As another reviewer said, time to get rid of the old crabby woman. We came in to buy candy and souvenirs for our nieces. Had picked our candy, and were looking at the toys. We picked one up (a pop it, I think it was called) and were trying to figure out what it did, when this woman yelled over the counter telling another CUSTOMER to tell us to stop playing with the toys we just laughed, set down everything we were going to buy and walked out. Honey, if you hate people so much, it's time to go. And you definitely don't make other customers do your job for you. Yikes. read more

Our daughter was in Door county last year. She returned home with many food items for us. All of the items (some from different stores) were either expired, poor tasting, and so over priced. We explained to her that Door County is very touristy, and she was there at the end of the season. Our son just returned from Door County with friends. I told him of our daughter's experience with bringing back items, and asked him not to shop for us. He did anyway. Much like our daughter's experience, the same happened. Some of his purchases came from your store. Included was some "english toffee". It was hard as could be, and had little taste. It definitely was very old candy. Total tourist trap! You can get a single scoop of Cedar Crest ice cream for a small fortune. Majorly overpriced on everything. Not a place to take the kids for ice cream or candy unless you're very wealthy. read more

They have a huge selection of chocolates, candies, and toys here. Very cute store. I purchased some dark chocolate cherry candies which tasted pretty good. Wisconsin is supposed to be known for their cherries. Service was great. They also sell ice cream here too and have tables if you want to sit down and enjoy your eats. My boyfriend was especially interested in the bacon and pickled flavored candies and accessories they sell here. Prices are reasonable but can be expensive depending on what you buy. read more

This is a fun stop down memory lane. Lots of candy and toys to look through. Ice cream looked tasty, but I didn't try that. They offered free samples on the fudge and taffy. The fudge is delicious, but the prices are difficult to figure out. It states the fudge is $20/pound, but I have no idea what one pound of fudge looks like. They have 3 boxes to choose from: small, medium, and large, so my friends and I decided to get a small box. When they rang it up at the register, it was $52!!!!!! Turns out the small box is 2 1/2 pounds!!! Just seems a little deceiving, as they could very easily give an estimate of how much fudge would fit in a box. read more

Delicious hand scooped ice cream and friendly staff. Wonderful atmosphere located in a fantastic part of town.

They closed at 10 but my friend and I really wanted to take pictures inside and get some ice cream because it was the only place open on third avenue that sold ice cream. When we got inside, a nice lady greeted us (even though they were 5 minutes to close) and asked if she could help us find anything. It took both if us a few minutes to realize what we wanted but she was patient. Another nice lady welcomed us and asked if she could help as well. I thought this was great customer service because I'm sure the two of them already worked a long shift and were ready to leave but they still treated us with the best customer service! I am still in shock. On Fourth of July weekend, my family of 6 thought it would be a special treat to visit this candy shop and get some ice cream. The gentleman at the chocolate counter was extremely friendly and helpful. We were excited to see some amazing chocolate creations as well as some old time candies. We all ordered a single scoop in a waffle cone. I did not expect the mass produced waffle cones and run of mill ice cream (not even homemade) would cost me $50.32!!!!! EXTREMELY OVERPRICED! We would never return here. The $30/lb price tag for candy should have been an indicator to the overpriced gouging of tourists, a staple to their business. I have never thought to rip an ice cream cone out for my child's hand and tell a store I am unwilling to pay for their products. This thought crossed my mind 50.32 times since leaving this candy shop. So disappointed and I have serious buyers remorse. I hope this sways any person looking for a reasonable outing for their family. read more

I've been coming here ever since I was a little kid and I have always enjoyed the wide varieties of candy they have and the friendly staff. The fudge and other home made candies are superb and I highly recommend the cashew bear claws. Always a great place to visit when your in town. read more

Went with an average on stars. Wide selection of candy, chocolate and fudge was terrific. Chocolate quality was good but not exceptional. Chocolate per pound pricing is outrageous and fudge is higher than average. Don't fall for the buy 2 pounds get a 1/2 pound free taffy. The actual prices are poorly displayed! One pound of chocolate is $26.95 and the taffy you get to pick is not worth it. It's harder than taffy should ever be. Overall okay for a candy shop packed full of half as many toys as there is candy. Worth a look but beware of "good deals" and very small pricing signs. read more

We have been going to Door County for many years as a family and our first stop is always Door County Candy. We pick up some caramel corn and cherry clusters for the weekend. This is the one week a year that I indulge in sweets like this and DCC's is the best! Our 11 year old daughter loves the ice cream, and walking through the store is like walking through the candy store we used to go to growing up with a bunch of candies and gum that you don't see anymore in the chain stores. read more

Awesome selection of totally bizarre and random candies like the pickle sucker, bacon jelly beans, bacon gum, and tequila sucker that I bought. Excellent selection of other not so random and bizarre candies as well as a great selection of fudge and salt water taffy. The two girls that were working were two of the friendliest workers I have ever encountered. I grew up in another tourist town in WI and the people that work the counter at that candy store could never compare to the two working at Door County Candy. Their enthusiasm for their work as well as their friendly dispositions are reason enough for me to come back next time I am in the area. Highly recommended! read more
