We walked through the door to the bar tender practically laying on the bar talking to a patron and had to ask if we seated ourselves or if there was a hostess. We were told to seat ourselves and waited quite a while for the bartender to finish her conversation and wait on us. We ordered and our food came fairly fast. Worst experience in my life. Stopped to grab some sit down grub after been on the road from Denver.The hostess whisked us away and try to hide us from the main dining area. The place was not even busy. We got seated after we asked to be changed to a different area. The waiter came and sounded very exasperated and said that he had three or four different tables in different areas that he was managing. we just did not get a good vibe so we left. I don't know if they thought we were dumb or if they were trying to be nice but it was just a bit awkward. The food was disgusting and we left less than satisfied. We decided to eat at a gas station instead after paying over $200. The salsa was straight up ketchup and chips were a bit stale. Toco bell in comparison sells better Mexican food. Since this was not Mexican food I recommend you change your sign outside since it's very misleading. You should really change what your sign says since we thought we were getting actual Mexican food. We ate here for dinner on September 19. Service was super fast! We sat down, ordered, and had our food in less than 10 minutes. Not only was the service quick but the food tasted great. Everything we ordered was very fresh and had great flavor. Our server Steven was awesome! He was very quick taking our order and bringing out the food. We weren't there very long, maybe half an hour, and he checked on our table about 4 times, bringing refills and offering dessert. He was very polite and friendly, thanked us for coming in, and smiled a lot. He deserves a raise! The hot fudge sopapilla sundae was awesome, probably the best sopapilla I've had from any restaurant, ever. I would definitely recommend it. The restaurant played good music also. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in this area. We don't live here but will definitely eat here again next time we visit this town. read more

By far the worst Mexican restaurant I have been to in Mesa County. It took 10 minutes to get a seat even though there were only 4 other guests in the whole restaurant. Did not offer refills on drinks or chips and salsa. 45 minutes later when the food finally arrived the beans were so dry and crusty that you pretty much had to suck on them. The rice was so hard it crunched as you attempted to bite into it. The service was horrific in general. After spending 20 dollars on an enchilada I ended up throwing it up on my way home and was sick up until the next evening. If I could give it negative 5 stars I would. Pretty good, I think this was a win considering we hit Grand Junction around 9:00pm on our way home from a road trip and basically had no idea where we were to begin with. I did feel like there were maybe some regional differences in the preparation compared to what I have come to expect from sit-down Mexican restaurants in Southern California (which I'm not really a fan of in general, I think run down holes in the wall are where you eat Mexican food). I am from Southern California and moved here 5 years ago. This is perhaps the worst service and worst Mexican food I have ever had. The "salsa" tastes like ketchup, the food is mediocre but the worst is when I ordered a side of guacamole and it was not fresh made but rather a manufactured brand. Our waitress couldn't have been ruder and seemed very bothered by the fact that she had to wait on anyone. My son ordered a slice of cheesecake for dessert and it was warm and tasted spoiled. There seems to be a lot of people here that really like Dos but I can't understand why. I tried it one more time at another location and the food was no better. I will recommend their margaritas as they are inexpensive and well made. Other than that, Grand Junction has other GREAT Mexican restaurants that you should try such as Tequila's, Las Marias, Los Jilberto's to name a few. Spent 2 nights in Clifton while visiting my fathers birthplace. Had the opportunity to eat here two times. The first night we were tired having driven in late evening from SLC. Does Hombres was close so we said, why not? We had very nice experience. Food was good. They have local wines to try, many beers and lots of other options. This isn't a high end white tablecloth restaurant in Mexico City, or one of the super regional specialty Mexican restaurants we have in the SF Bay Area, BUT it is a very decent, delicious, darn good Mexican restaurant in a small town in western Colorado. I truly don't think it's fair to compare it to the others. We liked it so much we got take out the next night so we could eat and watch the Golden State Warriors in the play offs at our hotel room. The service is always great. Friendly, fast, and they get our order right. The food is also very good. Consistently the same taste, serving size, fresh, and hot. The bar is well stocked and drinks are also consistently good. If you like it and want to visit regularly I recommend getting the punch card. We didn't know about it, but our server said it was great since we come often. After a certain number of meals, you get a free one of your choice. Don't ever order the portobello mushroom fajitas more than an hour after they open because those mushrooms have been sitting on the grill/warmer all day long. We have ordered the same platter three times now and every time the mushrooms and all have been overdone. The look on the wait staff's face when we offered them a bite was one of pure disgust. That is how I felt the day after I last ordered that entree. As for service, it is very minimal, at best. After drinks and dinner are served, the waitress doesn't show up again until it is time for the check.
