I was finally able to try Dorothy's Bakery. They have a number of pastries, breads, food, and coffees. The inside is relatively small and only has some seats for waiting, there are no tables to eat. The staff was nice and we decided to try: - Chocolate Chip Cookie - Crème Brûlée Croissant - Raspberry Almond Danish The cookie was my favorite, but no complaints for the other two.

Dorothy's bakery is a very cute shop offering a variety of breads, pastries, and coffee. We got a loaf of bread and a variety of pastries. I would give the bread a 5/5 and the pastries a 4/5. I think they really excel in their bread making here. They had a variety of different bread flavors. I would definitely stop in for a loaf on the regular!

Sigh.. I hate being the one to write the low star review for a popular local bakery. But I don't know how else to get this message to the bakery's ownership. The website (screenshot attached) clearly mentions they use organic ingredients for some of the baked items, including the bagels. So with that confidence, I ordered a bagel sandwich online. When I got there to pickup my order, I wanted to double check and they said nothing they do is organic. I don't know if they've changed their wheat flour and forgot to update the website? She said she was trained just 7 months ago and she was told nothing is organic. This really matters to me because I'm sensitive to gluten, unless it's organic, and drive 25min to enjoy a rare bagel. I told them the issue and asked if they could check with anyone. They said there's absolutely no one they can ask about this. Apparently the baker doesn't work on Saturdays (does that mean these are day-old items!?). And they didn't even allow me to cancel the order. Her response was: just eat it, you'll be fine, it's wheat flour. I'm surprised that as a food establishment, they have zero training on food sensitivities. No, I won't "just be fine."

Dorothy's Bakery is a lovely cafe on Clark Street. I came in after walking all over the Lincoln Park Zoo and the warm bakery scent was like stepping into heaven. The cashier and another employee were super friendly and I had many choices of the beautiful pastries in the case, but I decided on the blueberry mascarpone bowtie - like a croissant with crispy layers of pastry and filled with gorgeous purple blueberry cream. I got a lemonade to drink and it was just sweet enough. Thank you for a perfect first visit and I will return soon!

The staff were friendly and I happened to go in on a rainy day so there wasn't any line. I ordered a green goddess bagel sandwhich and a bagel with cream cheese as well as an iced latte and a chai. As I said, there was no line so I picked up my sandwiches the second they were ready, made the four minute walk home. When I got home I unwrapped the sandwiches to find them completely cold the bagels to be un toasted and for my order to be slightly incorrect (swapped bagel flavors). I don't understand why my bagel - especially with a fresh egg on top was completely cold or why the bagels weren't toasted... They only offer espresso beverages which were okay but not amazing. I know this is a new place and I'm sure they are still getting the hang out of it, the staff were kind and the ambiance was cute but I might give them a couple months before I come again.

Had the BEST crème brûlée ever!!! And I'm fussy on that. Also tasted the tomato feta pastry. Delicious. Service was great too.

Tbh I remember being disappointed because of the hype. Today I entered with tempered expectations. I tried the Old Fashioned doughnut and it was somewhere between solid and above average. I'll definitely stick with Do-Rite especially because they're a few blocks away and significantly better. If the job catered Voodoo I'd indulge, but considering I prefer a few other donut shops I won't make a special trip. Great service plus a respectable donut equals 3.51 stars.

It also doesn't hurt that they are open from 6am to Midnight - perfect for those sudden doughnut cravings! One thing that can be improved is how they handle big orders. I recently ordered over 5 dozen doughnuts and it came in 6 boxes and a small bag. First problem: they don't deliver. Second and bigger problem is that they don't pack big orders so you can carry them out. How the heck am I going to carry 6 boxes and a bag of donuts??? Maybe they want to keep their business "small". A simple brown bag or even something to tie the boxes together would have been very helpful.

Yes. This place really looks like this! Everything seriously looks like paper. Or, as if you've…read morestepped into doodlebob world if you're a Spongebob fan (IYKYK). It's pretty small inside, with maybe no more than 10 tables. When I came there was a large party taking up majority of the dining room, leaving about 4 tables left. We didn't have reservations, but I believe they take them. Luckily we were seated right away without any issues. They are known for their Asian cuisine. Think Taiwanese fried chicken sandwiches, Japanese mochi donuts, ube, vietnamese coffee, etc. What I tried: - Mochi donuts (1 strawberry, 1 chocolate) ; so fresh! 10/10 - Strawberry/peach lemonade boba; Extremely sweet, but good! Staff was super kind from start to finish. The only downside (which is big) - it is pretty dirty around the restaurant. With all the white, you can unfortunately spot things quicker. A deep clean would do the trick!

However, it wasn't the cleanest but we were still willing to give it a try. When we arrived, the hostess/waitress asked if we had a reservation and I told her no but there were literally only 2 tables being occupied at the time, so she had us wait until she cleared another table. The menu gave a hibachi vibe, they had teriyaki bowls, unwich sushi rolls, soup, and specialty drinks but no fountain or canned drinks. I wanted the salmon and everyone else was getting chicken but that didn't happen because they were out of salmon. Really wasn't feeling the other options, so we canceled our order and left. I would definitely give the place another try but maybe earlier in the day and a different location.
