The servers are nice and can make your order relatively fast. Their prices are fairly good and I'm happy that it's still around from my first time that I got a smoothie when I worked at Trader Joe's in 2001.

I ordered the Twilight Taro ($7) with oat milk ($.80) and double boba ($1.50). The drink is a non caffeinated combination of taro and purple yams with fresh milk. When received, it did not resemble the picture from the menu. The drink was creamy, slightly thick, taro/purple yam forward, very flavorful and perfect with the less sweet option. I prefer no ice, I was only allowed a less ice option. The ice level seemed regular, consuming 3/4 of the cup space. They honored the double boba as each sip had ample boba to enjoy. With no one at the walk up window when I arrived, the staff was not proactive checking in on me. I had to knock on the window to have someone eventually acknowledge me. Not great considering two employees watched as I walked up and stopped in front of the window looking back at them. Besides that, it was an easy, flavorful experience. Thoroughly disappointed when it was just a Thai MT with some cream cheese spread. I asked an employee to make sure, and they confirmed it was just a thai tea with cheese lol. The thai tea is objectively good, but then again it's REALLY hard to mess up thai tea. Perhaps their other drinks are more of a hit, but it's pretty hard to justify coming here as a non-local who lives across the bridge.

On my trip today, the man stocking the produce had his cart in the middle of the produce section, so there was really no way to get anything. I asked him if I could slip in and quickly grab a few things, and he made a really off putting comment about if I could see he was working, etc. Yikes. I've also been rung up before where the cashier just is on auto pilot, no hello, no small chit chat. Nugget, you carry things we like, and you're close to our home. Can you please give your employees some customer service training, or some reasons to feel joyful? TIA!

I came with with a three year old and the two workers were immediately helpful. One of them was even able to explain the prices while said three year old was excitedly loudly talking about the ice cream they wanted. The environment was very chill (no pun intended) and my kid loved pointing out all the decorations around. They chose strawberry with pink sprinkles in a cup (I chose the cup. I gave them a cone a couple months ago. Going to wait awhile to do THAT again) and I chose matcha green tea in a waffle cone, and it was the best green tea ice cream I've ever had. I live in San Francisco, so I have it regularly. I can't speak for them because it was ice cream so of course it was their favourite of all time, but I'll let the photo of them speak to how much they liked it lol read more

I think the best part of visiting Double Rainbow is the homemade ice cream sandwiches. So many different varieties! I also love how it feels old fashion to call it an ice cream parlor. Makes it seem more magical! Not only are the ice cream sandwiches to die for, but anything ordered is in big portions. You aren't wasting your money here and it isn't like a Culver's where your ice cream is overpriced. Basically, if it's a hot day and you have a hankering for ice cream, come here. Cute ski decor, a gratis book with the full history of the town by the counter, and an adorable town mural, and importantly a customer bathroom. The place is spotlessly clean. It was empty in the late afternoon I came it, but come during the school year on a nice day and it will be bombarded with local families: a real afterschool hot spot. My medium sized yogurt and berries came to $13, but on reflection, I suppose I'm not surprised that is the going rate for fro-yo in Marin. They offer tiny dixie cups and free water, but I wish they were bigger --it can be a challenge to drink water through a thimble.
