts and great space to bring the family! Service was quick and there was no line because we waited until 10:00, after the morning rush.

This donut shop is so cute!! It's tucked in a shopping center in the very corner but inside it is so nice! I heard this place is locally owned and I've always wanted to check it out. I wanted to bring in donuts to the office and this place did not disappoint at all. My coworkers were very content! I wasn't able to take a picture of the donuts but they were huge and amazing overall. I ordered a dozen donuts and asked for a random assortment. I also got an iced coffee with hazelnut syrup and a bit of sugar/cream and it was a 10/10. The cashier was so nice and helped me out which I totally appreciate. This place is definitely worth the drive!

By far the best I've had, hands down!! So soft & delicious. It's like biting into a cloud. You can definitely tell they're freshly made. Will be going back for sure!

This was my second visit and I ordered the donut holes with raspberry glaze and sprinkles, they were pretty good. I liked the flavor this time around, instead of just tasting sweet/sugar I did taste a hint of raspberry in the icing. I enjoyed the texture of the donut holes and subtle glaze. They went great with my coffee this morning, glad I gave this place another try. Donut holes $ 2.99 plus tax FYI

This little donut shop is tucked away and could easily be looked over but that would be a shame. The donuts are delicious!!! Very yeasty and soft. They offer several different varieties and each one seemed to be a great size. And their donut holes... I would go back just for truckloads of those, to be honest! They have to be the best donut holes I have ever devoured! The staff was also extremely friendly and very willing to answer any questions I had. I cannot wait to return soon!

Fairly new donut shop I decided to drop in on. It's off of Bacons Bridge, but it's easy to miss. Believe it's family owned. Offers a variety of donuts options which can be comparable to Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. They were delicious. Love to support a small business on the rise.

Today I went to an antique outdoor market to get a typewriter. I thought, hey...let me bring home donuts for my family as a nice gesture! I went to Dunkin and stood there for 5 minutes and they did not even acknowledge my presence...so I walked out. Plus I haven't been a fan of their food for a while. Their donuts taste so not fresh. I went down the street to Donut Makes and I'm so glad I did! They were so nice in there and their donuts and coffee are excellent! I got a vanilla iced latte. I got My husband the Boston cream donut and he really enjoyed it. We will be returning for sure! The donuts are airy, delicious, and FRESH!

Such great quality donuts! Being from CA we had a donut shop like this at every corner so moving to the Low Country finding Donutmakes has been amazing. If you're looking for a great quality , fresh donut this is your place (the shop is good in Nexton but the donuts can't compare). The customer service is phenomenal and is family owned. We have been several times and it never disappoints

I got the Woodstock drip coffee (I let the barista pick based on my preference for low acidity coffee), the Turkey C sandwich, my son got the banana bread and a PSL, my daughter's got a chai and blueberry muffins. My kids loved their treats and drinks, admittedly they are an easy audience. I enjoyed my coffee, as hoped for it was smooth a law acid, despite drinking it black. The sandwich was absolutely outstanding. Bacon was thick and smoky, the roll had just the right "squish" and "chewiness" of a good hard roll, and it wasn't greasy or sloppy at all, which is exactly why I picked it. The Mediterranean salad was not quite what I expected, I thought it would involve black olives and feta cheese, but it had neither, and I appreciated that it was different and not too oily. The food prices feel a touch high but if you look at the quality of the food, and their use of premium ingredients, it is reasonable for what you get. Staff was friendly and good came out fast. There is a long table for bigger groups and small tables for up to four to sit. In general, Summerville has been mostly misses for me on food, but I like Coastal Coffee and would return if I was in the area and wanting a bite or a brew. J.Ja

We actually stumbled upon Luxe Bar & Bistro while planning to head downtown, but a bridge closure caused major traffic, so we decided to change plans and just find somewhere local to enjoy a holiday cocktail. After checking reviews online, Luxe Bar & Bistro stood out, so we decided to give it a try -- and we're so glad we did. They have a large outdoor space, but of course, it started to rain as soon as we arrived. Luckily, they also have a covered front patio with a few chairs, which worked out perfectly. We each ordered two cocktails. I started with Under the Mistletoe -- Tito's, house-made rosemary simple syrup, lemon juice, topped with soda ($10). This was hands down the most delicious holiday drink I've had so far this season. It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and hit the spot. I also tried the seasonal special, a Pomegranate Cranberry Sangria ($10), which was equally good. My husband ordered the Tipsy Grinch-- Malibu rum, mango purée, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and soda water ($9.50). He said it was sweet but not overly sweet and really enjoyed it. He also had the Dirty Snowman Martini with RumChata, Disaronno Amaretto, vanilla vodka, and a cinnamon sugar rim ($13). He substituted almond milk for the half-and-half, and it was still creamy and delicious. We also had a great conversation with Natalie and quickly realized we had a lot in common, especially when it comes to dogs and the importance of pet safety. I always love meeting a fellow dog mom who shares the same values. The service and ambiance were excellent, and the space was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We will 100% be back -- and next time, we definitely plan on trying the food.

