First trip to the restaurant in Marble Falls. My wife and I had the burgers one with the home made chips and the other with fries. We also tried the chips with queso...that's potato chips and the fried pickles. All the food was tasty. The beer selections are good and you can sample before you decide on the one for the meal. This brewery has some tasty beers (we tried their Blond and IPA) and the food was "ok". I had the Bison burger which was very tasty and my husband had the schnitzel (which he said was too dry). A table near us ordered a large pizza and it was delivered with the pieces cut into SQUARES. Noooooooo The atmosphere of the main dining room is a bit echoey and lacking any real character. From the décor - feels very warehouse like, tables far apart, and cracked concrete floors (the bar is a bit more inviting); the inattentive wait staff - um, another beer please, empty glasses sat for along time; the marginal food - soggy and greasy fish and chips (just gross) and an overcooked, dehydrated bison burger served with side of "sautéed" brussel sprouts...I like al dente; however, the babies were R.A.W. - come on!; and even the beer- tried a few of their Double Horn draft selections and there was nothing "wow" about them. Perhaps I've simply become too spoiled after making my way through many Texas Brewery Trail establishments. We have now had 3 experiences with this place and we certainly won't be having a 4th. It really is unfortunate since there aren't many options in the Marble Falls area to eat. We went in at 2pm today on a Sunday and when we walked in there were only 2 tables sat so we were hopeful for a good meal and service. We got neither. We sat at the Bar and Gemma, that's the name on the receipt anyway, "served" us, if that's what you want to call it that is. Now I have worked in the restaurant industry so I'm pretty understanding of this environment, but this was epically crappy service. Our food came out in a timely manner and that was pretty much the last time she engaged with us. No check back, no how is everything, no can I get you anything else.... Literally nothing. It would have been understandable if they had been busy but she was standing right in front of us the entire time chatting with another employee about crappy customers when they are "in the weeds" which is a restaurant term for busy or slammed. You would think they would talk crap about customers in private at least or lower their voices or something. The food was even worse than the service and I took 3 bites and pushed my basket to the edge of the bar for her to take away. She never did. I wasn't looking for a comped meal or anything but would have loved being acknowledged that I clearly didn't touch it and when that happens it generally means something is wrong. She just flat didn't care it's plain and simple. We paid and left one of the worst tips I've ever left for the shitttttty service. The fish was gross and soggy by the way. How do you mess up when there is literally 5 people in the whole restaurant. The other people sitting At the tables down in the bar about 5 steps away had to send their child to Gemma to get their bill because she was so busy talking poorly about customers to walk to them to check on them. Hey At least she treats all her customers equally as terrible. We have had one good experience there but it's now been overshadowed by the 2 disastrous ones so much so that I would highly recommend going anywhere else!! I've come to Burnet, TX every summer for the past 9 years for Camp Longhorn. As a counselor now, I come to Marble Falls on the nights I get off. I discovered Double Horn this year--thank God! I got the steak with cheese grits and my friend got the salmon. Saying the food was amazing is an understatement! I dream about the marinade on that steak! The richness of those cheese grits! Warm Beer, stoned staff and moldy cheese Parmesan cheese shakers all had mold in them! It really takes a long time outside the fridge for that to happen. I literally ate three slices of pizza with moldy cheese on it before I realized it in the shaker. We looked around at all the tables and could see the mold in those too. Weird combo of ingredients but even the pork itself was seasoned strangely , similar to chorizo . Pizza was pizza. Tasted alright but was misshapen, and their sausage serving was so sparse I wasn't even sure it was on the pizza at first. Mac and cheese we ordered for the kids had spicy seasoning on it, and they still didn't like it even after we removed it. I've never seen them not eat Mac and cheese before . So I'm summation, cool place to meet with friends for beer, but not ideal place to have dinner. (My family goes to a lot of breweries and good food is pretty much the norm ). Burgers here are worth going out of your way for. Blue burger was has a perfect balance of meat and toppings where you don't feel like anything is missing or unnecessary. The beef is high quality, cooked to a perfect medium with excellent consistency and lightly spiced to emphasize flavor. The bread is also has a good flavor and texture that holds everything together, but isn't distracting. I will admit to having better sweet potato fries. They were either rocks or soggy, but the burger outshines that small issue anyway. Casual atmosphere with accompanying service.
