We went here on a Sunday morning for some coffee and breakfast before our hike and it was great!! There was lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff was super friendly. We ordered the tuna sandwich and a yogurt bowl. The tuna was great quality and we were super satisfied! I added banana to the yogurt bowl and really enjoyed it. For coffee, I ordered an americano with pumpkin spice and almond milk. It was great! I love the flavor of their espresso. Cozy cafe with a lot of seating and options for food and drink. We came in one busy rainy morning and things were packed, but we were able to find a hightop table in the courtyard that was covered and dry. The service was quick and friendly. I had avocado toast which was good but a bit underwhelming and an Oregon Berry smoothie, which was perfect. The smoothie was nice and thick without it feeling like a milkshake, sweet without being cloying, and not too much to have with breakfast. My partner had a matte tea which he enjoyed and a parfait, which he was also underwhelmed by. Still worth a stop in! read more

We stopped at Doppio Coffee on a Tuesday morning after staying at the beautiful Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa, & it was bustling! We parked easily in front & got a delicious, creamy oat milk latte & Americano with one of their homemade, gluten-free orange scones. Doppio Coffee has a great array of alt-milks, drinks, and amazingly delicious HOMEMADE pastries, including gluten-free & healthy pastries (e.g. avocado, chocolate muffins). No need to miss out just because of health needs, especially if you don't need a gluten-free baking environment. I eat gluten-free, on occasion, to feel better. That said, if I came back, I'd probably try their amazing-looking regular gluten apple turnovers! Everything was delicious & service was friendly! There was plenty of seating in their light-filled cafe. They have a big window that opens up for a indoor/outdoor experience as well as several tables outside for outdoor seating. Walked over from the Hood River Hotel to get takeout breakfast. We got a vanilla latte and chai tea with oat milk- both were very good. I got my husband the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and he really liked it. The kicker - I got the Opa yogurt, it was beyond amazing. It's a magical super cteamy yogurt mixture with seeds, nuts and fruit topped with more fresh fruit. I've never had anything like it. I need to figure out how to duplicate it bc we live two hours from Hood River! The service was also very friendly. Highly recommend. read more

I enjoyed a very nice cold brew from this place after my adventures up in Mt. Hood. This place is located in the little town of Hood River, which is a cool little place itself, overlooking the Columbia River. The cold brew was great. I added a touch of cream to it and I was ready to roll! The cold brew was full flavored and robust. It was clean with no bitterness. The place is very cool offering inside and outside seating. The offer a full coffee bar and also make sandwiches, salads, and soups. They have a counter with a melee of baked goods. The staff members were in particularly high spirits, especially the young lady who served my cold brew. It was a great place for a pit stop before heading back to Portland on the 84. read more

Meh. For breakfast the food here is spotty; not the full breakfast experience we were looking for (which seems very hard to find in downtown Hood River, which is weird). Anyway, wife got the breakfast sandwich that had egg, sausage, spinach and humus and that was delicious. I got the breakfast sandwich that had just egg and sausage and that was meh. Kids both got peanut butter and jelly sandwich which they did not like and didn't want to finish. The bread was cold like straight from the refrigerator. Between the self service ordering and bussing, we won't becoming back here again. Before this we tried three other places for a traditional "sit down and order" breakfast experience and none of those places could give us that. So this place was our 4th choice. Wow, downtown Hood River desperately needs some good breakfast choices! read more

I liked the location a lot, the staff was friendly, and my mocha was delicious. I'm only giving 4 instead of 5 stars because of how crowded the inside is. I think they need to take some tables out and spread them out a little bit more. The back of your chair pretty much touches the back of the chair behind you. It doesn't make for that comfortable of an environment. However, I would definitely come back here if I find myself in the area again. I'd love to try some other menu items! read more

