Quality and taste of the food is really good but the portions have decreased in size. My wife and I just had the chicken burrito in a bowl/plate. Should have taken a photo of it. I went here recently when I was visiting my family back home, and I was pleasantly surprised by how vegan friendly this place is. I was also surprised by the remodel. The place looks great now (I remember it being kind of small and dingy)! They have lots of vegetarian options for their burritos like spinach & tofu, sweet potato and vegan chili and even have vegan cheese they can use. We requested vegan nachos and they made them for us as well. Overall the food is good but nothing out of the ordinary (but I am a little spoiled now when it comes to Mexican food after living in LA). In California this place would be closer to three stars, but the really friendly service and attention to consistency is hard to beat. It was a hipster burrito joint with lots of interesting vegetarian options. For example, you could get tofu or vegetarian chili in your burrito. Fairly cheap and the burrito was very filling. Beans and rice were good, and they offer yoghurt in addition to sour cream as a filling, for all you health-conscious folk. The food is soo good... the the service is soo inconsistent... Never come here if you are in a rush and want a quick bit. They do not move any faster if there is a line out the door or if the place is empty. They offer discounts on monday for burritos and tues for tacos. They have a variety of different items on the menu from sweet potato, roasted red peppers, spinach and tofu, gluten free and vegetarian options. My husband has tried a variety of their burritos and tacos and has enjoyed them. My one issue... My husband and I would have date night here at least 2x a month if not more at times. (it's a taco stand I get it, but take some pride in your work) We've had our orders messed up a few times when you ask for no jalapenos you end up with a boat load of them in your burrito and a burning mouth. I've gotten my beloved fish tacos with no spicy mayo a few times and literally one piece of lettuce in my taco. Great burritos and tacos. The service was awesome and the staff is very friendly. I went in there about 6 times in 5 days! That tells you how impressed I was with this place. The steak and chicken burritos are not huge but good enough to keep you full. I just happen to eat a lot. The green avocado sauce was amazing and the all their hot sauces were extremely good! Gone are the days of lines out the door and eating on the floor, and now you can top off a vegan chili with hip Concord made beer- I mean what can be better? The staff is inviting and take making you satisfied to a new level. And the food is also good too :-) I love their homemade and unique style salsa- carrot habanero? Sure! Smokey bbq? Yup. Boring mild salsa? Of course. I tend to get the vegan chili most, but sometimes I get adventurous and get their taco Salad with the chili on top. All my friends rave about the burritos which range from sweet potato to classic style. The staff is eager to accommodate any type of random substitute or ingredient request. Sent a note to their website's contact info the following day detailing my experience and never heard back from anyone. They may have some of the best Mexican food around, but bad service makes that point moot as far as I am concerned.
