It's great to see a brewery in Dorchester, however this play definitely has some kinks to work out. The atmosphere is that typical chill industrial brewery. The patio is a great place to sit outside and have a beer. The quirks that need to be worked out is that they need to just have a bouncer, I went up for a beer and had to show my ID both times in order to order, and I could only order one beer, so I couldn't order a beer for my friend unless I had his ID to show them. Getting a beer is extremely frustrating, they have 2 POS's to order from that form a line and then other people just go right up to an empty spot at a bar and try to order. Either way is fine but maybe just have a sign to let people know how to order a drink. Now the beer, I'm not a big IPA fan but this place had 3 IPAs that I didn't have so if I can't comment on that. I came this weekend and had a great time! It was busy (saturday) but there was plenty of room, even got a few seats. We ended up staying for hours and having a great time, the crowd was very fun there. They have a cool brewing space, I would like to do a tour sometime! Great brewery towards the south end of Boston. Enjoyed hanging out here on a rainy summer day while I was visiting the area. They had tons of board games for people to enjoy while drinking beer. My husband and I had fun playing battleship and laughing for close to two hours while drinking our beer samplers. Count me in as a fan. The beer loving husband and I have been several times now and have officially declared this a place we like to visit. The first time we went we had to wait in line for a bit. Not my idea of a good time, but once in I was impressed to find a pretty big space with plenty of tables and enough bartenders to get everyone served pretty quickly. The patio isn't big, but it is nice to have a space to hang out outside. You can bring your dogs there, but I wouldn't recommend in the evening when it gets pretty busy. There just isn't enough room out there for furry and human friends. But the most important part...the beer! All solid. There wasn't a beer that I didn't like. I didn't LOVE all of them, but I didn't dislike any either. So far the winner has been the V1 Double IPA and the And Your Bob's Uncle IPA. I'm super interested to see what comes of their "Brew With Us" partnerships too. Since many of the reviews make note of the neighborhood, I should mention it too. I've been over in the area many times before with no issues. The same goes for when I visit the brewery. Part of me wants to keep DBC to myself, but it's an upstart place and I want to see them succeed. The beer is good, there's a nice variety of it, and the space is fantastic. Plenty of tables and room to spread out, and the patio is a rare find in Boston. There's ample parking, prices are reasonable, and it's not overrun with douchebags like (sorry) Nightshift and Slumbrew and Aeronaut (all of which I like, but can be a bit overwhelming... so much plaid, so many beards, so many pixie cuts). Food arrives via food truck or, occasionally, free pizza during the week, but options are limited. I think they have a BYOF policy, though, so I doubt it's a problem if you plan ahead or order delivery. read more

Great beer list, not only do they serve their own beer, but they brew on-site for other breweries, so you can order those at the brewery as well! There was a food truck outside when we went, not sure if it is always there, but you can bring your own food in. It's a fun atmosphere -- lots of games, and if you go in the early enough in the evening (even on a Fri or Sat night), there's plenty of room to spread out and have a good time. You'll find people piling out onto the front patio area during the summers, and the rotating food options (with the various food trucks) makes the experience relatively unique each time you go. Was not what I was expecting at all. Music was obnoxiously loud and the place was packed almost elbow to elbow. Seems like it's trying to be a club more than a bar/brewery. Also plan to be surrounded by flocks of basic yuppie hipsters, if that's your scene then this is the place for you. Not satisfied with the quality of staff who were too busy concerning themselves with conforming to strict liquor laws rather than accepting a valid ID, albeit not a passport, and a valid secondary ID, over providing good service. I understand they have to follow the laws, but as a Boston native who has taken international friends to various establishments around Boston , I am frankly shocked and appalled of finding an institution that conforms to the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law. But whatever. I'm not coming back. Make sure you have a passport when you get here if you're not American. read more

The beers had a solid taste upon initial sip, but the after taste was bitter with most of the beers I tried. When I went they had a cool waffle pop up restaurant going on and it was a beautiful sunny day. Good place to check out if you are looking for some different types of beer. read more

This is a great spot right on Mass Ave- I moved fairly close to this place about a year ago, I don't know why it took me so long to get there! I am not a huge beer fan, but luckily, the staff there are super knowledgeable and very helpful! Shelby-Lynn was the bartender that really went the extra mile to help me find a beer that I would really enjoy! Shelby-Lynn was very friendly and really knowledgeable and was able to give me recommendations based off other drinks I said I liked, and I found a beer I really enjoyed! I would totally recommend coming here, the large, long tables allow you to have a big party, or allow you to mingle with other smaller parties. We went to Dorchester brewing for a work event, so I can't weigh in on the service on a normal night, though it was lively as I was leaving at 8:45pm. The brewery has a cool post-industrial interior and you can see the massive brewery equipment from the function room, which is a great backdrop. There is a great outdoor terrace with twinkly lights. Unfortunately the beer was pretty average. The NEIPA was brown and oxidized and the pilsner had a tang. The Wit was tasty though. read more

Total fan of Dorchester Brewing. The beers are solid and it's awesome that they have a front porch with picnic tables. The scenery isn't the greatest, but it's nice to be outdoors. Dogs are allowed to come to the outdoor patio, but not inside. Be Good food truck comes on the weekends it seems for some good food to pair with the beer. The board games are cool and allow you to entertain yourself while you drink the day away. When I have free time on the weekends, this is always a spot I consider going. It is literally astonishing to witness brewing of beer before your own eyes. The venue is huge (even though from be outside it looks small). The staff is friendly as well and if you are new to beer, they will literally go through all the beer options you have and explain the tastes and even offer you samples! Like wow who knew? I mean it is truly good vibes over there. The 2 downsides that I would have is that it smells really weird at first when you go in but after adjusting and sitting down, you'll forget about it and 2. They don't have their own food that you can buy at the brewery they encourage BYOF (bring your own food) which is cool like uber eats and grub hub lol. Other than that, it is a very laid back, airy, open to light, place with good music and great vibes. read more
