We happened upon this shop when we were looking to caffeinate before driving home. It was a solid fine. Located in the main downtown corridor, they had plenty of different caffeinated options, as well as delightful, iced tea. My wife is quite the tea connoisseur and the iced tea they had here was quite nice! A little fruity, but not annoyingly so. My cold brew was pretty standard. They had a ton of cookies, some baked good and even a little shelf with local hot sauces and honey for purchase. The only negative was the physical layout of the store. You come down two stairs after entering the shop and then queue up. With more than one or two people waiting, it was a bit crowded - enough so that you're in the space of people sitting inside. Not a huge deal, but something to consider when you're figuring out where to sit! The iced tea gave them the five star bump and if you're a tea lover, it'll do the same for you!

Stopped by here on a road trip. I was hungry so ordered the ham and brie panini and an espresso over ice. The panini was great although it was on the smaller side for the price. It came with a small bag of chips as well. The espresso was good as well. It took about 15 minutes for them to make my sandwich. Overall, everything was delicious, just a bit on the pricier side for the portion size.

Legitimately one of the best bagels I've had in my life! Plus they spread the cream cheese on for you :) Also all of the baristas are super nice! Must try spot!

Got an Iced Tea, and a Cappuccino, very centrally located, great indoor and outdoor seating, and easy to understand and manage menu for a coffee spot, you can tell this is a great meeting spot for many. Service was quick and definitely more genuinely enjoyed by the staff, which is nice to see. The vibe was one of caffeine, laughter, and future ambitions or adventures. Such a nice spot.

4.5 stars. Coffee 4 stars Snickerdoodle 5 stars. 9/2 = 4.5 (not weighted metrics) Extensive coffee & drink menu. I was tempted by the $8 mimosa, but coffee is better. Pretty good selection of pastries too. Good vibe. Very Hood River. Line almost out the door on a busy Friday post breakfast per lunch time. Very friendly service.

My husband and I both got iced coffees. Friendly service! The coffee just wasn't our favorite. Seemed to lack flavor overall, even though I ordered my latte half sweet.

I got the iced coconut latte, my fiancé got the iced vanilla latte. Both were delicious and the perfect level of sweetness (which is not too sweet). The staff is nice the place nice the ambience is busy but laid back. The food smelled amazing but we'd already eaten. Maybe next time!

To say that the restaurant did a great job with our party is an understatement. A huge thank you to the amazing staff who served our group and made our celebration both effortless and delicious! Now a few comments on the food. Seriously, don't skip the pastries here since they're incredible. Since this was a party, I ordered trays of pastries for the group and got to try some of everything, including their enormous cinnamon rolls, maple bars, and fruit danish. All were the best I've ever had, although I had a special addiction to the maple bars. From there, our large group was able to order off their extensive regular menu. Every plate was gigantic and apparently very good (based on the appearance of our table at the end). I had their Crab Benedict which featured real crab drowning in tasty Hollandaise sauce. Bette's Place deserves all accolades. I'll remember our brunch there always.

The pancake was pillowy, buttery, and soaked up the provided warm maple syrup in the most amazing way. I had a couple bites croissant breakfast sandwich, which was also delicious and flavorful.

We all got different sandwiches and every single one of us loved what we got. Wasn't too busy on a Friday morning, plenty of open seating. They did have pastries as well but did not partake. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The dining space is bright with tons of seating. I love that they make their own bread!! It's super soft and such a nice touch. I usually go with the turkey which has turkey, white cheddar, tomato, pickles, onion, lettuce, and hot mustard. It was a bit spicier than I would have liked, not that it was too hot, but that flavor was really dominant for me so I'd probably modify it a bit in the future or just build my own . My daughter loved her ham sandwich which comes with sprouts, avocado, and cucumber. My husband also really liked his Italian and their clam chowder. This place is definitely worth a stop if you are hungry in the Gorge!

Service was prompt, and the restaurant atmosphere is very pleasant. It's kind of funny because you'll have people in suits having a business meeting over dinner, and other regular hotel guests just dining casually in t-shirts and jeans. On both occasions, I was dining with another family member. When we were there for dinner, we were having a really hard time deciding what to order, and our server let us know that there was a 2-for deal going on for some of the pastas. Each of us had been considering a pasta, so that solved that problem! Both were delicious, and we had leftovers to take home. When we were there for breakfast, I was feeling adventurous and ordered the lox and bagel, which I've only had a very basic version of one other time. It was soooo good, and very filling. Several other options on the breakfast menu also sounded really good, but I'm glad I went with this for the experience. I'd definitely eat here again if/when I stay in the hotel again. Since there's no free breakfast offered by the hotel, they give you vouchers for the restaurant, so you can get a pretty good deal on a meal.

More important, they were able to make a gluten-free sandwich for my partner with celiac. They took precautions to minimize cross-contact with gluten items, including wrapping the sandwich up separately and bringing it out to us first before bringing out our gluten containing items. The three in our group had mixed reviews on the food quality. I enjoyed my reuben very much. My partner and his mom thought their food was okay, and their portions were too small for the price. As far as the actual store goes, they carry a lot of what your typical natural foods store or food co-op would carry, though the prices seem more along the lines of what a Whole Foods would charge. For example, $3.50 for a single avocado. Considering that they are a small business in a somewhat touristy town, I guess that is a sound business decision. All in all, a good experience, just expect to pay a little more if you are going to shop or eat there!