It was a cold, blustery day, and we were looking for a nice place to stop and have some lunch, so our friends we were with suggested Doppio. When we arrived, all of the tables were sitting dirty with plates, napkins, etc. on them, and I was left putting my years of waitressing into action bussing a table so we could sit down and eat. We all ordered our food, and we ALL mentioned how it was cold because the front door was open, and we asked if we could close it. We got a HARD NO!!!! "it is too hot back here for the employees with the door shut, so we are going to leave it open"........We all sat and waited for our food to arrive with our gloves, jackets, and hats on, one person in our party ACTUALLY grabbed a newspaper and put it over her legs and scarfed it down so we could get the heck out of the place. Now mind you, we are actually from a much colder climate and were dressed for the weather and used to it being cold outside but NOT inside when dining. They were also filling the water container for customers with a dirty ass bucket from who knows where, so we definitely didn't have any of that! As for the food, it was just okay; we had salads, soup, and a panini of some sort. It was later in the day, so we did not have any coffee, but I doubt it is better than Dog River! read more

The little, short girl working there seemed very unhappy. I asked her what their house coffee is and she replied, "The coffees are over there, you pour it yourself." I think to myself ok, that doesn't answer my question but whatever. So I ordered a medium cup of coffee and a 12 oz. smoothie. I didn't give her a tip. I go over to pour some coffee. Boyfriend wanted a dark roast, but they only had two options: a dark/medium roast and medium roast options. I start dispensing the medium/dark roast one and 2/3 of the way through the cup, the dispenser is emptied. I didn't want to ask the girl at the front to replace it, she obviously was in a foul mood. So i filled the rest with medium roast. Now I'm waiting for my smoothie. I walk outside real quick to give my boyfriend his coffee and walk in for my smoothie. The smoothie is a JUICE. Does this look like a smoothie to you guys? It's a crappin juice! Again, I was not about to ask them to remake it because I really think she would have spit in my drink. Was this because I didn't give her a tip? I don't know. Awful customer service, awful drinks. I'm not a coffee snob at all, but if youre serving coffee out of a dispenser it is a pretty good indicator that your coffee is not good. And then you serve me a freakin' juice. Doppio is such a cute little cafe, with a wide variety of sandwich, salad, and soup options. I got an egg sandwich with veggie sausage, spinach, and cheddar, stacked between two toasted pieces of soft ciabatta, which was delicious. Some of the other things we tried included the tuna salad, roasted vegetable panini, tuna salad sandwich, and turkey pesto sandwich. We were pretty happy with all that we ordered, and they were all relatively reasonably priced, coming in at about $12 a lunch sandwich and $8 for my egg sandwich. Something to note is that the lunch sandwiches were $4 more than the breakfast sandwiches, but they were basically the same size. The only difference was the lunch sandwiches also came with chips and and were on sourdough instead of ciabatta. So, if you like what the breakfast sandwich selection has to offer and are willing to forgo the chips for a day, I'd say the breakfast menu is your way to go (they serve it all day!). They also have an extensive coffee and drink menu, which we unfortunately didn't explore too much. My mom ordered a soy milk cappuccino, which she really enjoyed, but that was about it. They also have several pastries options, which we didn't try, but all looked delicious. Overall, I really enjoyed this cafe and would come back again! It's a perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, and they have big benches and tables on the inside to comfortably accommodate large groups as well. read more

The menu is really quite impressive for a little coffee shop and the Opa parfait was super delicious! Honestly, my beef was with the handling of the food. The guy at the register would take transactions then turn around and handle food from the toasters with unwashed hands. A watched a gal repeatedly rub her face and scratch her head then handle the sandwiches she was preparing with bare, unwashed hands. When I see these ick-factors in a visible food prep space, I don't trust what happens when I *cant* see how consumables are handled or stored. Bummer! read more

