From a Vietnamese person, this place is great! Our party of two got one speciality pho and fried tofu appetizer to share and it was great portioning. There was equal amounts of rice noodle to bed ratio for our pho, and the broth was great. We went during the 8pm-9pm timeframe, so it was served as a happy hour price ($13)! So great! The shop itself isn't too big, on the small to medium size. It's located in a small plaza, but there seems to be enough parking for all. I saw on their menu that they also have different kinds of Vietnamese coffee (including egg coffee) and other sweet teas. We got one of their green teas with lemonade I believe and it was really sweet though if you're into sweet things. Would definitely come again for their happy hour prices. read more

Thank goodness another Pho restaurant opened near my home just a walking distance. Since there were good reviews, I brought my parents for lunch. My dad got the Rare Beef and Tendon Pho, my mom got the Grilled Pork and Shrimp Vermicelli Bowl, and I got the Vietnamese Sizzling Steak (Filet Mignon) and Eggs with a crispy baked baguette. The pho broth was a bit salty, but everything else was delicious, we finished without any leftovers. The service was welcoming and they cleaned the tables right away before each customer sat down. It's even spacious for a small restaurant. The utensils and napkins are prepared at each table so you don't have to wait for the servers to come to you. Expect to be crowded during lunch. They also have a happy hour at 8 pm for anyone who finished work late. read more

Went here for the first time today. We've been seeing a lot of Instagram posts about Dope Pho so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is in a little plaza, parking is limited and there are a few places to eat next door and across. As soon as we walked in, the waiter sat us right by the door. There was a draft and it was cold. We asked if we can move to the table across but the waiter ended up closing the door. The menu is decent and the variety is the same as any pho restaurant. We ordered the grilled chicken with vermicelli along with an egg roll, brisket pho, and chicken pho. The two pho bowls came out first. After waiting about 15-20 minutes, one of the workers was mentioning that they are almost out of noodles and asked if I want a rice plate instead. I ended up opting for that since i had no other choice. The grilled chicken was decent, rice was on the sticky side but good, the veggies were decent, but the disappointing one for me was the egg roll. Thie egg roll tasted more like a veggie egg roll and had a weird taste to it. I'm sure the other dishes were good but the rice plate was somewhat of a disappointment for me. This place is probably going to be a one and done for me since I still prefer my go to spots. On the plus side they stay open late. read more

Right off the bat, the lady at the counter wasn't very welcoming and made us feel rushed. When the soup came out, it wasn't hot, just warm. The flavor was okay but could've been more bold. No one came around to refill water, so I was sitting there super thirsty. My friend got the shrimp egg rolls and they were shockingly small for $7. When it came time to pay, things went downhill fast. We had just three items, two soups and one egg roll, but the guy at the register couldn't seem to understand that we wanted to split the bill. We had to repeat ourselves five times, and at one point, he even motioned for my friend to just go away. It was a simple request, and he handled it rudely. I did notice the place filled up quickly, but honestly, it feels overpriced and overhyped. My family had been wanting to try it, but I know a spot closer to home that does it better. Omg, finally Fremont has a pho spot open late! This place is open every day until Midnight! With this cold, rainy weather, I always crave pho or some sort of soup so we decided to give this place a try. The soups (bun bo hue and pho) were on point and the bread baguette that came with the Beef Stew and Banh Mi was fresh and toasted perfectly. For a pho place, the service here was pretty good and the lady spoke perfect English. Came here for dinner as I've been seeing this spot all over my Instagram feed recently. The service and ambiance is what you would expect from a pho spot, no frills really. A server comes to take your order very shortly after you are seated, and you pay at the counter once you are done. I ordered the pho with the large beef rib in it. I would say the pho is reasonably priced and tastes pretty good, however the large beef bone was a little hard to eat. I expected it to be more fall-off-the-bone, but it required quite a bit of chewing to eat. Regardless, I would say this is a good option if you are looking for a tasty bowl of pho. read more

