Only after researching and finding the different places "Porteous Family Dentistry" was registered, and after trying all the different emails they use, I got one that worked. The boss Linda finally responded to me. Linda was focused and she told a story that was aimed at telling me everything was my fault. Linda never took responsibility for the dentist mistake. So, I had no other choice but to call Consumer Affairs and file a complaint. Consumer Affairs contacted me in about two days, It was nice to have someone listen and respond to me. Not only that I have spaces because the older Hispanic lady couldn't mold my retainers correctly. My retainers never stayed in place. My teeth go inward and not straight down. They also offered to fix the problem. They put brackets on my teeth and the day of my next appointment they canceled my appointment with no explanation. The brackets they put on are still on my teeth. The new orthodontist I go to laughed and stated orthoworks is known to be the western dental of orthodontists. My new doctor also showed me pictures of patients teeth that had to be corrected due to orthoworks work not being of quality. I paid for X-rays every six months out of pocket. For 4 years I paid $100 for xrays. When I requested the X-rays they sent me a picture of my first visit. There's other quality people to go to. FYI be aware they will make you pay in full before being serviced.

The service that I get from the hygienist is not very good most of the time what I mean by that is for example, I had x-rays done, and when the hygienist was putting the equipment in my mouth, she was scratching my gum tissue and could not seem to get it right. I went in for a cleaning and I was in there for an hour and 45 minutes, which is extremely too long at the dentist office for a cleaning. The dentist told me that I needed deep cleaning in my back teeth, although I have been thoroughly brushing my teeth and flossing etc... at that point I started feeling like she was just trying to make money never anything positive. Every timeI go to the dentist it is always something that needs to be done which is costing me extra money and my insurance. I'm not sure if I'm gonna stay at this Dentist or not because of the most recent experiences on the last few visits, they have not been very great. I'm starting to feel like it's about making money for that Office. For over the last two years, I have been thoroughly taking care of my teeth, brushing, flossing, gum mouthwash, fluoride mouthwash, using tartar toothbrush, brushing with Oral-B, but still she says I need deep cleaning, which does not make sense to me. I am getting a little concerned about the service and why is everything negative and the push for deep cleaning. I am assuming deep cleaning cost more.

The two ladies at the front desk were helping another patient, but they greeted us right away, asked us to have a seat, and let us know they'd be with us shortly. I didn't catch their names, but they were friendly and welcoming. About five minutes later, one of them let me know my child was checked in. We hadn't even said our names yet, so I was impressed they already knew who we were. Stephanie took care of my daughter, and she was amazing. She explained everything in a way my daughter could understand, which helped her feel comfortable and at ease throughout the appointment. As a parent, I really appreciated how patient and kind she was. The entire visit, including X-rays, the cleaning, and meeting with Dr. Ho at the end, took about 40 minutes. It was efficient without feeling rushed. I'll admit I was a little hesitant because I came across several negative Yelp reviews after I had already made the appointment. Thankfully, our experience was the complete opposite. Everyone we interacted with was professional, friendly, and caring. Before we left, we scheduled our next appointment, and we'll be coming back.
