I just called this groomer to see if I could schedule an appointment. They asked if they could put me on hold and I said sure. I could hear everything in the background including some swearing and about 2 minutes after being put on hold they hung up on me. the best place i've ever gone to get my dog's nails trimmed. she is extremely scared of getting them trimmed bc she's been accidentally cut before at most places i've taken her to so she was very frantic the whole time but her anxiety never increased and she never seemed to be scared of the woman grooming her. the woman was very gentle and she spoke very softly and she told me what to do to make sure my dog had as much of an easy time as possible and it went so great. she even gave her a treat :)) definitely will be going here every time she needs her nails trimmed read more

Highly recommended. They got our two labs right in for nail trims and did a really good job! The price was more than reasonable and we will return. $5 dollars per dog was a very reasonable price for the same service that a vet would over charge for. read more

I've been coming here with my two pugs for years now and they are always so sweet and efficient at what they do (especially since pugs are notorious to put up quite the impressive fight when it comes to trimming their nails!). I've recommended them to multiple friends and associates and none of us have ever been disappointed. Its a HUGE deal to be able to entrust a business with your fur baby. They clearly care. My Westie Mojo is one year old and this is the only grooming salon he will let me book an appointment for him! They treat him so wonderfully that he is now completely comfortable with his groomer! I think she has a crush on Mojo because I forgot to schedule him before our vacation and she was so sweet to come him on her day off just to get him spiffed up! We just moved to Flagstaff. Our two Poodles were very stressed over the move. Our vet referred us to Dorothy's. She felt our 13 year old needed experienced groomers. We were traveling cross-country (for the first time ever) with two cats. One of them pooped all over. Dorothy's took both, bathed them, the cat carrier, gave me towels to put in the carriers, and charged me just for the bath. It was a Saturday and super busy, but they made space and took such good care of my animals! They definitely aim to please. Rare find! read more

I have been using Dorothy's k-9 for about a year now, was there yesterday mentioned to staff what I would like for my dog. I have been coming to Dorothy's for many years and I have NEVER heard swearing by her staff. I know that Dorothy would not tolerate such unprofessional conduct. From the description of what happened on the 17th, I am ready to bet that it was a customer having trouble getting their dog in the door and THEY were the one swearing! If someone is having a problem with a dog, everything else gets dropped as the dogs are the priority. Since the person answering the phone is near the door, if there were a lot of action taking place, you may have been disconnected accidentally. Dorothy's staff are the best around and I have complete confidence in them! If you go somewhere else because of this one incidence, you are shortchanging yourself and your dog! read more

I was in Arizona for a few months and took my dog here because I read good reviews online. I have a long hair dog and asked for a 1/2 inch TRIM...came back and he was shaven bald (including his snout)...couldn't even recognize him. This was right before the winter season so I had to go get some sweaters for him. They also charged me more than they quoted and said this was actually an expensive style cut, even though I expressed I had asked for a trim. read more

Everyone was kind and friendly and you can tell they totally love the animals. And the people dropping off and picking up were like family, total regulars. I am not sure why everyone raves about this place. We have taken our dog here a few times and each time have left unsatisfied. I always like to give a place a few chances before completely black listing them. This time, we had a 10:00 appointment for our dog, he was dropped off a little early, and we were expecting him to be done no later than noon. My husband called at 3:30 thinking they forgot to call us, and said "oh we haven't gotten to him yet. sorry" ...Um what has our dog been doing all day? and if we have a 10:00 appointment then WHY is he getting washed and trimmed at almost 4:00 in the afternoon?! Their answer....oh sorry...we got busy. Got busy? with how many other dogs?! Why have an appointment time if you get busy and dogs SIT in their cages for 5+ hours? That seems wrong to me. Not to mention, when we do pick him up, they always forget to cut his nails or dew claw and literally told us" oh sorry, we were in a hurry"...Gee thanks....you half-assed his appointment because you were in hurry, but didn't seem to show any hurry with a 10:00 appointment time. You open at 8...how many dogs do you have between 8 and 10 in the morning to warrant my dog to get washed and trimmed at 4:00?Needless to say we WON'T EVER return...Go to Pro-Groom. They are much better, faster and overall, do a thousand times better than Dorothy's. Oh yea and they wanted me to pay the $40 for the haircut...um no. read more
