Double Mountain I have had for a long time. It's not my favorite, but they are consistent. One of my friend's suggested we go there after walking around the neighborhood so I obliged since I have yet to go. Right away there are some things anyone should know before coming here right off the bat: No Happy hour can be very busy at dinner time very very family friendly aka bar babies If you can get past those hurdles, you will enjoy the brewery. Along with their staple beers such as the Vaporizer and the Zweikle, they have seasonal and rare beers on tap. For a full pint, it can range from $6.50-9. A 12 oz. can range $4.50. Sampling is definitely the way to go and the servers are happy to find what taste buds satisfy. The pretzel bites and cheese dip is highly recommended. It's not too salty and the cheese dip is pretty addicting. It also pairs well with whatever beer you are having. There is some liquor options but if you want a mixed drink, options are a little more limited. There is some seating outside, but no big patio is present. The pizza's look appetizing and I saw many tables have them. Again, Double Mountain is not my favorite, but it's a good option in the neighborhood. read more

Good cold beer and the best New Haven Connecticut style thin pizza in town. This is a huge place is is great for large groups. The service is friendly and fast. The pizza was delicious and my IPA brew was really tasty and cold. I got the pepperoni and mushroom pizza in was nice and greasy but good. Okay. Want to know why this Taproom is better than that Taproom? Please people. Sorry, everyone can make some kind of decent tasting beer. I know the true beer drinker will argue for their favorite. They are the exception not the rule. Food. Families go out to eat. They come back for good food. They repeat because of good service. They make it a habit because its affordable and not going to drive them to the poor house if they stop in once a month. Plenty of space lots of room in between tables. Not the open let your kids run around of other places. When did going to a restaurant mean let your kids run around? The Pizza the sandwiches, the salads, have all been good portions with great taste. I mean that is what we are asking for when we go out isnt it? Decent service. I would not give it the most attentive and most friendly or most knowledgeable but hey its PNW. Laid back but not too laid back. Great pies in a casual and relaxing environment. It's pretty big inside, so it's friendly for families and groups. Pizza crust has a nice chewy doughy inside, with a great crunchy bite on the exterior. It's thin crust here, and it's done well. The pizzas aren't soggy or weighed down by toppings. The Popeyes, SOM, and salami pie were crowd pleasers after hiking at Silver Falls. The beer helped too - and there's a nice selection of craft beers. Cheers! read more

We came in on a non-busy day with a party of seven (four kids) and immediately got lectured because our kids had the audacity to sit at an outside picnic table. One of said kids has an immunodeficiency problem that is worsened by gluten. We ordered him a gluten-free order from the place across the street and were immediately lectured that we couldn't bring "outside food." Having been a fan of Double Mountain since the first restaurant opened in Hood River, the quality has really deteriorated at least at the Woodstock location. Our Truffle Shuffle had barely any mushrooms on it at all (see attached photo). This at a cost of $27.00 Our pizza was cold on pickup. Why can't they keep the pies warm when ordered in advance instead of leaving them out in their 60 degree restaurant? The salesperson asked me openly what tip I wanted to give, That was awkward and inappropriate. Tips are proprietary and I don't appreciate being asked. This is a solid place. Good food, good service, good beer, good atmosphere, good patrons. Overall GOOD. ;) I like the beers, they are tasty and there's a nice variety. I like sitting at the bar, because you always meet fun/nice people. I like eating the pretzel bites and pizza. I like that you can usually get a seat without having to wait (though admittedly, I usually go at off times.) And I like that the price is pretty reasonable. This was our first time coming to double mountain. We have been trying to be more adventurous with trying out new breweries, and this place did not disappoint :) They have an extensive beer selection, my personal fave was the Kölsch, husband dearest preferred the Hop Lava. I was debating between a pizza or tuna melt. I am so glad I went with the pizza because it was absolutely delicious. outstanding service and pizza. I met an old friend here and picked the Dbl Mtn knowing it was great and reliable. I moved from seating at the bar high top to table out front with chairs with BACKS a request from my friend. Makes sense. We got attention right away from the server - and ordered two brews. They had a juicy Ipa that my friend, Megan recommended. It was great. We sat and chatted a long time before deciding on food. I wanted the seasonal pie. Squash, Proscuitto Ham, Sage - it was a white based pizza. Something fun and adventurous - we tried to do a full pizza split the truffle shuffle and the new seasonal - but they couldn't do that. No sweat, I didn't mind gettin my own. We shared some olives, too. So, since we each got our own pizza we exchanged a few slices. I love the truffle shuffle more pizzaz (haha) than the Autumn Harvest Seasonal. Garlicky and zesty. I had the Falalalala Beer next, their winter seasonal. It was a fun atmosphere, brilliant food/drink, and excellent service. When I had to move from the bar section to more of the general dining, I saw this rambunctious family running about - kids are cute and such, but allowed loose and screamy - a bit of a buzz kill. This is my favorite brewery in Oregon, so of course I am stoked that they opened a taproom within a mile of my house. They are typically busy when I go there, but it has tended to be more on the weekends so far. They have an awesome system where you can put your name in and then they will text you when your table is ready, so that you can wander around the neighborhood. The beer is the best reason to come here, but the pizza is good as well. They have a somewhat limited menu, but they make up for it with the quality of the ingredients. The one review saying the pizza is bad and to eat at Pizza Hut instead must have some grudge against them, because that simply isn't true. Perhaps not everyone has the same tastes, but for sure don't take his word for it. The staff has always been very friendly, both here and at the Hood River location. I would likely still come here even if everything changed except the beer, but I am very happy with the way things are. Now stop reading this review and go try it yourself! read more

The food, beer, and ambiance here are great! But that's true of lots of places in Portland. It's the customer service that is prompting this review. I went in on a Wednesday evening, but it was one of the first nice evenings in April, so the place was pretty full. I put in my to go order at the bar, and the bartender misheard my "Mediterranean" as a "Mezze Platter". Easy mistake. I should've realized when I paid that the total wasn't high enough, but I didn't. They brought me my food, and the mistake was realized. I offered to pay the difference and have my pizza made, but they wouldn't hear of it, and started to make my pizza. When I then went to it he bartender to offer to pay for it, he said it was there mistake, and offered me a beer on the house while I waited! I will definitely be back. Stumbled upon DMT after a restaurant in the neighborhood was closed. Inside was very open and friendly. Service was great. Beer was fine. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and it did the job. Tried this taproom on the spur of the moment recently. Quite happy with the beer and the food. I had the hot pastrami and swiss sandwich, with chips and pickle, and the Vaporizer pale ale. All great. My dining colleagues had, respectively, the salami pie and root beer, and steak sandwich and India red ale. Everyone loved their food and drink. We shared the mini pretzel bites with cheese and hot mustard dips as an appetizer. Again, very good.