The flavor of the broth in the beef stew that Dad ordered was solid, but the meat needs to be cooked longer. This dish is my mom's specialty and she makes a spectacular version, so the bar is set high here. The meat should be softer. Skip the eggrolls. The fried tofu had a nice ginger flavor; enough to taste the ginger but not overwhelming, which I enjoyed. I was seeing this on my feed and some of my friends were talking about it, so this restaurant has been in my radar since it opened. The one item I was curious about was the Bo Ne. We went on a Sunday late afternoon. It was slow, only 2 other people eating. We got greeted and seated right away. I knew I wanted to get the bo ne so I got that, and my bf got grilled chicken rice plate and a side of egg rolls. We also got egg coffee and Thai ice tea. We didn't wait too long and our drinks came in milk tea cups with the sealed plastic tops. After that, the egg rolls, then grilled chicken, then the bo ne. My bf wanted to wait for me to get my dish so his food was cold by the time I got my sizzling plate. How's the food/drinks? -Grilled chicken rice plate: It was meh. Small portion of chicken, with rice, iceberg lettuce, and pickled carrots and daikon. My bf was still hungry after eating. It was a small portion imo for the price. -Egg rolls: 2 pieces in an order, filled with vermicelli, mushrooms, veggies. I think maybe tofu crumbled? I don't know. Theres no description in the menu so I'm guessing. It's alright. Again, just 2 pc of small egg rolls for the price seems too pricey. -Bo Ne: I had high hopes for this, unfortunately this dish fell flat. The plate same sizzling. After it was done sizzling, the egg on the bottom was burnt. The "fillet mignon" wasn't very tender or flavorful. There was too much cut up raw onions just sitting next to the egg that obviously didn't soften or cook. The pate was runny and gross looking, and had no structure and flavor. Everything else that touch the bottom of the sizzling plate just burned. The baguette was fine. I don't know what the "pork roll" is that is supposed to be with this Bo Ne. All I got was the fillet mignon, pate, 2 eggs, pieces of onion, tomato and sprigs of cilantro, and a side of bread and dry spice mix (looks like salt, white pepper, some msg). After eating this Bo Ne I was also still hungry. -Thai Tea: Insanely sweet. The tea flavor is weak and watered down. Not good. -Egg Coffee: Insanely sweet again but it was okay. Not too bad. My bf loved it. Service? It was quick. No interactions with staff so can't say much. They say us, gave our food, and we stood up to pay at the counter. Overall, I think I will not be coming back. I think it's expensive for the amount of food you are getting. I have never left a restaurant and felt hungry. Unfortunately this place isn't for us. read more

After going to see the lights, we came here for some soup to warm us up. This place is not quite a 4 star but it is more than 3 stars. I'd give it a 3.5 stars. This is a solid pho place located by the Acro station on Automall. We use to come here before it was Dope Pho, but I have to say the new name is catchy. The place is newly renovated, and looks nice inside. Their pho is quite good, with flavorful broth and a decent amount of meat. What we ordered: + Eggrolls - there's 2 for $6.95, which is a bit pricey, but they were crispy and good. + Seafood egg noodle soup - nice broth, a bit on the sweet side. There's a good variety of seafoods. I didn't care much for the imitation crab. + Spicy Beef Vermicelli Noodle Soup - the broth was really good and spicy. Short Story: A good and cheap place for pho in Fremont! Long Story: I've been coming here for some time. The name of the restaurant changes but the pho remain the same :). Right now it's dope pho and it's really good! They have a happy hour schedule after 8pm where the prices are about $3-$5 cheaper. I've gotten several phos such as the combination, meatball, short rib, etc. The service is friendly too. The restaurant is not that big but I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I'd say Dope Pho is like a 3.5 but would round it down to a 3 rather than a 4. We ordered the short rib pho twice before, and the first time I had it, the ribs were a great size. The second time my husband ordered it, the ribs were minuscule which defeats the highlight of the dish. It's also a bit on the sweeter side so I asked for some fish sauce. I do like that you have the option to choose fresh noodles though. The fried tofu looked good in photos and I saw some raving reviews, but it was just OK to me. It could have been seasoned and fried more + the quantity was small. Not to mention, all of our noodle soups always come out lukewarm. I did enjoy the bun bo hue which I've gotten a few times and so far it has been consistent. It has that shrimp paste flavor (that stanky sauce!) which gives it a deep profile. Service is hit or miss.