Came here on a work trip to Hood River. Service was very pleasant, but a bit slow, but overall, everyone was happy with the quality of the food. I ordered their tuna salad for lunch, which was good and filling, but would have liked more variety in the salad outside of it just having greens in terms of vegetables. I really don't want to be giving Doppio only two stars because I feel like it has so much potential. But I'm only not giving it one star because from our experience here, my sandwich was tasty. The aesthetic when entering, is perfectly Hood River hipster, with decor and swanky looking chairs that for me personally, are exactly what I want from a coffee shop in a town like this. The young man behind the counter was pleasant enough and upon quick review of the menu posted on a chalkboard wall and the pastry offerings in the display case, we were excited. Picking up a few snacks and a couple of coffees to-go for hopping back on the road toward home, we ordered a nitro cold brew, a regular iced cold brew, a plain croissant and a turkey panini (turkey, Swiss, cream cheese and cranberry on sourdough). As we waited for the sandwich, my husband and I each sampled our coffees prior to adding our preferred sweetener of choice, Stevia. His tasted like alcohol...not beer, just a chemically alcohol. Mine literally tasted like straight up vanilla extract. Even after we both added a few packs of stevia, they were both just really bad...worst we've had. In addition to the disappointing coffee's, we stood there and waited for our sandwich for 20 minutes! The place was not busy at all but we watched everyone in the shop move at a snails pace, while our sandwich just sat there, long after it was done. There was another lady standing next to us the whole time too, frustratingly staring them down for her order. We expect when ordering fresh, made to order food that there will be a bit of a wait but our 20 minute wait for one to-go sandwich was 10 minutes longer than it needed to be, simply because no one seemed to have any regard for the customers or providing any kind of expedited service whatsoever. The sandwich WAS tasty and worth its $10 plus price tag, quality wise but our coffee's were deeply unpleasant and went unconsumed and the customer service experience was lazy and frustrating. I am giving this coffee shop 5 stars for a few reasons. Coffee was consistent each time I went, the pastries were super delicious, and the staff was super nice each time we dropped in. We were just here visiting and needed a local coffee shop to get to. All the coffee we got was awesome. Good flavor the right temperature. The pastries we had were very good. All nice and soft, filled with flavor. The only thing I could say needed improvement was the food, but not for lack of quality. The quality was there. Finely crafted, cooked correctly. It was just missing something. My wife and I decided it was just missing some spices/salt we believe. We got a few breakfast sandwiches one day and a avocado toast the next. Medium roast drip coffee was very good. I got a sausage and egg sandwich add avocado and micro greens $1.00 each. The sausage was small maybe covered slightly less than half the sandwich, and it was very thin. That would have been fine except that the egg was over cooked and had thin crispy edges. I pulled it off for the second half and there wasn't enough sausage to compensate for the missing egg. I am glad I added the avocado and greens so that I had something besides the bread to eat. Thai coffee is really good, dunno if it's actually Thai coffee though or if that's just a marketing thing. Breakfast sandwiches are really good and perfectly worth what they're charging at $8, which is a rarity in Hood River. The thing that I love most about them though is that their music is quiet enough that you can talk over it, but loud enough that I can go to the bathroom and not worry about anyone hearing anything. Staying for Memorial Day weekend and our go to place (Pine St Bakery) was closed. So glad I found this place! Environment: Super high ceiling which made the cafe more trendy and cool. When you enter one of the doors, watch your step, as there was a random step and people might trip and fall. Aside from that, there's a good amount of seating and there are different types of furniture for you to sit on. There are bench like, chairs, and comfy sofa-like ones too. One side of the room they had the bathroom, other side- merchandise and the center is the coffee-making place. I saw people baking on the spot too. Drinks: I got the cafe au lait. I didn't know what that was and so I asked and the lady was very nice and friendly about it. Au lait had more coffee flavor and less cream/milk like latte. I decided to order it; 12oz for $3 was very reasonable. It had a very light flavor, slightly fruity. I really liked it and after drinking it all, I didn't feel full or bloated- probably less cream/milk. Too bad not every coffee store has this but I really liked it. I order a Cortado and often get a yogurt and berry parfait if I need something to eat. It's delicious, always. The staff are friendly, and make great espresso. What else do you want?
