Combo #5. Beef burrito and chili relleno.
    Conni M.

We went for a late lunch so parking was easy. (Although south Market Street was bumper to bumper.) I was so surprised by the "happy" decor and furniture. The lights above the booths were made with sombreros- charming. I had a basic Margarita and it was nicely balanced. The salsa with the chips was very hot so we asked if they had a milder salsa and they did. We split a #5 Combo that had a shredded beef burrito and a chili relleno. It was served with refried beans (delicious) and rice (better than most). A couple of notes... sour cream ($2.95 extra) and guacamole ($3.95) were add ons if you wanted them. They also charge $2.00 per basket of chips after the first. We didn't need another, just noticed it at the bottom of the menu. Street tacos were good, served in double corn tortillas. The shredded beef was very moist and good. The chili relleno was really good, very cheesy. Our server was prompt and friendly, checking back to see how things were. The menu prices were above what I expected but the food was very good.

    Carne Asada (no beans)

Stopped in with my family for the first time and we loved our meal. It's a small place but colorful and quaint. I was hesitant at first because you could drive by and miss it if you weren't looking. But the heaps of good reviews made it hard to not try. It was lunch time and only one server but he was working hard and did great. I ordered the Huevoes Rancheros, my Hubby had the Chorizo and was, my two kiddos had carne asada and son-in-law had a combo platter with chicken enchilada and chicken tamale. My meal was good....I've never tried Huevos Rancheros so I don't have anything to base it on. But it was good with the runny egg, covered in red sauce and melty cheese on top of corn tortillas. It came with the standard sides of beans and rice but I even thought those were really tasty. My kids had the carne asada which is their go-to meal. The noises of pleasure coming from them meant they loved it. I snuck a piece of meat and can agree with their ooohs and aahhhs! The meat was tender, juicy (not overcooked jerky) and had a great flavor. My son enjoyed the crispy charred edges. Both said this was in their top 3 carne asada plates. My hubby likes his chorizo and eggs but did say he thought it didn't have enough flavor. But he mainly likes pork chorizo so I am wondering if they serve beef chorizo.? So his opinion may simply be based on his chorizo preference, don't mind him, you may enjoy it. My son-in-law had the chicken enchilada and chicken tamale. He was also making noises of satisfaction and said multiple times that he likes it and liked the place. He's from the Yakima area where Mexican food is in abundance so I trust his judgement.

I see why this place gets highly reviews. Everything was good; food, service and the authentic atmosphere. The margarita was not bad and I could taste the tequila. The chimichanga was actually really good and not bad for its size. I love chips and salsa. However, not a fan of theirs. While I appreciate that they are free it is one of the things that drives me to go out for Mexican food. Still, it won't keep me from coming back.

The food was good, but it took a while to get to us. The inside is small and clean. The chips and salsa was great.

I driven past this place hundreds of times and never stopped. Big mistake. This is, hands down, one of the best Mexican joints in town.

My pics couldn't describe how amazing the food here is. It takes real talent to turn chicken…read moreenchiladas into something truly special while still being everything that's wonderful about enchiladas - this chef nails it! We've been truly impressed by everything we've tried here. If you haven't tried this place yet, I'm telling you, you are missing out.

I went here with my team of 7 last night for our holiday meal. We made reservations ahead of time,…read moreso it was really nice to walk in and have our reserved table waiting for us. This was my first time here and I thought the restaurant was cozy but warm and inviting. I would say plan ahead for parking. Open spaces were limited in the area. My team member connected with the chef ahead of time to come up with a wonderful menu that consisted of an appetizer, entree and dessert that was executed perfectly. Everything was fresh, beautifully seasoned and our server did a great job of making sure to take empty plates and bring the next course but a couple of our drinks were empty. To start the meal we had two beautiful Arepas that were delicate and creamy and topped with a corn salsa over a red chili sauce. They were tender and a great start to the meal. The entree course was a beautifully roasted chicken thigh over a potato and squash gratin that was topped was a red and green chili sauce. Though this plate looked rich, it was very fresh tasting with seasoning on point. To end the meal we were served a tres leche cake that was a nice ending to a great meal. The sauce was sweet without being cloying and was just enough to top off the meal. This was such a nice dinner and the food was on point! We had such a great time together and enjoyed our holiday celebration. Thank you Chef!