If you're looking for the gold standard of brunch in Summerville, look no further than First Watch…read moreon North Main Street. This isn't just your typical "eggs and toast" diner; it's a full-on culinary experience that manages to feel both incredibly healthy and deeply indulgent at the exact same time. From the second you walk through the door, you're hit with the "Sun-Up" vibe--it's bright, airy, and smells like fresh-squeezed citrus and high-end coffee. We were greeted by a host who gave us a realistic wait time, but here is a pro tip: use their app to join the waitlist before you even leave your house. We did that and were whisked to a booth within five minutes of arriving. The Appetizer You Can't Skip We started with the Million Dollar Bacon, and let me tell you, the name is an understatement. It's four slices of hardwood smoked bacon baked with a brown sugar and black pepper crust, finished with a maple syrup drizzle. The way the cayenne pepper provides a tiny kick at the end to balance the sweetness is genius. It is thick, crispy, and honestly, I would come back just for a plate of that. The Main Event For the mains, our table tried a variety of dishes to see if the kitchen could handle the rush: Lemon Ricotta Pancakes: These are probably the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. The ricotta adds a creamy richness without making them heavy, and the marinated berries on top were burst-in-your-mouth fresh. They didn't even need extra syrup. The Tri-Athlete Omelet: For those trying to stay on track with fitness goals, this is the move. It's an egg white omelet loaded with house-roasted onions, tomatoes, and cremini mushrooms. It felt light but was surprisingly filling. Farmhouse Hash: This is the ultimate comfort bowl. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly (not too salty), and the two over-easy eggs on top created a rich sauce that tied the whole thing together. The Juice Bar & Coffee You cannot visit First Watch without hitting the juice bar. We tried the Purple Haze--it's visually stunning with the butterfly pea flower, and the lemon/cane sugar combo is incredibly refreshing. Also, their Project Sunrise Coffee is some of the best "restaurant coffee" I've ever tasted. Knowing it supports female farmers in Colombia makes that second (and third) refill taste even better. Service & Atmosphere Despite the place being packed, the service was seamless. Our server, Justin, was a machine--he anticipated our refills before we even asked and knew the menu inside and out, even suggesting a side of the "Greens dressed with lemon" which was a perfect palate cleanser. The atmosphere is energetic but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Whether you're a local or just passing through the 29483 area, this First Watch location is firing on all cylinders. It's clean, the ingredients are top-tier, and the menu is creative enough to keep you coming back week after week.

Nope, about 4oz of berries and coffee with honey, creamer, turmeric, cinnamon and cayenne for me. Please note my listed concoction is extremely beneficial to the body, containing anti-inflammatory and antioxidants. Ok back to the point, I had the opportunity to meet a friend from church for lunch and I figured since I've never been to a First Watch in my life, to give it a try. The ride over at 11:15 on a Tuesday morning was easy, light on traffic with ample parking in a very safe section of town. I beat my comrade, for my Russian friends, to the restaurant as he was lagging a bit so the courteous wait staff promptly seated me. To be honest the franchise appears to have a forced hommy look to it. As if they're trying to be something you'd find on a winding country road where only the locals know about. To be honest, the ambiance is the lowest on my checklist, so depending on your perspective, that's a good thing. My hostess/waitress was asking me about my beverage before I was seated! I like this commitment to service. She even got me honey for my sweetener as I requested. Slow... slow golf clap from the audience. As I confessed before, I'm not a big breakfast person but I try to eat reasonable 90% of the time to stay "fit as a fiddle" (I'm curious where that analogy came from). While I could have enjoyed a great number of items, I opted for 1 Belgian waffle and 2 over easy eggs to go with my coffee. My skinny friend (grumble) got the Tri Fecta b/c.... well he's skinny! But as I recall it was about the same as my dish but with bacon. First off, my eggs were perfectly over easy - cooked 65% on one side the rest on the other with a very runny yolk, tasty! Now for the waffle, can we say "false advertising on 3?" Belgian waffles are thicker, have a "yiester" batter and pearl sugar. Plus, the "syrup traps" (all rights to Mitch Hedberg) are deeper while it has a crispier exterior and fluffier interior. In other words what I got was a deflated, defeated and structurally defunct piece of want to be abstract art, only something that a painter like Mark Rothko could appreciate (look him up). It was tasty but when I love waffles and have refrained for literal years I had my hopes set way to high. Anyways it was an average experience with only one syrup option! Oh I apologize for the pic, I was hungry and forgot to snap one before I destroyed it with my pitchfork. Overall, I don't want to nitpick too much but give constructive advice. So, the great -bacon, eggs, coffee, customer service, noise level and comfort. The average or slightly below average - the waffle (mislabeled) and ambiance via drab decor. If I were to come back, which isn't a reflection on the restaurant but my eating habits, I would opt for the eggs benedict as I make them all the time at home since homemade hollandaise sauce is easy and elevates any dish.

I ordered a gluten-free biscuit with sides of grits, chicken sausage and a scrambled egg to-go. I was offered a cup of water as I waited. The restaurant had several customers dining in. The seating area is very spacious and I loved all of the natural lighting coming in. There's a bar with so many types of butters, jams and etc to choose from. One of the workers came over to help me and answered all my questions. That sweet potato butter was divine!!! The food is genuinely good and delivers that nostalgic diner-style comfort that keeps people coming back. The #4 burger special (burger, fries, drink, and ice cream) is a great value and very satisfying. The burger is juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, with a soft bun that holds everything together without falling apart. The fries are hot, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside--simple, classic, and done well. Ending the meal with ice cream feels like a throwback treat and is the perfect sweet finish. Paired with a cold drink, the whole special feels filling and well thought out. The chef salad with fried chicken was another pleasant surprise. The salad was fresh and generously portioned, with crisp lettuce and well-balanced toppings. The fried chicken on top was the highlight--crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care, adding real substance to the dish rather than feeling like an afterthought. Where things get a bit challenging is the service and overall flow. Ye Ole Fashioned stays busy, and the constant stream of customers combined with limited staff can make ordering feel chaotic. There doesn't seem to be a single, clear system--orders are taken by whoever is available at the moment. While the system does work and food comes out correctly, it can feel confusing and frustrating at times, especially for first-time visitors. The staff works hard, but the rush can make the experience feel hectic rather than smooth. The ambiance matches the old-fashioned charm of the place--simple, no-frills, and very much about the food rather than polish. Once you understand how things operate, it's easier to relax and enjoy the experience.
